  1. 1. Interpol - Antics 2. Kings of Leon - Aka Shake Heartbreak 3. Libertines - Libertines
  2. I might be wrong, but wasn't that the last time he played an official match before being offloaded to.... Portugal or somewhere. Not sure though. Well funny anyway...
  3. How come I can't start a new thread? Anyway - think it's been mentioned on here before, but has anyone got Razorlight's new album? Absolute class. And Stellastarr*, got the pair of them today. Superb stuff.
  4. Kings of convenience remind me slightly of the londoners Bent, can't remember what the album is called, one of the best tunes was called "Swollen" anyway.
  5. Sigur Ros are the Iclandic Aqualung... Tranquil tunes, nearly silent..!
  6. Think he went over to Linfield from Port Vale or Bury last year... Regress?
  7. Raven has been away with England U19s: http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/news/news102.htm
  8. Got to disagree with you mate - Kewell can come out as many times as he wants 'confessing' that he hasn't played particularly well but when he makes Houdini-like disappearances match after match it simply ain't good enough. Take saturday, it looked like he deliberately narrowed the gap and hid in the shaddows of the opposition so he wouldn't receive the ball! Kewell is meant to be a top class attacker who can make things happen, what's the point in him if all his team mates needs to be playing well before he can actually perform himself? Regardless of goals (seven in 33 league matches), he's been crap for the best part of a season!
  9. I don't mind Diao compared to a couple of our lazy half-hearted moneymaker, he's all effort and 100% when he plays, but unfortunately he doesn't possess the necessary ability for this level of football.... Found this on kingsofspin.tv this morning - don't see exactly what they/he is hoping to achieve. Suppose it's just another player who has been encouraged to come out in public and "praise" the manager... "Dear Liverpool supporters, Further to growing speculation in the national media that I will be leaving LFC this summer, I would like to reiterate that I am fully committed to the club. I still have three years left on my current contract, I am very happy to play for the team and I want to repay the faith Gerard Houllier showed in bringing me to England. Liverpool is the team that not only do I play for, but one I have also grown to support, and I have no intention of letting this wonderful opportunity pass me by. I know I am part of a great institution and feel that I still have plenty of time to make a big impression on the team and the fans. Unfortunately, injuries have dictated that my opportunities have been limited and the supporters haven't seen my true worth yet. I can understand that some fans might be frustrated because they are yet to see the Salif Diao that played at the World Cup for Senegal, but I can assure them all that I now feel fitter and stronger than ever and hope to take my performances to another level, given the opportunity. Under the leadership of Mr Houllier, I believe I have the ideal coach to get the best out of me. His coaching knowledge and ability is widely respected, particularly among the European and African players, and I'm confident that he can help me become a better player over the course of the coming months and years. More immediately, my aim is to break into the team and help the club gain a place back where it belongs: in the Champions League. If we can achieve that this season, then things will look so much better for the season ahead. We have the players here, in my opinion, to be winning trophies every season, and I aim to be a part of that success."
  10. Granada used the terrorism threat as their headline on the 6pm news where a statement from the police (or was it the club?) said they wouldn't confirm or or dismiss that they had received any warning. Suppose that means they HAVE an actual threat.
  11. From kingsofspin.tv: Gerard Houllier has ordered his players to enjoy the remaining four games of the season and to ignore the pressures accompanying them in the race for fourth place. Liverpool know they will probably need to win all of their games between now and the end of the season to secure a place in next season's Champions League, but Houllier says his players should relish the challenge which lies ahead of them. He said: "I don't know if we'll need to win all of our games. Maybe not. There are matches this weekend where teams are going to take points off each other. "I just want the players to go out and enjoy themselves over the last four games. I want them to have fun. I'm a great believer that if you don't enjoy what you're doing then you won't be able to perform. "I will tell the players to leave the pressures in the dressing room before matches and to go out and have some fun. That's what football is all about. "We haven't had the results we would have liked of late but I think the only thing we have been missing is goals. We are the team with practically most shots on goals this season. We just need to be more clinical. "We will do everything we can to stay fourth. To read some of the papers you would think we have slipped to sixth or seventh. But we are still there and we will fight to the death to stay there."

I was seeing a bird who lived there last year (next to the Marble Beer House) so spent quite some time in the area, most of the time arguing with tossers in the Royal Oak... If I had to live in Mancland I'd defo settle for Chorlton though.
  13. From guardian.co.uk: Ron Atkinson, the ITV football pundit, yesterday resigned after racist comments about the Chelsea player Marcel Desailly were broadcast around the world. The remarks, made when viewers in Britain were watching post-match analysis of the Monaco v Chelsea Champions League semi-final first leg match, were broadcast in several places in the Middle East, including Dubai and Egypt. Referring to the underwhelming performance of the French defender, Atkinson said: "He's what is known in some schools as a fucking lazy thick nigger." Atkinson's conversation was picked up by microphones that should have been switched off once the broadcast from the stadium had concluded. Atkinson, 65, had made a successful career as a media commentator, having been manager of a number of clubs, most famously Manchester United, West Bromwich Albion and Atletico Madrid. While at Old Trafford he won two FA Cups. An ITV spokesman said: "We don't in any way condone the comments in question, which were not broadcast as part of ITV's coverage but were made in an off-air conversation after the game. It was a regrettable lapse by a respected and experienced broadcaster. "He immediately offered his resignation which we have accepted." Atkinson also has a weekly column and tactical chalkboard in the Guardian. A spokesman for the Guardian said last night: "We take this matter extremely seriously and will be talking to Ron Atkinson at the earliest opportunity." Atkinson said last night: "I made a stupid mistake which I regret. It left me no option but to resign. At the moment I can't believe I did it. "If you look at my track record as a manager, I was one of the first managers in the game to give black players a chance."
