The FA publish written reasons for Suarez's ban
Liverpoolway replied to col06's topic in FF - Football Forum
What I really don't get is that FA refer to "balance of probability", but the greater the implications of a conviction are the greater the burden of evidence is required to make a conviction. FA clearly underestimate the consequences of the verdict, and thus the "balance of probability" is not enough.- 1,233 replies

The FA publish written reasons for Suarez's ban
Liverpoolway replied to col06's topic in FF - Football Forum
So, as a black Liverpool fan, you think it is right that Suarez can be convicted without a shred of evidence. Because "the bigger picture" is that racism is so serious that when someone are accused of racism - whether it is true or not - they should not get any support. There are no proof against Suarez, and therefore Liverpool supporters should support him. Why don't you give him the benefit of the doubt?- 1,233 replies

I don't see any similarities to Plessis. Plessis was slow and could only use his left foot. Mumumi has a lot of pace and passes very well with both feet. Mumumi is much smaller than Plessis, and is a playmaker more than a destroyer.
-
Abubakar Mumumi, a 17 year old midfielder from Ghania (he will turn 18 later this week), will join Liverpool for a two week trial in january. He seems to be a decent player, and has captained the Ghana U20 in a couple of practice matches. From the videos I have seen, he seems to have two good feet, decent skill, pace and good mobility. He would certainly improve the Nextgen team, and for that alone it would be an interesting signing.
-
As he says in the interview, he had already accepted trials at Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U. I don't see why City are "in front of the queue" just because he accepted an invitation to train with them as well...
-
He is (as is most players named Ignacio). The interview with Khaloua, for those who are interested: Mountakhab.net - Hicham Khaloua: «Je répondrais favorablement à une convocation du Maroc »
-
Villyan Bijev is definitively one of them... As for the other one I'm not sure (I thought it was Ignacio Mateos, who has already made his first team debut for Real Madrid, but from the footage on LFCTV it didn't look like him). Hicham Khaloua (from FC Cartagena) will probably arrive on trial next week (according to the player himself), but unfortunately he'll also have trials with Chelsea and Manchester United. He needs a visa to enter UK, and that is what's holding up his trial... He says that even though Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in signing him, he would prefer to play in England.
-
...arriving for trials: Yoro Ndao (18 y old), Simon Badji (16 y old) and Oumar Goudiaby (17 y old). They are all from Senegal.

A fucking joke - City's stadium naming rights

It was... Who knows what's the realistic value. Bascombe was citing two american deals where the clubs got £240m over 20 years. -
A fucking joke - City's stadium naming rights

According to Chris Bascombe, two years ago, Liverpool were confident that they could get £12 million a season over 20 years. It will be interesting to see what offers Liverpool can get.... -
Promote the kids, sell Kyrgiakos and Skrtel, and buy Lovren/Sakho/Someoneelse.

What will constitute success this season?
Liverpoolway replied to JohnnyH's topic in FF - Football Forum
I) A top four position, II) A decent cup run, III) Allround improvement, IV) Having a few new young players who gel well into the team (as Suarez did), and V) Getting three or four youngsters into the first team picture (Suso, Sterling, Wisdom), following in the footsteps of Flanagan, Spearing etc. -
Dejan Lovren probably...
-
As I said, I think McCarthy is a better allround player than Adams, and he can play in a more defensive role than Shelvey and Suso. Having said that, I think the current midfield lacks a "destroyer". I'd love for Dalglish/Commoli to find an Essien/Vieira. Hopefully Wisdom will be that player.

I rate Charlie Adam, but I wouldn't want him at Liverpool. He'll block the way up for players such as Suso and Shelvey. I'd rather sign McCarthy, as he's a better allround player and five years younger.

He's not at the same level as Wilshere, but there hasn't been any english teenagers at that level for the past 7-8 years. I thought Shelvey was excellent going forwards against Birmingham, and he proved he has good skill as well as an excellent eye for a pass. He'll become a top class player.

You know that the age remains the same if he plays in other positions? He has improved as a CD, but that was never his best position in the U18 team. He has so much pace, power and skill and even though he hasn't played in midfield for a while I still think that's his best position.

I rate Wisdom very highly, but I don't think CD is his best position. For me he seems much better in midfield (he's a very good right back as well).

He's a central midfielder from Denmark. Born in 1993 so still only 17 or 18. For me Ince is one of the worst players on the pitch, and I really don't rate him at all. Sterling is ten times the player Ince is.

Do you want to earn success or to be given success? It seems to me that you think Liverpool should let Arsenal win... -

Liverpoolway replied to Anubis's topic in FF - Football Forum
I like Holloway, and I see no reason to dislike him just because he's talking up the value of their bigges asset. I love english football because of teams such as Bolton, Stoke, Blackpool et al punching above their weight class. What I truly hate are Chelsea and City, and everyone associated with them. -
If the likes of Sanchez and Hazard are out of reach, I'd like to see a gamble on Elia. N'Zogbia would be interesting as well, given his ability to play in at least three positions. Having said that, I expect Sterling to get into the first team squad on a regular basis over the next year or so. He's one of those talents that you just can't hold back. I don't want Defour. He'll just stand in the way of Suso (and Shelvey?). I'd much rather see a player such as Witsel, Sissoko, M'Vila - who are all very different to the young players currently at the club.
-
Personally I think the way to go is to get rid of 10-11 players (including some who are out on loan), buy 4-5 (including 1-2 youngsters) and give the youth players (Wisdom, Suso, Flanagan, Ayala, Gulacsi etc) a decent chance.

I'll probably jinx it, but Skrtel has started to look a decent player after Kenny's arrival.
-
Personally I'd like to see Gulacsi given a chance for a few games (Sparta Praha x 2 ++) before signing another keeper (whether it's a reserve or a replacement for Reina). He's always looked an amazing talent, and I'm positive that he'll prove himself to be PL quality.
