Time to face reality. We haven't won the league for 20 years. We haven't been in the CL since 2009, we were not in Europe last year. Why the fuck would the managers you mentioned, such as Capello, Rijkaard, Van Gaal or AVB even touch us? Only one that would is Rafa, and for whatever reason, probably the fact he's already been here and got sacked once, he wasn't approached. I don't really see what the problem with Rodgers is, other than him not being Kenny. It's about time some people just got behind him and you know, support the team. What's done is done, you can't change it. I'm sure Barca fans had reservations when Guardiola took over, I'm sure Valencia fans were thinking "Who the fuck" when Rafa took over. It's called taking a chance on someone. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Picked this up for a fiver the other day so I got a summer of FM12. Started unemployed and got offered the GB job for the olympics, which I won. Gerrard was captain and Welbeck just destroyed teams on his own. Then I was unemployed again and shortly after the second season I was given the job at Valencia. They were 7th and not in europe or anything. Signed Sturridge on a free and a promising spanish right back, saw some immense players in the youth team so called them up as well. Also took a punt on getting Carroll in on loan. He scored a hattrick on his debut, I thought "well, big Andy is gonna be on fire for me." The next game he scored was the last game of the season... We ended up 2nd, 6 points behind Barca. Who scored 143 goals. The young players are getting stronger every day and I have now signed Balotelli on loan this season.

Platini is a smelly quim. Horrible corrupt slimy twat. Racist to boot as well. Hates everything but France. Still fuming how he gave 2016s tournament to France and said "When turkey have their own president, they can host the euros" Add that to the fact that the French delegation knew the night before they even voted on it that they had the tournament. Platini can go shove a hairbush up his arse. Any racism this year will be dealt with by apathy and a small fine. Just like the FA, uega don't give a fuck about anything other than money. Actually, I lie, at least the FA care enough about shit to be hypocrites about it. Uefa are just blatantly corrupt.

Doesn't matter if he is from Swansea, or Forest Green Rovers. What you said there is what I think of the appointment. I don't have an opinion either way on Rodgers, he's a talented manager, that is obvious. He plays football we all want Liverpool to play. For this reason I am optimistic. We'll see how it goes though. It could be brilliant, it could be more of the same. Difference between my view and others is that I don't hate the fact that he's "not Kenny" which is the reason why people are up in arms about this appointment on the whole.

Just because it was Kenny, aye. What then, if he came 8th again next year without a cup? Oh yeah, let's give him another year, it's Kenny. Fair enough if Kenny was still in his 40s, but we all knew that he couldn't be the guy to do the next 5 years with us. Personally, I was disappointed when they gave him the job full time because I knew that this is the sort of reaction that would happen if FSG had to remove him. I would have preferred the initial plan, where he took over temporarily and we got a new manager last summer. Mainly because it would hurt that little more when he did go.

My point is, 8th is unacceptable, no matter who is the manager. Hell, we have replaced managers who have finished higher in the league than that. Kenny is a legend, don't get me wrong but the idea that it is ok to come 8th because it is him just doesn't sit with me.

If it was anyone other than kenny though, people would be all right with getting rid of a manager who finished 8th. This is what makes me want to bang my head on a desk.

I get a little annoyed at how he does that in the book. Basically builds up a story, builds up a huge arc and makes you think that something huge is going to happen and you get invested in the journey. Then BAM dead. Granted in this story dead isnt necessarily dead, I'm still expecting Eddard to pop up without a head somewhere Rickon is on some island somewhere from what I remember.

Simple answer would have been: terry not going because of his trial and a player should not represent his country while being prosecuted. Ferdinand not going because his body cant hack it. That is how it should have been handled from the start.

Pretty much par for the course. Reading the books isn't that much clearer. Westeros is a clusterfuck basically. Men are fighting between themselves and the ice zombies are coming back, as they do at winter. The nights watch are supposed to stop them, but they are understaffed. Joffrey, being a cunt, fucked over the Starks who looked after the north by chopping off bean's head which has started a big fuck up. So Stark's son and wife are wanting to destroy him and leaving the north. The dead kings brother knows that Joffrey isn't the kings son, but is the son of the queen and her brother so he is also after him to be king. Daenerys with her dragons is the last of the house targeryan which is the house from the king who was deposed by Robert the king who got killed in the first series. She is on the other continent after fleeing during the war when she was very young. Otherwise Robert would have killed her and her brother. She also thinks that she is queen.

There are not too many successful managers in history who have just succeeded everywhere they have ever been, Shanks failed at a few places before he came to Liverpool, Rafa failed in lower leagues before Valencia. What matters is what happens when they do get that big team. Rodgers might well be awesome, he might well be a flop. We'll see when the season starts, in the meantime its pretty disheartening to see him being written off just because his CV isn't as good on paper as some. Well, not as a manager anyway. There is something to be said about him learning his trade under Mourinho and across Europe.

Rodgers brought a team up from the championship, on a budget that is a fraction of ours. He then took that team and made us look like amateurs at home and away. This team finished just 5 behind us in the league. Their entire playing squad cost not even half of what we spent in the summer. Of course he's a good manager. We'll see what he does with a big team, he has deserved his chance. All these yahoos who moan about him not winning anything yet, well, we are taking a chance, much like the Liverpool of old. Most of the times we did that, it paid off. A young, hungry manager with a vision and motivation is what we need now. Dare I say it, but we need someone with the same drive as purple nose had to take this club back to the peak. Rodgers ticks the boxes, he's just not some fancy dan name that would have the "world class" reputation mark next to it on Football manager, of which life isn't.

I just got it. This is one of those spot the pattern thingies from maths exams. Well. 6 is the base number . 7-1 = 6 so the next logical number in the pattern has to be 219. As 19-2 =17. So Rodgers will be in the liverpool job for 219 months. Nice innings. (if the world doesn't end)

In 6 months if we are playing pass and move attacking beautiful football but still in the same position as we are now I don't know what I'd be thinking. I'd feel like an Arsenal fan at that point. In 2 years, if we are still doing it and actually winning trophies, then I'd be happy. That's how I feel about the appointment, give the guy some support.
