  1. Spot on. Also, if this was a PL match, there would be no end of shithousing. Don’t think I’ve seen any from Mainz. (Could see some now though!)
  2. I watched the first half of Spurs last week before setting off for our game….stunned to hear the final score a bit later. As for the Kane goal, which had the BT commentary team creaming keks, but which was a copy of Trent’s a few days earlier……. didn’t they bring out a law a few seasons back, saying you couldn’t have players in the opposition wall? Or had that been quietly dropped, just like the 6 seconds goalie rule, taking free kicks from the right place and impartial refereeing?
  3. Yeah, I was conscious of that when making my tongue in cheek post. However Brighton’s recruitment has been so good lately that these young relatively-unknowns are making an immediate impression…. eg Caicedo, Encisco, Ferguson etc. Slightly different model to ours, but stupendously successful right now
  4. We need to hack Brighton and Dortmund and find out who they’re lining up to replace Mac Allister, Caicedo and Bellingham and gazump them.
  5. They're just copying the Chelsea model. Chelsea invested loads of money in youth development in order to generate an additional revenue stream as well as producing first team squad players. They consequentlt dominated youth football for a while. Chelsea, of course, broke loads of rules concerning recruitment of young players in order to secure top talent - and subsequently incurred the wrath of FIFA. It wouldn't at all surprise me if City have been copying ALL aspects of the Chelsea model.
  6. Yeah, but the fishiness goes back a long way. Taylor arguably cost us the title in 2019 (Kompany/Salah incident), Tierney definitely did last year (Spurs away, Everton/City). Taylor’s performance in the City home game this season ….3 fouls he ignored in the build up to the Haaland goal, which was only disallowed by VAR, the judo throw on Mo. Don’t know why it recently came to mind, but the last home game before lockdown, we went 1 down against Bournemouth despite a blatant foul by Callum Wilson on Gomez. The referee? Tierney. Any 50/50s in our favour recently are offset by the shafting we got at Arsenal where all three match defining decisions went against us…. and which Oliver, months later, apologised for….. something that he had previous for.
  7. Einstein was a genius. Guardiola is a very good football coach. And a cunt.
  8. Everyone in football has an agenda. Everyone has an allegiance, that’s the nature of football. Pundits, officials, journalists, everyone, including the cunt who wrote this piece …. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/may/23/pgmol-set-to-reject-liverpools-complaints-and-back-officials He’s siding with PGMOL, excusing the Mings decision with this logic:’High challenges can be the subject of more lenient refereeing, especially if the offending player is believed to have been unaware of the position of the player they make contact with.’ Even though the photo at the top of his article shows that Mings knows exactly where Gakpo is! This all shows how big a challenge the clubs has in addressing the blatant bias we’re suffering
  9. He clearly tries to make contact with/block/however you want to describe it to stop it reaching Konate who is right behind him. Neil Mellor nails it in his match review on LFCTV. As well as calling out Brookes for the succession of soft free kicks. If he’d judged the challenge on Hendo by the same standards as the free kicks he gave to Villa, it would have been a pen.
  10. This. I’ve made this point countless times over the years on national forums and I genuinely think people in the wider football world just don’t get the connection.
  11. ‘If it was me I’d be giving every subjective decision to Villa, but I’m a knobhead. Hopefully John Brooks is above all that pettiness.’ Hmmm. We know now that Brooks is also a knobhead. And a cunt. Luke Chambers is a fantastic prospect, hopefully he’ll get a chance to impress during pre-season.
  12. Yup, this was the same match I was at. I would be sorely disappointed if there’s not some serious head scratching going on right now as to how to address this blatant bias against us from certain referees. The performances over the last few weekends from the usual suspects and now Brooks have been the most brazen Fuck You imaginable, both in terms of the constant soft, laughable free kicks given as well as some major decisions.
  13. I’ve said it elsewhere - these cunts pick and choose which rules they want to enforce, as it suits them. Only goalie I’ve ever seen penalised for this was Pepe Reina. Only goalie I’ve ever seen penalised for holding the ball too long is Mignolet, albeit in Europe
  14. It’s all moot anyway. Refs are so random about the way they apply the rules now, they might as well do away with half of them. Free kicks and throw-ins are seldom taken where they occurred especially a free kick near the touchline. Handball and offside rules are a joke. The flagging of offsides -farcical. The rule about being a metre away from a defensive wall was ignored at Spurs today. Woe be tide if someone takes a corner a centimetre outside the quadrant though!
  15. Such as the efficiency of a £100m player who, in 12 CL games this season has 0 goals, 0 assists and one yellow.
  16. We live in hope. What’s going to come first - me, and probably plenty of others, giving up on this corrupt and tarnished sport or City getting their just desserts?
  17. Same, IIRC. Wonder what City’s penalty will be for cheating on an industrial scale?
  18. And we’d have won it in 2019 if Anthony Taylor had sent off Kompany at the Etihad as he should have done and again last season if Tierney wasn’t such a bent cunt.
  19. Nobody has the faintest clue what a yellow should be given for any more. Awful challenge by Martinelli, no card. Caicedo takes revenge… ref feels h ref can’t then give thd deserved booking. Everton game….. shove on Foden on edge of box, yellow. Holgate hacks someone down just outside box, no yellow. One of our recent games, multiple promising attacks stopped by fouls close to box, none saw yellow. Utterly random… massively inconsistent
  20. And he’d only go and manage in the Maldives if he could be in charge of the richest club in the Maldives with the biggest budget. Ps, Jamie Jackson, worra cunt.
  21. Friendly journos, to spell out the facts? In the past 5 seasons we’ve topped the Fair Play league 4 times and we’re 2nd once. Currently sitting 6th. In the last 2 matches when he’s been ref, Taylor has given 17 and 19 free kicks against us, way higher than the average for us this season. He gives out more than twice the number of yellows to us than we get in games he’s not in charge of. The stats are readily available as well as specific incidents (particularly in the case of Tierney). The problem is, if the argument is seen to be coming from the club, the corrupt and unaccountable PGMOL will shaft us, and shaft us again, and fuck all will be done because the authorities have to keep peddling the illusion of the integrity of the league for fear of tarnishing their brand.
  22. I mentioned elsewhere that Tierney and Taylor, representing one eleventh of the referee roster, have officiated one third (12/35) of our matches this season. But we’re just paranoid, aren’t we?
