  1. Torres is a good comparison. I was upset when he left but the timing was impeccable in hindsight. There's a bit of guesswork involved but my money is on us having already seen the best of Sturridge for Liverpool. Will he have another season like 2013/14 any time soon? Not likely, I'd say. Even during that season he picked up knocks and missed crucial games, with no European football and early cup exits. It sounds like I've got it in for him but I just think the high wages could be better spent elsewhere (not you, Raheem).
  2. History shows we sold Owen at the right time even if it was forced upon us. Sturridge is near the age Owen was when he left, but with a much worse injury record and nowhere near the pedigree.
  3. The rat guy I spoke to said he got way more call-outs for Indian than he did for Chinese takeaways. Remember that when you're tucking into your vindaloo.
  4. Sounds like a typical night doon the Bigg Market.
  5. Korma/pasanda yes. Coriander no. Coriander makes my minge smell.
  6. Chinese all the way. I only like the milder Indian food and coriander can fuck right off.
  7. I agree that other clubs would be interested if Rodgers became available.
  8. Continuity is better than chopping and changing. We've changed managers four times this decade. Are we any better off? Not really.
  9. I think that would undermine him (like the committee has, in my opinion). Don't really want to make it into that type of thread, though. I should have left that bit out.
  10. By my diagnosis the whole of his left leg looks completely fucked. Dr TK.
  11. I'm not sure Lallana can handle the physical demands of 50 games per season at a top club. He seems a bit too easily roughed up and injury prone. Doesn't seem to fancy it.
  12. Same as RobbieOR, I'd keep him come what may. I think he's a very talented manager who can bring us tangible success. He has exceeded my expectations. I'd get rid of the committee and give him full control of transfers.
  13. Can't be relied upon and should be sold.
  14. Do you mean Patrick Berger or Rob off here?
  15. Man City and Chelsea have two of the top spots sewn up every season. The rest of us fight it out. A lot of the top players are at a handful of clubs so there is this concentration of talent at the mega rich European clubs whilst the rest find it difficult to hang on to their players who are poached by said rich clubs, who loan half of them out to teams not considered rivals. The game is a lot quicker, blah blah blah. There has been enough change and we're not in the mix any more when the big cups are handed out, last season's freak challenge being the exception that proves the rule.
  16. I don't think we will qualify. Sunday was a disaster. But I'm not that arsed. If last season proved anything it showed me that we don't have to be in the Champions League to be successful. Obviously I would prefer it if we were in it but I think the whole top 4 thing, if I become preoccupied with it, makes me as a fan lose sight of what football is about.
  17. Could be the inspiration for another plane crash setting Call of Duty map. They could call it "Debris".
