We had 22 goal attempts, hit the post twice, had a strong penalty claim and forced a couple of really good saves from Howard. We were looking dangerous up until they scored. It was always going to be tough once we fell behind because they threw 11 men behind the ball. The margin of defeat was clearly not reflective of the balance of play. All 3 goals were the result of bad defensive errors from first teamers. All 3 were scored against the run of play...the last one when we were playing with 10 men. If the back 4 had played anything close to their usual standard, we would have had a great chance of 3 points.

There was nothing wrong with the team selection. With the team Rafa put out, we had more than enough quality to turn them over. It was silly mistakes by normally reliable players like Carra, Finnan and Hyppia that cost us.

Just a fucking awful day. Nothing went for us. Momo and Dirk the only silver linings.

Why do they need start a public smear campaign after the guy has left? If what they say is true (and we have only heard Chelsea's side of the story), they are merely lowering themselves to the player's level. The Chelsea PR department is a joke and consistently proves that money buys neither class nor dignity.

To even compare the current situation with Chelsea's limitless budget to the resources of United in the 90's or LFC in the 80's is ludicrous. The spending of both us and United has always been linked to revenue and success on the pitch. Chelsea is effectively run like a charity. It doesn't matter how big a loss they make or how well they do on the pitch, Roman will keep financing massive transfer budgets. Of course, the top teams all have a financial advantage over the rest...but they are still forced to be prudent in their spending. Chelsea is the first side EVER that can afford to regularly spend 20-30 million on flops and not have to worry about staying solvent. There is no remotely similar case in English football history and it is pure self-delusion for any Chelsea fan to suggest as much.
