I'd give His Lordship a decent run out on wednesday. With his pace against that lot it'll only take a few half decent balls behind their defence and he'll win us the game. I'd also have Josemi on standby too, in case an assasination becomes necessary.

We don't seem to fear any team. We had a 'mare against the chavs, (but by rights should have slaughtered them in the CL), took it too easy against the mancs, arse we'll see later but the're not looking that clever. When we go out on the pitch the solidity of the defence, Crouchy being so, so, important at the team keeping possesion at the front (and Nando so much now), gives the team such a robust look. Confidence is high, and I don't shit myself when the opposition get a corner or a free kick outside the box. Not quite the finished article yet, but getting close. Only thing that really worries me is possible injuries (see MEEEEEEEEEEELLAAAAANN thread)

The only thing worrying me, although it's obvious the blue noses are utter crap, I can see them (well, at least trying), to kick us off the park on wednesday. Who's the ref ? If it's Poll, and there's more than the two goalkeepers left on the pitch at the end, it'll be a fucking miracle.

Oh, and he came close to becoming a local Parish Councillor here a couple of years back. (It was in the nationals). Glad he didn't (as I was on it at the time) and I didn't fancy getting the papparazi at all the bloody meetings. He cleared off to China at the time, another venture that went tits up. Mind you, the city he went to was supposed to have been a pretty grim place.

I know I started this thread but I do feel sorry for him. My girlfriends family knew him and his ex, Cheryl (I think), quite well. He lived a few hundred yards from where I live now and by all accounts he was great with kids and nice to know. However, the media turned up on his doorstep nearly every fucking day, and that's enough to send anyone round the twist. I've not read his book but it seems there's more to it than just the booze. Shame, very talented player.
