The care sector was battered by austerity, the tories pulverised councils and essentially forced many of them to offload their homes to the private sector, which cut corners and hired people on the cheap, loads of twats got paid. The care sector should be taken over by the government, or at least administered by it, because it's bankrupting councils. It should sit adjacent to the NHS, well paid, with good training so there's career and promotion prospects that lets people move between the two. Fund it with a separate tax if needed, nobody would say no.

Women's rights, gay rights shouldn't be conflated with trans rights. Should a gay footballer be allowed to play football? Yes, should a women be considered for a job she's qualified for? Yes, should a transgender person be allowed to get a job, change their name, wear what they want, Yes. But "trans rights" in the current context isn't anything like that, it's "the right" of men to go into Women's spaces where women feel uncomfortable, or to out compete them at their own sports (or possibly even injur them) and, in some cases, people are fired/censured/ostracised for not agreeing to it. That's not the same thing, at all.

I think we'll look back at this era and realise how bonkers it was. I've personally no desire to march in support of some Lou Ferrigno type effort who wants to go back in the women's weights division so he can build up his gold medal haul, hardly some back of the bus in Alabama style shit that.

Daredevil born again, 8/10. Didn't have high hopes due to Disney's paw prints as I loved the original Netflix version, but Disney scrapped the naff original reboot and started again with the original adult, darker tone. It's excellent, still somehow different from the original and darker in some ways, with Wilson Fisk playing a Trump style mayor. Michael Gandolfini is actually really good as his fanboy spin doctor too. Charlie Cox is brilliant as ever, criminally underrated actor given his showing in Kin too. And The Punisher is class, was pissing myself at some of his lines.
