Before the season Rafa thought he had £20m to spend + founds recieved from player sales such as Alonso and Arbeloa. He had lined up D.Silva, Jovetic, Turner/Upson and G.Barry. Then the owners says no and tell him that he now has to to spend the transfer kitty on renewing player contracts. He's got about £14m left and now has to look at different targets. He's now almost forced to look at players who plays for clubs that already owes Liverpool money. (Pompey £8m crouch and Roma for Riise). We end up signing Aquilani for £5m + future installments, Johnson for around £8m and Soto for a bit more than £1m. Looking back on it now, this season was almost destined to end up as a complete failure. What might have been if the owners had stood by their promise and given Rafa founds and Rafa had signed the players he wanted? Whatever you think and feel about Rafa, it's pretty obvious that he's not had the easiest work enivronment under Aids and Cancer. Thanks DM!

Just seen the Dirk chance in the first half again. Great play by Gerrard and Aquilani to set up the cross. Aquilani looks quality playing in a more attacking role, shame he was knackered after the first half yesterday. Would he have been if he had been playing more games earlier in the season tho?

I was just waiting for someone to stamp on it or the ball hitting that little fella. Thought he had a decent game myself.
