  1. Bad luck yesterday yes, but if we do our job at home against Olympiakos yesterdays result counts for nothing. 1-0 at home sees us through. If the Greeks score we need 3 goals. Does anybody here remember St Etienne?
  2. Two days ago I really thought Rafa did a big mistake leaving Mellor on the bench against Boro. Yesterday he gave him a chance. I still think he should have played Mellor on Saturday, but I’m no longer that sure it was a huge mistake. I agree Mellor got absolutely no help yesterday. Nevertheless the game yesterday suggests that Mellor isn't good enough at this level. I'd like to see him get a couple of more games at top level though before writing him off completely.
  3. In the last 20 minutes of the match yesterday I was screaming for Alonso. We were too impatient and started kicking long balls from defence with no effect (of course). Alonso could have calmed things down and given us the opportunity to play through our midfield. The problem was we’d used all our subs. However, I quite understand Rafas decision to do whatever he could to keep width to our game, thus replacing Hamann with Warnock. It proved to be a bad substitution with Warnock being too geared up (and Kewell awful once again I must add). Had we not had the two injuries I’m quite sure Rafa would have thrown Alonso in at the end of the match. I believe that could have turned things around.
  4. Can anyone tell me how to paste pics in the posts?
  5. No confidence in Mellor-boy? It’s only been a week since he last scored two against them. This time he has Alonso and Gerrard to feed him with balls. Disaster? I don’t think so. I really hope Rafa gives Mellor the nod, and I believe he will. If Mellor can’t get into the team now, I see no reason for him so stay. So go on Mellor-boy, prove to us you’re up to the task! Kill Boro for us, then top it off with a winner against he arses. Can you do it? I actually think you can. Go out there son and grab this golden opportunity!
  6. He'd think it's Josemi himself. Looks like Manuel, I bet he speaks like him as well. That's it, go up to Rafa's house, ring the bell, when the door opens just drift inside as Josemi would have. Go Maaanuuueelll!
  7. You're right. Credit should be given to you. I'm in Amen-mood today, so Amen to you too. You've allready spoken to Rafa I see. He isn't much of a listener is he? Call him again, Paul. This time, tell him hard! :wallbutt:
  8. JamesA. Your comments of Oct 5th are now proven to be spot on! Tell Rafa, please! Anyone got Rafa's number? Give it to JamesA. Amen
  9. Couldn't agree more. Josemi's positional play was awful. Together with his lack of speed it's been a problem for several games now, yesterdays game beeing all time low. He cuts inside leaving acres of space for oposition wingers. In my opinion he was responsible for both the conceded goals. Earlier we've seen him fall asleep when our defence tries to play op. offiside. The one thing you don't want when playing the offside trap is a full back leaving op. onside. Like everybody else here I'd like to see Finnan play in his position next match. I don't want to critzise Rafa yet, but it does worry me a bit that Rafa's summer signings seems to be given the nod no matter how bad they've played in previous games.
  10. I really like his style of play, the way he moves. Top scorer or not in France means nothing. The English game is different. Cisse (God rest his leg) is proof I'm afraid. I think Morientes is exactly the kind of player we need.
  11. Nice article. Not that I care much about Owen these days. I hope he'll keep on scoring though, at least until christmas. I really do think Morientes would be a brilliant signing.
  12. Apology taken. I learned my English listening to Liverpool matches on the radio as a kid. My blood's been red since before I can remember. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Sorry if I did. By the way that drugs thing was a matter of speech, thinking you lot expect a loyalty from our players I wouldn't even dear to dream about. Maybe it wasn't the best way to introduce myself, didn't know there were so many angry bees in here to sting me. Anyway, I'm just happy you lot liked my song so much. Thanks! Cheers!
  13. None, they're all shite, ugly looking retards! Didn't know Zidane, Ronaldo, Raul had offers from that Russian prick. Gerrard did, he turned him down.
  14. You demand too much. He turned Chelsea down where 99 of 100 would not, still that's not good enough for you. We've had other locals, Owen, McManaman. Thank god he's not like them.
  15. Rest assured, this is no wind up. I really mean what I say. You might find it just tosh, but it is still what JustTosh thinks. I'm sorry if I upset you. Your'e right I'm new here, and I didn't know you discussed this last week. I'll have one more go, then I'll rest my case. In my world Steven has made a sacrifice to stay with us. I think it’s sad and disgraceful he’s not given any credit for that. I may stand alone, but I love him for it, no matter how clumsy he reached his decision. Let’s say Alonso got an offer from Real Madrid this summer that would double his pay-cheque. Do you really think he would reject? Do you even think he would have any doubts? No? Well, Riise then? No? Baros? Give me one name, except maybe Carra, that would actually turn down an offer like the one Steven got. Please! If you can’t bare the thought of singing songs to honour our captain, no wonder there’s silence on the stands theses days. By the way, you acuusing me of being a blue-shite, actually hurts. Still, cheers to you all 8)
  16. About time you guys came down from that trip you’re on. I’ve lived long enough not to believe every word I read in the media. I only trust the simple facts. Fact 1: He had an offer from Chelsea. Fact 2: That offer was economically better than we could afford. Fact 3: He denied and chose to stay with us. Enough for me to state Fact 4: Steven is a giant of a man. He could probably have treated the matter better, then again who really knows what’s been said and what’s been twisted around by the media? Whatever; he’s young and didn’t anticipate the reactions. I can’t blame him for considering a major pay-raise, though. I really don’t believe my eyes, reading all the abuse about him. That drug you’re on must eventually wear off I hope. C’mon; he is our captain for crying out loud.
  17. What drugs are you all on? It’s certainly a good one, the way it brings you to a level far beyond reality. Here’s the fact: Steven Gerrard turn’s down a huge pay raise and decides to stay at the club he loves. What happens? You call him a cunt. His decision to stay wasn’t made firmly enough for you whiners, jeeezzus! If I were Steven I’d be very disappointed, maybe so much I’d take the money next summer. Steven Gerrard– one hell of a player! Steven Gerrard – on hell of a man! JustTosh
  18. This summer we were all gutted by the fact that Steven Gerrard considered leaving us. Now some doesn’t trust his passion for LFC anymore. I say, wake up! He’s probably the one and only player in topflight football today to say: “No, I don’t want to double my wages, I want to play for the club that I love!” He should be praised for his decision to stay, not criticized for considering a very tempting offer. However, his summer doubts has rubbed off on us. We’re all now in doubt. What about next season; will he stay or will he go? Can we do anything about it? I suggest we try. We could start with honouring him with songs. Besides, it’s probably not a bad idea to break up the 90 minutes of silence during home league games, so here’s my attempt: Mel: Liverpool Lou (you know that girl everybody said would deceive you) Oh Steven Gerrard, our Steven Gerrard You didn’t deceive us, Red-blooded you are You fill our poor hearts with passion so hard Stay home and love us, oh Steven Gerrard Putting down these words is probably one of the stupidest things I’ve done. The possibility of it ever being sung is way below zero I’m afraid. But I’d like to try anyway. Don’t like it? Then make a better one. JustTosh
  19. As a person and a player Emmo was the direct opposite of the lazy cheats and whiners we can see on the grounds nowadays. His pride and passion was immense. Great captain. Sad news. RIP Emlyn Hughes. Tom
  20. I was lucky enough to be able to attend our game this Saturday. The Brums were absolutely awful. It really should have been a trashing. Even with a very mediocre performance from our side, we were very unlucky not to win. In my opinion it was a bad game with a lack of effort from all our players. Their performance was echoed by the lack of effort from the fans. No songs, just an occasional “Liv-er-pool”, that was it! It was a bit embarrassing to hear the few away supporters taunting us for the silence. Do we really need a goal to start singing? I’ve seen many posts here and elsewhere criticizing OOT’s for the lack of atmosphere. Well, I’m afraid I’m one of those “tourists”. But I do know the words to quite a few of our songs and would be more than happy to sing along. That’s not very easy though, when no songs are sung. Surely you can’t expect a bloody Norwegian like myself to start the singing. Would have been a tiny bit out of place too, me thinks. Even with thousands of foreigners on the stands there has to be a lot of you local die-hard-fans there too. Isn’t that enough to get the singing started? Here’s a plea to you kopites: Please lead! I for one will follow to the best of my ability. Until next time (Fulham in February), cheers to you all! Tom PS: I got a copy of the last fanzine, top class, perfect mixture of serious comments and humour, hilariously funny actually. How do I subscribe?
