  1. He's actually smaller believe it or not.
  2. Spearing is taller than him for god's sake, his little legs will be exhausted after 30 minutes of running. It's unfair if anything.
  3. Your right, either way Juninho is one of the best brazilian players the prem has ever seen, you can't compare bernard and him just because he's small and brazilian.
  4. In normal circumstances i'd agree, but i don't think he has the talent of a Coutinho or Mata. He's also very young, whereas Juninho was in his late 20's when he signed for Middlesborough. I think he'll be a failure and at 17 million it would be a massive gamble.
  5. Bernard would be a disastrous signing, 5 foot 5, no physical strength whatsoever, he'd get eaten alive in the prem. He plays in a very slow league as well, i really hope we don't get him. There are much better players on the continent that would cost 17 million or thereabouts.
  6. Code i don't know how you can criticise the handling of the ivano-bite incident, it was handled excellently throughout. Suarez took the blame, was fined, the club admitted wrong doing and papered over the cracks in a matter of days. The way Rodgers didn't discuss the incident at full time allowed him to be briefed behind the scenes, so he could give a concise statement later, thus appeasing the press without levelling excessive blame at the clubs door.
  7. I'd seriously consider 35 million plus Walcott, that would throw a cat amongst the pigeons.
  8. FSG are too afraid of another Carroll scenario.
  9. Fury wanted 80 / 20 in his favour for the purse...he's off his head.
  10. Probably just his gypsy heritage that makes me think he'll be able to take a shot, it'll be tested to the full limit of it's capability against Haye, if theres anything Haye can do, it's punch.
  11. Diouf for me, Anelka played great for us at the back end of that season and was literally desperate to sign. Houiller stupidly went out and bought Diouf, not only a shit player, but a complete disgrace of a human being, shaming the club on and off the field. The comments made in the aftermath of leaving just add fuel to the fire. So it's the loss of a prime Anelka, terrible performances, disrespect to the fans and the club and also the arrival of Salif Diou (to help him settle), thats why he tops this list. Aqualani is a close second just for being an absolute shithouse with bones made of straw.
  12. I'd say he was world class when we signed him, he was just in a league that people look down upon for some bizarre reason, even though some of the best footballers the world has ever seen have came from the dutch league. Case in point, Bergkamp, Ibrahimovic, Van Der Sar, Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy, Robben, Romario, Stam, Cruijff, Davids, Laundrup, Litmanen, Molby.
  13. The clubs policy on wages is absolutely spot on, you arrive on low wages that are incentivised based on your performances, then if you hit performance targets you get a pay rise, if you don't your wages stay the same. Absolutely spot on and it encourages players to play better and hit performance targets because they make more money in doing so. It only allows the top performing players to receive the top wages, so it's directly proportional to your worth to the club.
  14. Yilmaz is a top player, he's fast, intelligent, technically skilled, great finisher....i'm surprised Arsenal weren't in for him last year, instead of Giroud. He'd score goals for us, thats for certain.
  15. There is simply not thousands of players that will reach Suarez's heights in the game, there isn't even hundreds. People rightfully have a problem with the fact that every time we end up with a world class player, they get sold to the top european clubs. Mascherano, Alonso, Torres, Suarez? it gets tiresome and the same will be true when Real / Barca swoop for Coutinho in a few seasons time. It's annoying that we usually get 2 years out of these players before they want out. The immediate goal is top 4 to try and stem the tide of being a euro elite feeder club, but ultimately it's about winning the league. Your never going to win titles with your Allen's and Henderson's, but you will win it with Suarez and players like him.
  16. Kevin Mirallas came from the greek league and he's proven to be quite a decent player.
  17. Yeah it's bizarre, it seems Benteke is hankering for a move to Spurs though, which is the sensible destination for him. Chelsea just like stock piling talent.
  18. Fury is better than people are giving him credit for, Fury is not Price, he's better technically, got good power and my suspicion is he's got a decent chin, contrary to what others believe. Haye vs Fury will be closer than people are making out, Haye will win, but it won't be a blowout.
  19. Then again 20 million could maybe get us Jackson Martinez or Yilmaz so there may be better value on the continent.
  20. I think he'll go on to be a great player if he joins a club were he'll play week in week out, but he'll ruin his career if he joins Chelsea, because the moment he isn't scoring 20+ per season, they'll set their sights on the next big thing. He'd be great for us or Spurs mind, he's worth about 15 million currently, if were planning on selling Suarez, i'd definitely bid 20 million for him without a shadow of a doubt. He tore us to shreds single handedly at Anfield.
  21. I can't imagine Suarez lining up against us, megging the fuck out of our defence and just generally taking the piss. It's a disturbing image, especially knowing he'd get dogs abuse for joining another team in the english league and you just know the vitriol and hatred would make him own us even harder.
