  1. My entire take and view on the whole sorry episode can be summed up by saying 'Local club for local people'. Both pride themselves on being parochial, backs to the wall, self contained, underdog fucking Neanderthals. Never were two bunches of fucking idiots more created to meet up, fuck about doing tribal, moronic nonsense and then reap what they sow. Nasty, small minded. violent, proud of being bigoted, pointless cunts.
  2. George Groves announces his retirement from Boxing. Absolutely the right decision. He's had a good career, made the best of his talents and if he stays retired, has done it at the right time. He was in some good fights, he outboxed De Gale and won despite being the underdog. Fought really well in the first Froch fight, but had the misfortune to come up against a proper stand up brawler. He was well beaten by Callum Smith and now is the right time to bow out. He goes out with a World title belt on his resume and hopefully a few quid in his pocket.
  3. Are we going to have a separate thread for the Cheltenham festival, or use this one as an all purpose thread? I'd prefer to keep this one for general and for any info and tips on a day to day basis and have a specific Cheltenham thread for info and views in the run up to March. I thought Elegant Escape ran well and stayed on yesterday to finish behind Frodon and would be a value EW bet for the Gold Cup.
  4. Looks like Ralphy Arsenscuttler could be lured in from Southampton quicker than expected.
  5. And also read his Led Zeppelin book too, called When Giants walked the Earth, that's a cracking read too. He's written several music biographies including Prince, Lemmy and others. All are well written, whether you like the artist(s) in question or not.
  6. It's called Symptom of the Universe, I've read it as well mate and I can highly recommend it, a really good read.
  7. Aye, fighting as hard as Scott Welch vs Henry Akinwande. "I've got gloves on, see you in the summer when it's all over you cunt" "Oh, have I lost?" "120-108 on all three scorecards? Yeah, but I was here though"
  8. I got the Manny vs Broner fight as wrong as I got the Hopkins vs Tarver fight years ago. At that time I thought Bernie was well on the slide and that Tarver had the style and the punch to cause him real problems. Hopkins didn't lose a round. I thought Manny was on the slide enough for an operator like Broner to have the range and the style to cause the problems that Tarver didn't. Manny won it clearly. In coming weeks, look closely at my predictions and put your shirt on the other fella. Of course I should've factored in that Broner is a real cunt who talks and walks way flashier than he actually is. And when it comes to actual guts, he's more of a shithouse than Tarver. I also failed to factor in that Manny is a great, just like Hopkins.
  9. It was on the 12" vinyl extended remix version, with extra tracks and tacky badge.
  10. At this point in time, I'd definitely walk a ridiculous distance, possibly lengthy desert terrain, taking in a hazardous test of skill, where failure could result in, at the very least a bad case of blood poisoning, if not death, just for the merest sniff of either a player who could adequately fill one of a number of defensive positions or some cunt who could put the ball in the net if one of the front three got injured.
  11. Ah yeah 1975, that heady year of prosperity when Liverpool was awash with money and investment in its infrastructure and every fan had money enough to take an early dart from their well paid job for that short journey down to East London. On a week day afternoon.
  12. I see that next week they are away to their next manager. They will be after a replacement for Silva and if Ralphy Arsenscuttle carries on impressing at Southampton, keeps them up and stays as flavour of the month, then the Toffees will treble his wages and promise him he will be competing with the best in a new 65,000 seat stadium on the banks of the royal Blue Mersey.
  13. Get the Palace match thread started Stig lad.
  14. He can gruntle his dis where he is. Fuck him. We got ludicrous money for him and to bring him back would still be 80m+. And he's no Ian Rush.
  15. Is he still engaged to that Amy Lewis thing off Facebook?
  16. It's not an unreasonable hypothesis Pidge. We've obviously had plenty of dialogue with their manager and moneymen very recently and within the last 2 years. If we were interested I'm the subject will have been spoken about "while we're on the blower, your lad Wilson, what's happening?" type of a thing. As I said, I'd be happy to get him, he's very mobile, strong and can finish and wouldn't be a superstar demanding to start every game. It's a real step up for him to come to us, so he would be striving to prove and improve himself. I doubt it will happen mind.
  17. I'd be happy with that. Although injuries are the usual caveat. I liked him 3-4 years ago and thought he could play for a top club and if he came to us I'd be happy as he's just what we need. I don't think we've ever been linked with him though have we?
  18. @Bjornebye get the Arsenal at home thread started, you infinitely successful cunt.
  19. Six points clear at the top of the table! Eh Guardiola, go and polish your fucking head with that!
