  1. I'm so excited to watch us at the moment. God forbid we lose, my missus is in for a terrible time. I'm literally reading every article, listening to every podcast. I hadn't thought of watching 2005 again. That's Wednesday afternoon sorted.
  2. I missed it until they talked about it on the Anfield Wrap, but Hendo's excited little skip when Sturridge does the backheel is awesome. "You should've seen em mum, they were amazing today!"
  3. We will need more players adaptable to our style next season...is he just having a good season or is he actually a good player though? I only really watch our games
  4. Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio Rua rua tko 3rd C.B. 5. Sturridge's lob against West Brom is worthy of a mention
  6. The treble season was the exception to the rule with Heskey though. I know he played wide at times as time wore on, but there were months at a time where he wouldn't score, or even get into a position where he could.
  7. There's a club in Bromley called Beavers. I don't think you'll get bummed in there though
  8. Vacant UFC Welterweight title Johny Hendrix vs Robbie Lawler Hendricks 2nd TKO Carlos Condit vs Tyron Woodley Condit UD Diego Sanchez vs Myles Jury Sanchez SD Jake Shields vs Hector Lombard Shields SD Ovince St Preux vs Nikita Krylov St Preux UD
  9. I don't think he's as bad as popular belief about him. But he's not as good as he thinks he is. And he's not good enough for us. I'd always take someone like him who misses chances over someone like Heskey who seemed to go weeks without ever getting a chance though. He does at least pop up in the right areas. The problem is, he doesn't make the most of that.
  10. Watched them all in one go this morning. Very enjoyable I thought. I don't know enough about the subject to know how factually correct it was, but very enjoyable nonetheless. What they said at the end about Austria and Russia being the last to declare war on each other in the end...mental.
  11. Ealing is a slap from the centre of town, mate. Isle of dogs has good transport links and is pretty quiet of a night time, although I'm not an expert on what you might pay for accommodation round there. If you do decide to do the cable car, you'd be a couple of stops away from that too. And you'd then end up at the O2 if you want to do the walk over that. There isn't a great deal to do at the north side of the cable car unless there's an exhibition at the excel centre which interests you. A lot of the shows you can pick up on the day tickets quite cheap, but I dunno if that'll be on the agenda with little ones? I'd recommend the Woman in Black if it is.
  12. It can't have been a dive, Jose doesn't stand for that kind of thing
  13. "Italian football is a top level and I follow it assiduously..." No way did Luis say this.

  15. The bird taking notes for his brief is very nice, keep an eye out.
  16. It's the first time I've watched that Sunday lunchtime MOTD, and I noticed that too. Insightful, and his playing experience and knowledge of the game from a player's point of view added value. Seems silly to compliment him on that, they should all be doing it, but most of them aren't.
  17. I didn't mention it. You mentioned it. It's a convoluted debate that I didn't want to enter into before I went out, as I explained. We can talk about it all you like, now,if you like.
  18. I didn't mention corruption, and I don't want to get into a discussion about it, mainly because I'm off round the boozer now to support Fabio. I don't think it's an outlandish suggestion myself, but I think it's probably more subtle than say, a club paying off a ref. I think it's more likely that pressure is exerted on refs by players and managers, and then those clubs doing their utmost to make sure they get the "persuadable" ones more often. Not through payments, but pressure through the media and being well represented in the upper echelons of the organising bodies. Selection of refs for certain fixtures makes it possible for this to occur. Random selection would be much better. There are also very good reasons why people wouldn't blow the whistle on it. All this said, I'm not saying corruption exists, just that it could. My original point was about the quality of refereeing, and I know it's very contrary of me to post on a discussion forum and then say I don't want to get into a discussion about it. But I'm off to the pub.
  19. I do think it would help sometimes if they explained their decisions. Maybe they don't want to go in front of a camera and that's fine, but a statement along the lines of "my view was obscured by other players", or whatever would help. That said, without dredging up old decisions some of them are inexplicable and they may feel coming out and admitting that would affect their authority in future games.
  20. First time for everything. I honestly can't remember a time in my life where refereeing has been consistently as bad. I do a bit of it myself sometimes under duress, and it is a difficult job. But it's always been difficult job, why are there more obvious errors now? Or do I just perceive there to be more because of the nature of the round the clock media coverage we have now as opposed to when I was a kid? I can't vote in this because there's so many on that list who give me a sense of foreboding when I know they have our games. Webb and Mason because of their history of bad decisions with us. Friend, Probert, Jones are incompetent. It's probably easier to name the ones I don't mind.
  21. Mine are just underneath yours Kal. All in all,not a great card I thought.
  22. Another bad stoppage from Herb in the main event I thought. By the look on his face as Rousey celebrated, I think he knew it too.
  23. Ronda Rousey sub 1 Daniel Cormier UD Rory MacDonald UD Pyle sd Robert Whittaker TKO 2 Alexis Davis ud Raphael Assuncao ud
