  1. Some good news! The Egypt Football Association have confirmed that Mohamed Salah will not be called up to the squad for their March internationals. The African nation are set to take on both Nigeria and the Niger Republic in two African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier matches. Now, vice-president of the country’s football body Ahmed Shobier revealed that Liverpool’s star man will not be invited to play in the games taking place on March 22 and 26.
  2. I suppose those twats at sky and the rest of the media will be full of city go top stories and be tossing themselves off over it. All of course with zero mention of fact they are only top down to unprecedented (and in my view fucking really iffy) fixture scheduling and having played a game more because of that scheduling. Still Sky have got their drama to sell for the game at old toilet now.
  3. Exactly 7 days ago we kicked off a game that if we won we went 7 pts clear. Here we are now 7 days later in 2nd place. I'd wager that has never happened to a team before in the space of 7 days...OK it is largely down to bent fixture scheduling but still, even that is just typical of the comical luck that seems to follow us around.
  4. Getting wins when being shite is what champions do. Especially in crucial/pivotal games.
  5. Yeah fucking sickening that here we are looking at possibly our best ever points haul (and this is us we are talking about 18 times champions) and because these cheating bastards have changed the norm it may not be enough. If this is the future where you have to win nearly every week, where record points hauls possibly mean nothing because financially doped twats can just move the bar to a level never seen befoee then yeah they can keep it.
  6. Sure they will be happy to clap along as the mancs sing 'sign on' 'in your liverpool slums' etc and then cheer and applaud the manc bastards team.
  7. Everton are shite but sit above two teams who we have failed to beat in our last two games and who have been described as good sides in the aftermath of those two results on here.
  8. Wijnaldum is unlikely to play....no timescale on when he is back either. A little worrying he has a 'sore knee' but now likely to miss 2nd game with it ...knowing our luck next step will be 'we waited but Gini needs an op now' and he's out until April.
  9. Not too many Scouse accents on here on the video. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jamie-carragher-not-expecting-favour-15786178 Although to be fair if the roles were reversed i'd swerve him too.
  10. So Newport for the oil cheats then. Best result - Middlesbrough would have rested players and been walked over. Newport will hopefully kick them to fuck and the pitch will be like a paddy field. Lovely
  11. We've got some serious squad surgery to do in summer. We have no credible cover at LB. We need cover (proper cover) at RB Probably need to upgrade at least 1 of our centre half options behind first 2. We need better forward cover. Still a hole for that creative midfielder? Players who surely will go: Mignolet Moreno Lallana Sturridge Origi Milner - maybe off. OK some of this will be replaced by youth - but that is still a lot of work to do. You only have to look at how stretched we are right now to know we need a lot and that is before all that deadwood goes. Feels like this is another pivotal summer following a tilt at the title - fail to do what is needed and we potentially fall back again. It feels weird that a squad challenging for the title will need such change.
  12. Here we go again - the minor knocks that kept them out last night are now likely to keep them out weekend. Jurgen Klopp admits Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson could miss the clash with Bournemouth this weekend. The midfielders were ruled out of last night’s frustrating draw with West Ham through injury. “Gini and Hendo, both would’ve played and then they cannot play,” Klopp said yesterday. “That’s not too cool, I don’t know how long it will take,” the boss told Liverpoolfc.com. “That’s the situation, that was always clear. It’s a long season and you have to deal with the situation.
  13. Allardyce giving it them both barrels again. He is fucking right though. Echo trying to ridicule him but he is dead on in what he says: “Everybody walks around talking about Sam Allardyce’s style is not good enough, he doesn’t play the right way and so on and so forth and it is a massive problem for me. People believe it. “You believe the false lies, the false implications. Football does that – it believes that lie sometimes. “It is built up by fellow managers, journos who follow on with it and you are never going to get rid of it. The type of football I played at Everton, the fans said it wasn’t good enough and I would say the same – I knew it wasn’t good enough for Everton – but I knew I had to get them in the position where they were safe. “Then let me build the team, let me spend the next £80m, £100 million on the players that will make Everton much much more fluid, much more creative and go forward and score more goals and hopefully finish better than eighth. “They talk about my style of football, well Ronald went and they said he played the right style of football. Roberto went, everybody said he played the right style of football, and I went because I didn’t play the right style of football. “It is about trying to entertain and win, that is the ultimate, but you have to keep winning first to change the things that need to change. “If I got sacked because my results weren’t good enough at Everton, I accept it but getting sacked when they finish eighth, it is ridiculous. In fact it is ludicrous.”
  14. Noble actually spoke well about us...but he picked up on the nerves thing/talked about how watching us v Leicester he could sense it too - from crowd too. That is sadly the narrative around us now and we are feeding it - we need a good result and performance to change it as it will continue to be the narrative as the race intensifies - and lets face it is true.
  15. Went to bed after Leicester game pissed off but woke up feeling not so bad and put it down to one of those results that every title chasing or even winning team have. Went to bed after this one deeply pissed off and concerned about our bottle, our squad/injuries and our ability to cope with what lies ahead - woke up even more pissed off, especially with the total gimme city have on Weds. In space of 7 days we have gone from having chance to go 7 pts clear to almost certainly being 2nd.....and we look shot as a team/devoid of confidence and ideas.
  16. Klopp has had 3 years now to improve our forward options and still after all that time the clearly never going to be good enough Origi and the totally broken down and finished Sturridge are sitting on our bench as our only back up. Klopp has done a lot of good in his time with us, a hell of a lot but this clusterfuck with the forwards is a joke. I know it is hard when playing a front 3 to attract top quality back up and expect it to sit on bench week in week out behind 3 players but by now we should have better options than Origi and Sturridge - especially given the demands of fighting in 4 comps which is what we should be doing.
  17. Trip to dubai looks like has brought an illness to camp. Klopp: It’s very important. We had a difficult situation. It’s a long season. In general, we lost one game in the whole season, so the team are doing well. We have a tough situation in the moment. I don’t know where the injuries or illnesses are coming from. Millie was ill and maybe is still ill, I’m not sure; Virg had three or four days where he was out and lost four kilos. Obviously that doesn’t help. I don’t moan about that, it is just a fact. It is not an excuse or nothing. I said we could have played better tonight, 100 per cent, but it’s the situation and it’s not perfect. We lost two players and Millie came back because he didn’t train yesterday. He came by himself to London because it was infectious. That is all not perfect, of course. For me, it explains parts of the game, but we don’t look for these things. As I said, the preparation for the game was far away from being perfect and we still got a point. That’s it.
  18. He was really poor tonight...constantly looking to play casual flicks and them not coming off. One of his attempted flicks started the situation that led to the free kick they scored from. He was shocking tonight.
  19. There was a moment near end tonight where ball fell to him about 20 yards or so out - for a split second it looked like a chance to smash one on goal....he ended up not only not hitting it but actually losing it and giving a foul away whilst doing so. Sums him up. Bitterly disappointing.
