I'd take Konchesky over Bridge any day. No reason you couldn't challenge for the title with him in the side and I think most people are realistically hoping for a top four finish. I'm sure if the yanks clear off it'd be one of the first positions we'd look to upgrade but I'd prefer to spend the maximum amount of money on a backup/compliment to Torres.

It's the £15m as well that makes me think it's bs. I'd love to see it happen but surely Etoo would be valued at more than £10m?

Don't think anyone should delude themselves about Remy only wanting to play for Liverpool but at the same time I'm sure if there's a chance he might be able to go to a club of the calibre of Liverpool or Arsenal I'm sure he's prefer that to the likes of West Ham. I'd imagine this will drag on as both Arsenal and ourselves have more pressing concerns in there squad.

I sincerely hope Drogba doesn't go to City, chelsea would go all out for Torres then.

The Happy Rumour Mill (Takeover bids, transfer talks etc)

Which Twitter sources are these? Having read Roys comments about him it's hard to believe we're interested but the likes of lequipe who I assume is a reliable source are pretty adamant that we are lose to signing him. -

There's no way we'll be paying him 120k a week if he does sign for us. If as we are led to believe it is us, Arsenal and Spurs that are competing for his signature, none of these would be willing to pay asnything like that is wages. I'd guess it'd be more like the 80k we were reported to have offered originally. -
Of the available cb's I'd go for Cahill, quick and good in the air addressing our two needs in the cb position. He'd compliment Agger perfectly and hopefully would not cost much more than Skrtel if we were to offload him.

Haven't seen anything in Cavani to feel we've missed out, Kjaer looks like he has huge potential but still prone to the odd mistake, whether he can eliminate these mistakes will determine if he can develop into a world class defender.

The thing about Dunphy is you're not supposed to take him serious, there's nothing as entertaining as Dunphy after United lose, he goes completely over the top, they're finished and there's something fundamentally wrong with them etc and gives them a good kicking. He's less entertaining when he's bullshitting on about Liverpool mind.

The Happy Rumour Mill (Takeover bids, transfer talks etc)

Just read Oli Kays webchat, he seems less certain Chelsea are going to go for Torres, saying he thinks they wildly overestimated our financial problems and that the possible bid of £40m was laughable. -
will you sell the kid for 77 million pounds?

I can't remember which pro Liverpool journo said something along the lines of Torres either has real affection for Liverpool or he has a brillant PR machine behind him. Hopefully it's the former and he won't join another english club but given that the lik.es of Tony Barret seem to think he's given Chelsea plenty of encouragement I fear it's more likely to be the latter and is further proof of the fact that modern day football is shit -

So our lifelong chelsea supporting chairman might be overseeing the sale of our most important player to Chelsea. Thanks DM. -

I really hope Torres doesn't go to Chelsea, I would of dismissed that out of hand prior to this year and I'd have to admit I would of thought Torres had more respect for the fans but the fact the respected journos seem to be saying it's more likely than not to happen. -
Haven't seen enough of him to judge but would he be pushing for a first team plave i.e. if we assume Carra/Agger are the first choice pairing for next year is he a replacement for Skrtel/Kyrgiakos?

4 years of steady decline? Personnaly I think it's time for Rafa to go after the disaster of last year but I'm sure if you asked Torres and Gerrard at the end of last year if they were after going through 3 yyears of steady decline they might not agree -

I'd of played him on the left, it's where he mostly played for madrid if i remember correctly

It's amazing to think he's out of the picture with Argentinian given the problems they've had in both fullback positions, I think they're playing 4 centrehalves at the back now.

I think that's the feeling all round these days. The thing is I don't want to feel like this, footbal is something that's given me a lot of joy over the years but couldn't be arsed the way things are at the moment. I think it's the inevitability of it all. We won't finish in the top 4, Torres et al will bugger off and we'll be stuck with the two leeches. If we were given it a go and finishing 6th/7th so be it but it's the fact that we're paying for those two c&*ts to run us into the ground that has me feeling this way.

I'd go for Rijkaard, his teams play great football and regardless of the fact that things went tits up in the end he did a fantastic job at Barca and really turned them around. I'd be tempted to go for Magath but I think his styand offish approach is too similar to Rafa's and a fresh start is needed.
