AM is definitely great so they're in the club. I still think Suck It and See is superb but AM was far better.

I'd go with; Cook Hameed Root Bairstow Ali Stokes Buttler Woakes Rashid Broad Finn Duckett may well have played his way into the side though, and I'd have no complaints whatsoever if he were selected.

That would be a backward step and raise more questions than answers. Not worth the hassle for a meaningless 3 match series against Bangladesh. Give the young guys a chance to improve how they play spin.

Saw Deepwater Horizon last night and thought it was excellent. 9/10.

Finally got up to speed with House of Cards last night. Thought the first 2 series were OK but binned it off for a bit. The 3rd and 4th series were much better, still no character with an ounce of personality though. Nowhere near the West Wing's level, 6.5/10 overall.

Anyone else surprised that Root hasn't been named captain in Morgan's absence? Surely this means he's being rested for the Bangladesh trip (or at least the limited overs leg of it)?

Root captained Yorkshire in a few games a couple of years back. Didn't hide the fact that it was to give him experience before he got the England captaincy.

I think that's what will happen in Bangladesh and India, as we tried last winter. It could work as long as we don't make Ali open again.

I'd stick with Hales for a while, more because of the lack of an obvious alternative it has to be said, but he has played the odd decent innings. Vince and Ballance have to go for me though. I'd like us to play Cook, Hales, Root, Bairstow, Borthwick, Stokes and Buttler in our next Test.

Star Trek Beyond - 8/10. Really enjoyed it, as I have with the other two. Probably should watch some of the originals at some point.

Bairstow batting at 8 is ridiculous. Even 7 is far too low. I'd have him at 4 or 5 with Buttler keeping.

Reni broke his ribs and was ordered to rest for a month which may explain any absence. They had to cancel a couple of gigs in Japan because of it.
