  1. What I hate most is the song they play as the players come out, and after every goal - "Get Ready For This" I think it's called...... "der der de der........ de de der der" and they all clap along like fucking seals. Bunch of disgusting fuckpigs. As maybe you can tell, I'm not overly fond of the Boro either.
  2. One of my all time favourites that one. I love the line "You can see a million miles tonight but you can't get very far."
  3. I once received a letter at work with some atrocious grammar and spelling. The guy signed the bottom with "please forgive my riting as I am dipthectic". I thought it was quite funny.
  4. 2 things. 1. Lucky bastard being at Isle of Wight in 1970. I would've loved that. My dad was there but can't remember much (!) 2. Saw Bob Dylan last year and he was awful. Still a legend but a terrible terrible gig.
  5. In no particular order..... Counting Crows, Royal Court 1997, great gig and then went drinking with the band after, which was cool Ryan Adams, Royal Court 2004, where he fell off the stage and broke his wrist. Amazing gig, which was strange cos when I saw him in Manchester in 2003 it was the shittest gig ever. Oasis, Knebworth and Maine Road, just for the "I was there" factor. Not actually a huge fan anymore. Smashing Pumpkins, 2000 in Manchester, the farewell tour. Only time the moshing has slightly alarmed me. Primal Scream, many occasions, just a great band. And last.... Moby in 1995. Wasnt expecting anything but was stunned by how good a performer he was.
  6. I love the way they mix it up live. Very rarely is a song exactly the same as the recorded version. Too many bands just play the album exactly as it is recorded. Why go a gig when you can hear it on your stereo? But with Counting Crows, every song played live is different, and different from show to show as well.
  7. First dance at my wedding was Sullivan Street. Maybe not 100% appropriate lyric wise but the vibe was great and I will remember it forever. But for insecure love, Anna Begins is the ultimate
  8. Gosford Park - pointless and shit as well. The only time I have ever got close to walking out the cinema. I tried to watch it again on TV recently because everyone else seems to think it is a classic, I thought maybe I had missed something. But no, it was as shit as ever.
  9. I would refuse to have one. How far I would go if pressed I don't know and would depend on the situation at the time, but they are not a good thing at all. I used to think otherwise but have recently changed my mind after some research. The reasons above explain my point of view very well.
  10. Primal Scream - pure rock n roll, fucking hilarious (and correct) with their opinion on Basement Jaxx. Brilliant band, always makes me laugh when you see so many of the crowd expecting to hear Screamadelica played live, and the looks on their faces when the Scream rip into the XTRMNTR, Vanishing Point and evil heat songs. Fucking class.
  11. Yes, the Big Yellow Taxi idea wasn't one of their best. Annoying that it became their biggest hit. I've seen them a fair few times, and met them too. Sound bunch of fellas. I'm not a mad stalker type or anything, but like you they are my most loved band. Only Ryan Adams comes close, for the music anyway. As a person, he is a wanker of the highest order.
  12. They've never quite hit the heights of AAEA in my opinion but every album since has been class as well. Consistently good band!
  13. Difficult to pick just 5 but currently I would say 5. Ryan Adams - heartbreaker. 4. Smashing Pumpkins - Adore (parts of Mellon Collie are better but for me Adore is the most consistently good Pumpkins album) 3. Muse - Absolution Top 2 are always the same for me 2. Primal Scream - Screamadelica 1. Counting Crows - August & Everything After Honourable mentions to albums from Ash, Charltans, Doves, Jeff Buckley and many many others I can't remember right now.
  14. So are HB Torshavn from Lithuania and FBK Kaunas from Faroe Islands? Getting ahead of myself really, we have got to get past TNS first........
  15. I am a PI solicitor in Liverpool and I could help. PM me if you want details mate.
  16. Fuck's sake. Yes we've been fucked over by the FA, but we knew we wouldn't qualify direct without finishing 4th or above. We didn't and should be happy we're in it next year at all. Of course it's not ideal but should we tell them to stick it? Even without European football who's to say we'll get in the top 4 in the PL next year? No fucking guarantees there either way. We tell UEFA to stick their CL place, then finish out of the top 4. Great season that's gonna be.
  17. Just think if we were to go through all the qualifiers and win the thing again! How much of a big FUCK YOU would that be to one and all? And beating the bitters on the way would be very sweet.
  18. Another Oob fan! Great band, shame they went their separate ways. Great songs but my fave is probably Golden Fall (B side to Shorley Wall)
  19. A foreign league where the pace of the game is slower may suit him. Best of luck to the Croatian Love God!
  20. In fairness he probably hasnt. It takes a while to prepare the case and get it to a hearing. Doesn't change the fact that he should shut up and concentrate on justifying his wages.
  21. Anyone know if they intend to release the CL final on its own in full? Highlights are great but I'd like the full game on a separate DVD.
  22. The man almost took us back to the top, but just fell short. Hoepfully Rafa can now finish the job. But Gerard gave us some great times, the 2001 FA Cup final for me is only beaten by last week in Istanbul (not old enough for pre-late 80's glory)
  23. It would be a classic comedy moment if it was deliberate but I get the feeling Lucas felt it was the ultimate in emotional dialogue
  24. I liked it overall. One major problem for me was at the crucial moment when Darth Vader was shown in all his suited glory, and was told his wife was dead. The baddest villain in movie history then threw his arms up and bellowed "Nooooooooooooooooooooo!" in camp anguish. It should have been one of the darkest moments of the film and instead I was pissing myself laughing.
