  1. Hi Brownie, hope you get well soon. I find that we lack a certain ruthlessness in our play, especially in front of goal. Too many players in the squad, are for the lack of better words, quite mediocre. I appreciate the efforts of the entire team, but I kept feeling that many players just don't quite cut it. Even when we are winning well of late, I find goals coming in as a result of doggedly grinding down opposition instead of breathless creative sparks. I blame Gillette and Hicks for not having the capacity to finance a bigger squad of top players. If other clubs strengthen their squads, we may be in danger of challenging for 4th place, year after year. If Gillette and Hicks cannot afford the dreams and aspirations of this club, they should just magnanimously admit it and pass on the mantle to someone else who can.
  2. I hate Man U with a passion, but there is a big difference between, winning the rest of our games, what the runnerup does is irrelevant and winning the rest of our games and hope the leader drops 6 points. Seeing my mates trying to guess/hope which game Man U is gonna slip up is honestly both sad and pathetic. We should have been in a far better position than this, we only have ourselves to blame.
  3. Its almost all over now. I actually made it a point to watch ManUre vs City. As painful as it is, the filth ain't gonna slip up now. Ultimately, you don't become champions by hoping for others to slip up. If you do, you're an undeserving champion anyway.
  4. Was it my imagination or the Rafa song has gone really limp these days? Are we turning against our manager? In Hicks and Gillett we trust now?
  5. I'm so glad that booing our own team is not the uniquely Liverpool way
  6. Thats the difference between King Kenny and common whiners
  7. I come from across the world. I had to wake up at 4 am to watch this game. Yes, I am disappointed that we crawled to the top of the table rather than having an emphatic 5-0 statement of intent to the rest of the league. Neither do I think for a moment that Rafa and the team are ecstatic about our recent performances. Rafa's post match comments were merely to keep morale up and rightfully so. We are at the top of the table and we have that position to defend. We're not gonna do that with no hopes in our hearts. Speaking of which, the boos after the match made the song "you'll never walk alone" really corny and meaningless. I supported Liverpool all my life because I thought the fans were different.
  8. Oh no, it will be like Millwall winning the FA Cup
  9. Shocking. From a player who missed a sitter at the Old Toilet purely due to lack of composure. How could it be possible for a player to go from so good to so shit? More than anybody else, Cisse himself must be asking questions. If he could reproduce that sort of form in front of goal for us, he is 30 goal a season without a doubt. If Rafa can keep faith with Kewell on the strength of past glories, did he see this video?
  10. Seeing the way Rafa rejuvenated Kewell, I'm sure Fowler will be banging them in for us again.
  11. I believe Fowler can use the flick ons from Crouch must better than Cisse. He is an intelligent player. His heart is Liverpool always. Only he has the audacity to shoot where other strikers dream of. But its not gonna happen. Rafa buys for the future and not really stop gap measures these days.
  12. I'm too damned piss drunk to read the entire thread. Please excuse me if I state the already stated responses. A couple of seasons ago, it was defend deeply, hit the long ball for Owen to chase and finish off. Now, we have goals coming from every direction. I quite like it this way.
  13. Well Jol, When you said you were gonna attack Liverpool, I really didn't think of counter attack. Spurs never built on an attack, mostly on slip ups from us going forward. And they paid the price once we're a goal ahead and we're stroking the ball around inducing corners and throw ins. When I saw Fowler against the Mancs, he would have fitted so well into the Gospel according to Rafa. A hugely intelligent forward who brings others into the game and takes his chances with unerring finish. Moreso, someone who would have given his all for Liverpool. Ah well, so we sold him. Walk on
  14. The boys looked a bit lethargic, we had problems getting our passing game in place and tended to be slower on man to man challenges. There were simply not enough off the ball running into positions and thus our usual fluency could not be imposed. Can only attribute it to fatique. We may have a big squad but somehow the rest of the squad players are not gelling into the main team yet as evidenced by the number of wayward passes. We're not there yet, but we will.
