  1. Benitez has long since admitted making the guarantee was a mistake. Move. The. Fuck. On. Weirdos.
  2. Even if people did believe it, so what? He has a contract and is entitled. You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think any manager would do any different.
  3. Currently Zidane. But Messi has it in him to be better. So I'm not voting.
  4. Nah, several times this has been suggested. Ridiculous line of thinking but quite typical in some cases.
  5. No chance of an RBS threat of a winding up petition like at Portsmouth?
  6. I clearly remember UEFA stating this would be a future ruling, but don't recall from which season it would take effect.
  7. Rafa's long since admitted it was a mistake saying it in the first place, so why is this still news? Unfortunately there's many dogs with many bones at the moment.
  8. Indeed. And not forgetting "Baby Can I Hold You", I even love the bastardised Boyzone version!
  9. Good shout on Suzanne Vega, I love her. It's funny really, her songs can generally be very sad, at least melancholic, but go and see her live and leave surprised at how much fun you've had. She really plays with the audience and if full of witty anecdotes. A very very funny woman, I think she has a rare kind of genius. Another of her sad ones:
  10. Not sure how black and white you're seeing this but do you really think Venebles and Thompson had the worst possible upbringing, worse than virtually any other child in this country in the previous 30 years? I'd say there were many many kids who had an equally bad, if not worse, uprbinging than those two who didn't even give a passing thought to torturing and killing a 2 year old, never mind actually committing such a heinous act.
  11. To be fair the goalkeeper had it for a few seconds before it was clear whether the ref had given a freekick. The ball was in the back of the net within, literally, 1 second of the referee indicating the indirect freekick. Arsenal weren't given a chance to defend it. The ref even had his back to the ball as the kick was taken, he himself wasn't ready for it.
  12. He didn't have a choice, the ref demanded the ball from him it seemed within a second or two of him awarding the freekick. I'd need to see it again to be sure but I reckon the goal was scored within 3-4 seconds of the offence. Only really Campbell was near enough to do something in that time but no doubt he'd have been booked if he'd tried to block the pass, as would Fabianski if he'd have kept hold of the ball. I genuinely love to laugh at Arsenal and Wenger's an overrated hypocrite, but I equally hate to see inept and unfair officiating - it's a huge part of why the game is so messed up.
  13. Fair enough, teams should try it more often then and the referee should be consistent in allowing it (that old chestnut).
  14. Maybe, and Campbell should have done more (nobody else stood a chance of doing something about it), but if he'd have tried to block the pass no doubt the ref would have blown up for that and booked him. In that scenario, however much within the rules (though I'm still not sure about the ref putting his hand up after the kick had been taken), it was a ridiculously 'unfair' advantage given to Porto. edit: of course the ref would have put his hand up to signal the indirect free kick but I still think the Arsenal players stood little chance.
  15. Nope, the hand went up before the goal was scored, between the pass and the shot. It stayed up as, and after, the 'goal' went in.
  16. I think it was terrible refereeing for Porto's second. Much as I like to laugh at Arsenal (and particularly at Wenger losing it) the ref well and truly shafted them there. Firstly the goalkeeper starts back peddling with the ball to try and get into position, but the ref demands the ball from him to allow the kick to be taken immediately, before Fabianski has even been able to get in position. Then the ref's arm goes up for it to be taken after the Porto player first touches it on to the scorer.
  17. Him being out on Wednesday will only be a good thing if Carragher remains at right back, as he too can be a liability, especially against Arsenal.
  18. What? I don't think that statement is really open to interpretation, but I have to ask, you're not really blaming this poor season on one player are you? Fuck me. Or are you saying the 4 months themselves ruined our season? Either way, in those 4 months all but about two players put in inept displays.
  19. I think some of our most important playrs are mentally weak, which affects the rest of the squad. From the first match of the season, when Carragher stupidly clattered into Skrtel and we lost the game to a wonder goal, our heads went down and we've been feeling sorry for ourselves - with the likes of the beach ball goal only adding to those doubts.
  20. Oh I don't know about this one. I might be wrong but in the early days of G&H, when most people were giving them (misplaced) credit and a chance, I don't recall Hermes calling them out and suggesting they were the Twats that we'd all eventually see them as. No, I think his support of the Yanks has been pretty consistent all along.
  21. If Purslow is deemed worthy of trust based on him being a genuine supporter then he will understand why, and make allowances for, SOS doing what they have done. If he doesn't understand that then he is not worthy of that level of trust and SOS will have been fully, fully vindicated in their actions.
