  1. He's a really good player in fairness. I can't say I've seen too much of him this year, but anytime I have he's looked very good.
  2. He's an absolute twit that fella. You would swear Arsenal just needed to show up. Looking at the Bayern team, you had seasoned winners at all levels. Their best player has won fuck all, but is one of the best players in the world. Arsenal might get to that level in the coming years, but right now they are the very talented protender. Clueless gobshites. It's like the bafflement from the media when Kane went to Bayern, like he'd gone to a pub team. One of the great clubs of world football with a decent chance of winning a Champions League every year and they couldn't get over it.
  3. Good post. From memory, West Ham don't play the night we play Everton which makes that a very tough Saturday game. It's funny though, even if Spurs had achieved their goal, I'd still worry about them and equally hold out hope for them against City. I have this hope Villa could do a number on Arsenal this weekend. A huge advantage we have is that we have numerous players coming back from injury at just the right time. Fair enough City will too but Arsenal have had a lot of luck in this regard.
  4. Kane is such a beautiful player. I genuinely find it hard to dislike him. He'd be a revalation here. Bayern look good too. Arsenal have become a very good team, but I can't help but feel that they're still the level below elite and a lot of mediocre teams have made them look exceptional recently. That's why I have a hope they drop a few points in the next seven games. I actually love seeing Bayern and Real scoring but the best thing is they both get through if I'm being honest.
  5. Surely the practical thing would be to put the game in Croke Park, which is over 80k. I personally have no issue with cities like Dublin getting big games. It's bad enough that UEFA have dilluted competitions where so many countries either won't make it into group competition, or are also rans if they do, without letting them get the chance of the biggest games. Better than Paris with dickhead police and a huge population of people who are seriously on the margins and who see fans as a target. At least in Dublin, their scals are basically the same as ours. Uefa always fuck up the allocation. It's a story as old as time.
  6. People need to forget about Alonso. He was a very good player here and became an outstanding one after he left us. Maybe he realises it's a bit of a poisoned challice coming here, but more likely he knows Ancelloti is leaving Real next year and that's the one he wants - not us or Bayern. I'm sure he likes us, no more than Suarez, Torres or Mascherano might, but if he really loves us, he'd come. He isn't so let's just move on. I know nothing about this guy, but he's tactically supposed to be very good.
  7. Good post. My gut is we'll drop points at Villa Park. Think we'll edge Spurs in a high scoring and nervy game. I have this feeling we'll smash Everton, but West Ham will be a horrible game that we'll just get over the line. The others will be okay I feel. I have this feeling Spurs will take points off the other two. We may get another surprise as well like Villa drawing at Arsenal or City at Brighton. We just need to hope City don't batter Luton this weekend so they don't edge ahead on the goal difference.
  8. A mate of mine from when I lived in London all them years ago is a Brighton season ticket holder. He adores him. Said the club and De Zerbi tried to manage his game time when he was belting the goals in, he lost momentum and has been picking up injuries here and there. Said his confidence is shot right now, but reckons he'll be top notch again in no time.
  9. Yeah me too. It's a bit like the game yesterday where we could hammer them of a given day or we could stupidly drop points. Hopefully they use up a bit of energy before they play us. Wonder when that City-Spurs game will be re-arranged for?
  10. That's exactly it. You can see nearly all four of the away games being tight affairs and he is one of the most clinical players in the game imo. I'm also worried about Spurs - they're genuinely a Russian Roulette team that can be shite or world class on a given day. I've no doubt they will take points off one of the three, but possibly all of us. Of course, without going back over previous points, if we create that level of chances in the coming games, there is a chance we could hit a team for six or seven. My best mate is an old school Blue and he actually said that to me this morning - he said our game with them could be like the Rush 5-0 game. Being honest, I'd taken any kind of three points there but we have a better chance of puting games to bed with Jota. I've no doubt if he was on the pitch against City, we would have won, while yesterday would have been over by half time.
  11. Jota might lead us to the title. We create so much that any decent finisher will get goals. Jota is world class imo. We just need him to stay fit. I always felt that he would be crucial on his return and the last few games have highlighted our wastefullness and how a sharp shooter like him is going to make a difference. Him and Macca linking up is a beautiful thought.
  12. Quansah gave them momentun at a time they were on their knees. I think if he doesn't make the mistake, we most likely would have added a second at some point and then maybe our play would have become less franetic and we could have turned in a good few goals on them. However. this is not on him. A number of players were poor and played the occasion - they do that at Goodison for one and it could be a long evening. Regardless of how 115 got there, judging them as a football team, I always think they manage occasions like today very well. That feels like our achilles heel at certain grounds. Ironically, Robbo can be guilty of being franetic at times, as can Mo, so this isn't purely on the younger ones. We are in this title race. Two games at home and hopefully ironing out some of the mistakes may give us a serious shot at the right time. The players to come back will be huge. In the two seasons we fell beyond City, I had this horrible feeling we would never catch them. Right now, I feel both could drop points. All to play for.
  13. Neither have had the injuries we have had. Neither have had the bad luck such as the Spurs game impact them like us. Today wasn't bad luck. It was sloppy. It's on us. Right now, we feel like the third best team. However, we are getting back a pile of players which will be huge. Arsenal lose Saliba or Rice...City lose Foden etc and maybe that will be the difference. Jota will be huge in the coming weeks. Rightly or wrongly, as shite as United are and as much as we should have battered them today, it's a horrible game boxed off. Villa may be the better team, but like fuck it is the occasion that Old Trafford always is. Yeah we've had some hillarious results there, but not many. When they were brilliant, they normally struggled at Anfield. It's a story as old as time. City being in the FA cup is great. Both still being in Europe is great.
  14. To be fair, it looked a great goal to me. The first one isn't on Qweef either imo.
  15. If we didn't play the occasion, it was easier than Villa today. But very hard not to take occasions into account. That's why Arsenal have to face that at Spurs. Possibly City too. United might be shite but they are still a team that could pull a result out of the hat. While Arsenal or City would have hit them for five today, they offer some chance that they could pull a result randomly. Hopefully, they get a few points in their coming games so they have to fight for something against Arsenal. If not, Arsenal will work that goal difference. It's maybe a good thing we have two home games now and Jota and Trent are back for the run in, which might be crucial in those three away games in the run in. Jota is arguably our only clinical player in attack.
  16. Fancy Arsenal to drop points but we just lost our protection and given how dominant we were in the first half, that was criminal. Harvey has been excellent again. We need to have him in the team. Quansah's mistake was horrendous but the attackers were so poor. For me, it's on them here. I was worried we would play the occasion and that's exactly what happened. We play our game and it's 21 points out of 21.
  17. Kenny maybe for the last 15 mins? Joking aside, if we don't walk away from this with 3 points, it's horrendous. We should be at least five up and that's me acknowledging you don't take every great chance. Jota will make a huge difference. As much as I rate all our attackers, they are all so wasteful.
  18. Your missus must have been in flying form last night Rushie! Hope to God she's apocalyptic come 5:30.
  19. If this happens I'll blame you and not the Altricham fan Babbsy lad.
  20. The FA cup loss could be a blessing in disguise. We were so nochalant against them and it bit us on the arse. At home in the league we could have had seven if we were competent. Genuinely one of the most frustrating games I've seen. Today, we are even 6/10 as a team and we win. If they have Casemiro out it will be a boost because even though he is past it, he was a top player and knows big games like this. Varane out is huge if he is out as we expect. Similar to Casemiro. No laughing at the back of the class, but Evans is a loss for them. He was a good defender in his day and has a bit of nous that kid isn't going to have. He might be a mid level Championship player now, but nous is worth a bit in a one of game, which this is for them. They have enough players to worry us, but again we show them respect *not the occasion* and we win.
  21. Come on mate, that's not the spirit. Firstly with City, we are most likely allowed one slip up against them in the run in - maybe not if they run in a cricket score in one or two games because then it's goal difference. I don't see them like the previous City teams that pipped us by a point. Don't get me wrong an excellent team, but I think they have a draw in them. With Arsenal, they are an excellent team, but I still think they'll drop points somewhere. With us, we have a number of tricky games including the most mediocre United team since 1990. We have a number of top class players due back in the coming days and weeks. Pretty good timing. I see us dropping points at Villa or tomorrow. We win tomorrow though and it's huge.
  22. She's girl next door good looking. Likes the football and seems a nice enough girl. I actually like her for being pissed off we scored. Shows it's not some kind of an act.
  23. Ole evidently tried to bring positivity to that team. This prick thinks he's peak Van Gaal (without any of the likeability). I wager barely a player in that squad likes him.
