BC is seeing a downward trend, and where I am in Manitoba we only have 4 deaths and 230 positive cases (but not at lot of testing). About 1.4million people in Manitoba. Nunavut has been sealed off and 0 cases, Yukon and NWT have only a handful. Overall it’s been as best to be expected, think the death toll is around 750 now. The federal government stepped up massively and most provincial governments are doing a good job. In Canada now the new sex symbols are the chief nursing officers.

Haha, been watching the beer consumption. I get a local microbrewery to deliver 16 cans every two-three weeks but yesterday had to go the local store (you can only buy beer in hotels or government run liquor stores here) and they are having supply issues. No European lagers except 1664 and a few cans of Lech and DAB. Most domestic brands as well were depleted. The local craft breweries are keeping up though. Troubling times indeed.

Regarding mandolin the kitchen utensil I hate them, even though they have the safeguard knob I always feel like I’m going to slice off a digit. I will never own one. And non- conformity of potato slice by using a knife makes for a better scalloped potato dish.

Some good news for @Jennings I made some incredible scalloped potatoes for Easter dinner, the best I have ever made. I fried six strips of stripey bacon and put a sharp old cheddar cheddar cheese (is there any other kind) into the roux. Heavy cream as well. Take solace that miracles can happen as i have fucked them up before. Also hand cut the spuds, I am anti-mandolin.
