  1. Baljic Prosinecki Slight digression: why don't we spy for the next Croat playmaker, they all seem ace. We've missed Modric now. Who could be the next one?

  4. ....and I'll raise you this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1076132/Spare-thought-super-rich-millions.html . Seems he's in good company.
  5. Right, my thoughts. The gameplay is back thank goodness.Like others earlier mentioned, there's no more running through the field to score with half the opposition behind you (Rooney's still a shithouse though). The passing, trapping, dribbles and feints are back which is the dream of any "match controller/dominator" type (like me). Its not all balance that matters which is very good; Robinho can drag Vidic all over the pitch with silky dribbling. The speed is also perfect; no more players on acid. The corners have been tweaked very well although there's little room for improvement. Freekicks are back old school style; already scored a few with Gerrard. Freekick depend more on precision than luck. The keepers are better than before; it might not be the best but i think they are hovering around a realistic balance between realism and fun. Hold up play is better as it can be done with just about any player. The defense has been sorted, not much room for cutbacks and their positioning is better. Also the stats of the players are more clear cut; a runner in the high 90's is a bullet, a dribbler in the high 90's will leave you rolling. These make you plan ahead; seeing Ronaldo or Robinho will make you think twice and adjust your strategy accordingly. The faces are great- could be better- but still great. WENB did a comparism of the faces on pes 2009 against fifa 09. For the first time pes won hands down. The likeness is better. The ball Physics is just perfect - long may this reign. Boots are back for all you editors. I think that the lighting of the boots has been increased to further emphasize it. Overall (based on the demo) I give a 9.5 rating. The negatives, The stats are shit once more. Rooney has 1v1* as well as scoring*. same as tevez. Nando was shit on from a great height; technique on par with Kuyt (no offense meant), and shot technique of 79:no:no:no . Gerrard still has the sloppy response of 76:(:(. Don't use Alonso, his turning is grannie-esque. Rooney faster than Torres, J.S park is like Ronaldo on speed. Reina!! oh no, keeper skill 78????, that's wrong. Those are the most obvious for now, they seem to be consistent in getting the other 'big' teams well or overrating a bit which i don't really mind. They just need to do a better research or hire one of the fellows from the numerous fan sites, 10k should go a long way correcting the dross they put out regularly. The fouls are excessive and penalties are still quite cheap. more could be done. Transfers are still poor. major updates will be needed. Complete teams are not present. They don't need to include the academy, but bright players should be included like Nemeth, its not that hard. I still fancy untucked shirts which i am yet to see. but hopefully this is just a demo. Thankfully, the major negatives could be corrected manually. so i expect the fansites to get to work asap. BTW,coop which fansite are you with?, where do you upload your option files and patches? There seems to be a lot of LFC editors and patchers. Any one else apart from coop here? Cheers (sorry for the long post.

  10. Been on a few sites like evo-web and pesgaming but I haven't seen an option file that has the players stats updated or altered to match the player's stats on football manager (which in my opinion has more realistic stats). Any ideas or recommendations? BTW, ps2 is my platform. I also would like to know if there are any OF makers on here because i see a lot of liverpool fans on the pes fans sites involved in this. Thanks
  11. Oh well Arsenal will be able to say to their children and grandchildren that they had a good run in 2008 and had high hopes.... until they met the redmen. Arsenal will have others years to attempt this title, for now they can concentrate on the league, they are already eliminated from the CL.
  12. IT'S OFFICIAL: REDMEN ARE THE BEST Jimmy Rice 13 March 2008 For years we've put our domestic and European triumphs down to the tactical nous of Messrs Shankly, Paisley and Benitez. But now it seems another factor has been in play. New research suggests teams who play in red jerseys are the most successful. Analysis of post-war league results in England shows teams whose strips are predominantly red win more often, get more points and finish higher in the league on average compared with those who wear other colours. Scientists believe the colour can confer an advantage in competitive sports because opponents subconsciously associate it with aggression and dominance. Professor Martin Attrill, of the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Plymouth, said: "Previous evidence from studies on combat sports and psychological tests suggest that competitors wearing red perform better than average. "It is believed the colour can stimulate deep-rooted aggressive and dominance in competitive situations. Similarly research shows players who encounter opponents in red display more defensive reactions." The researchers, whose work is due to be published later this year in the Journal of Sports Sciences, looked at the percentage of home wins and average points per game for 68 top clubs playing primarily in red, blue, white, yellow/orange and other between 1947 and 2003. Teams with red strips were found to have won the league 60 per cent of the time, compared with 20 per cent for those in blue, despite more wearing blue. They gained an average of 1.84 points per home game, compared with around 1.79 for blue and white teams and 1.75 for those playing in orange or yellow. All results were standardised to three points for a win, a change introduced in 1981. Merseyside provides all the evidence needed that red brings more glory than blue, though trends in Manchester and north London also support the findings. Other football towns where red was deemed best were Nottingham, Bristol, Stoke and east London. Sheffield United were the only team with a red home kit who did worse than their non-red rivals – Sheffield Wednesday. LINK
