  1. The players will decide. They'll either sign new deals or leave on Bosmans. The club won't be able to force them to go anywhere if they don't want to. So the question isn't sell or keep, it's new contract or leave on a free.
  2. Nah, he's done that before and been amazing. His problems recently haven't been with wingers running at him, it's been shit strikers like Scamacca and DCL making him look like a donkey. His passing has also gone to shit recently too. We can probably trace it back to when he got injured and then went away with France. I can't remember him playing well since then. Might be wrong, he may have had one or two good games, I can't remember.
  3. This is exactly where I'm at. I can explain / defend most of the misses, but that one is really staying with me as it's genuinely inexcusable, bordering on unforgivable even. I just can't process how you go from having the composure to look up to see where the keeper is, seeing a massive space to put the ball, and then somehow just deciding 'nah fuck that' and twatting it as hard as possible straight at him. It would have been bad enough if he hadn't had a look, but the fact he did and then still just blammed it makes it by far the worst miss I've seen from him, and that includes Luton and when he dribbled round the keeper and hit the post from a few yards. This was way, way worse because it wasn't just one of those things, it was just negligent. I wonder just what the fuck they've been doing with him in training, and whether anyone has ever even bothered sitting down and discussing his finishing with him. I'd like to think they have, but there's absolutely no evidence of it and Klopp has never alluded to it. He has always just tried to play it down, which publicly is right but privately you'd assume there'd have been some sort of dialogue/help to sort it out. Maybe they didn't want to get him thinking too much and were hoping it would just fix itself? I've no idea, but as I said on the pod that was a coward's finish. The thing that really annoys me is that finishing isn't that hard. Getting into the positions to get chances is a million times more difficult than the actual act of putting those chances away. Look at Jota's goal at Palace. Not a great strike, bit scuffed even, but he saw where the space was and he put the ball there. It's really not difficult.
  4. Oh I'm right up for that, just don't think there's any chance of it unfortunately.
  5. Great post mate, just to clarify on this bit though. I agree with what you're saying, the club absolutely has to treat him like a commodity. My point was that I don't like it when fans are ringing up national radio stations and saying "sell him and get the money to invest in a replacement" like he's a second hand car. It just seems distasteful and he deserves better than to be treated like a commodity by fans. If a good offer came in and the club accepted it, I wouldn't be kicking off about it but equally I'm not going to be calling for us to "get rid". It's not my decision thankfully, so what will be will be.
  6. I agree he doesn't look great. Doesn't sound great either as his breath seems to get raspier with every press conference. Hopefully there's nothing to any of that and a break will sort him out. As for Talksport, I only listen in the car and even then it's just occasionally, and never when things aren't going good for us.
  7. Eh? I said it was going to be like a funeral because it will be flat and sad and everyone will be crying their eyes out. If the funerals you've been too aren't like that then fair play!
  8. Said this before and I'll say it again. I don't like him. I think he's full of his own self importance and that he owes his lofty reputation to the brilliance of Klopp because nobody was talking about how good Edwards was until Klopp came in and made us great. Happy to see him prove me wrong though and show that he can be successful without Klopp.
  9. 1. It's comparable in the sense neither of them placed it into the corner. Nunez's one is ten times worse. 2. Yes, all of that, plus he turns his back as DCL soars above him to head in. It's semantics, we're making the same point, just worded differently. I'm as unhappy now as I was when I watching it. Not going away any time soon this one.
  10. No I don't watch them all the time, seen the last couple of games though. Generally I'll watch if there's lads playing that I want to watch.
  11. Even if that is the case then what the fuck does that say about the "mentality monsters" that they've allowed that to happen?
  12. The thing I like about going for someone who plays very similar football to Klopp is that we'll know fairly quickly if he's shit or not. Someone coming in and wanting to change loads immediately has the safety net of "he needs time to implement his methods" whereas this fella, if he's any good, should really be able to hit the ground running relatively quickly as the players are familiar with what he wants to do and it's just minor tweaks.
  13. Just put that through google's "JohnnyH bullshit translator" and it came out as "I'm genuinely excited about Arne Slot. I know nothing about him but I know he's not Xabi Alonso and that's what I like"
  14. He's actually been fairly consistent on this as he's maybe the only soft cunt out there who said he wanted VAR and still wants it. In short, he's a fucking idiot.
  15. Haven't read anything about his personality or man management, but I did read that his tactics are very similar to ours too (high press, similar formation, even plays an inverted right back), which makes him a more comfortable choice for me than Amorim would have been. We need the least amount of disruption as possible, just need someone to come in and get the best out of the players we have by making little tweaks here and there and freshening things up with a different voice. Ha! I used that exact expression, word for word, in the diary entry for yesterday. Mentioning this now so it doesn't look like I nicked it from you when I publish it!
  16. Coote and Atwell on VAR might be an even worse shout than taking Oliver and Taylor. All they do is sit back and look for ways to say the on field ref got it right. Pair of fucking stooges. That being said, who would you send? They're all fucking useless.
  17. Yeah but this is good old blighty, we don't go in for none of those shenanigans here. That's only a problem for bloody foreigners.
  18. Not gonna lie, I always thought it was welch, not welsh.
  19. That's a great post. I wish I could feel like that. I'm still annoyed as fuck by the last few weeks though!
  20. Yeah the statement I saw this morning is exactly what they should have done after the game, not that childish, awfully worded tweet. Did themselves no favours in how they delivered the message, which undermined the actual message and made them look like the knobheads, instead of PGMOL.
  21. Nah it's straight at him. I'd expect any top flight keeper to save that. Lovely strike though. Van Dijk celebrating before Gravenberch had even set himself to shoot was quite the thing though.
