  2. Whenever you have a team on Sky for the big matches you have them getting the big ex legends in as pundits. Whenever Citeh play all they seem to be able to scrape together are either Richard Dunne or Noel Gallagher.
  3. Saintsweb, some of their fans seem to know a lot about what happens at the club.I think he’s also on BBC Radio Solent so maybe he said something on there. Another one from Kevin Palmer. He claims that Liverpool had the biggest offer on the table for VVD in the time period leading up to Christmas Day... https://amp.independent.ie/sport/soccer/premier-league/comment-what-happens-next-in-the-scramble-to-sign-virgil-van-dijk-36437385.html?__twitter_impression=true
  4. Adam Blackmoore (James Pearce version of Southampton) is saying we are favorites and not Man City to sign VVD.
  5. According to the telegraph who also say he would be a 60m third choice behind Stones and Otamendi. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/12/25/man-city-closing-60m-deal-virgil-van-dijk/
  6. Naby Keita 'wants Liverpool move now' and could secure January transfer NABY KEITA is fed up at RB Leipzig and wants to move to Liverpool when the transfer window reopens, according to a leading German football expert. Keita, 22, agreed a move to Liverpool over the summer but has to wait until July 2018 to make it. But Lee Price, who has written two books on the Bundesliga, claims Keita is desperate to change the terms of the deal. That follows Leipzig being dumped out the Champions League while a title tilt hasn't got off the ground. "The Naby Keita transfer saga had appeared to resolve itself – the midfielder was due to move to Liverpool in the summer, and that’s that," Price exclusively told Express Sport. But the Guinean himself might have a say in the matter. "Leipzig’s novelty is wearing off – they’re fifth in the Bundesliga this season, and have been demoted to the Europa League, where they face a tough tie against Napoli. "For Keita, the challenge has almost gone, and he ideally wants to move to Liverpool now. "The player doesn’t intend to rock the boat hugely in Leipzig, and is relishing the winter break in Germany, but his camp is expected to push for a move upon his return to training in January." Keita was Jurgen Klopp's No 1 target throughout the close season but he was left frustrated as RB Leipzig said he was going nowhere. However, Liverpool were so desperate to get their man they entered talks in a deal which would see the player join a year later. Keita had an exit clause of £48million in his contract but Leipzig were prepared to negotiate to secure an additional premium, taking the fee potentially beyond £50m. Liverpool had earlier bids of £57m and £66m in an effort to force an immediate sale. The huge fee is the highest the club have ever paid.
  7. This Kevin Palmer chappie who reported the VVD structured deal apparently worked for Southampton as their in-house journo for nearly 10 years. Must be some juice in this..?
  8. Where the fuck did I hide that half bottle of whisky last night.
  9. Need Klopp to ply him with LFC themed vodka.
  10. Coutinho included in Barca-themed secret santa; Luis Suarez gifts LFC ace Vodka Imagine if Steven Gerrard and Virgil van Dijk posed for cameras and exchanged Secret Santa gifts… Southampton would be on to the FA faster than they were in June. But it seems Barcelona and their players can do anything they like… Neymar (now of PSG, of course) organised a Secret Santa present swap as part of a programme on his circle of friends for Brazilian channel SBT. It’s all pre-organised and involves camera crews in Barcelona (for his former teammates) and at Coutinho’s house in Liverpool. First, Suarez pulls his name out of the hat… “It’s my little brother, Philippe Coutinho,” he says. “Well Philippe, from Barcelona I send you a gift that I know you’ll like a lot, because you like it a lot and I know you’re going to remember the good times that we have and that we live.” It comes in a Barcelona bag and is a bottle of Vodka that Phil apparently used to like when they were team-mates together. “What the f***?,” he replies. “When Luis was here his wife liked to take it and so did I. I thank you.” Totally shameless! Never mind. Barca can keep trying every trick under the sun. Liverpool aren’t selling in January.
  11. Spanish expert Guillem Balague says there's a belief inside Barcelona that Liverpool will not cave into selling Philippe Coutinho next month. Indeed, Balague claims there's also a feeling inside Coutinho's camp that the Reds will not budge. He told Sky Sports: “Liverpool don't want to sell Coutinho. That's where they stand right now, so Barcelona are not optimistic about the possibility of Coutinho going there. "Obviously they will try and they want to make an offer in January, but even Coutinho's entourage are thinking it probably won't happen, because Liverpool are saying the same as what they said in the summer: 'We are not interested in selling'. "Barcelona want Greizmann, no doubt about it. They are willing to pay the 100m euros that he will cost from the 1st of June. "They have met his family, even his sister, who looks after his financial affairs, which is why Atletico Madrid have gone to FIFA and said that this is not supposed to happen. "Barcelona have got Griezmann as number one target, at the same level of Coutinho, but I don't think they can get both players."
  12. They seem to think he’s gone to us, but prefer to sell to City. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?59004-Should-VVD-be-sold-in-January/page5#.Wj75E86nyhA
  13. Couldn’t bring myself to go through the ArsenalFanTV vids last night after throwing away our lead. Did it tonight and safe to say Claude is still awesome.
  14. Not such a bad match day after all. Only City (who we aren’t catching anyway) and Spurs gained ground on us.
  15. From his Sunderland days.

  17. I saw another shocking stat. Arsenal had four shots on target yesterday and scored three. Against Utd they had 33 shots, 16 on target and yet Utd only conceded one and won the game 3-1. That’s the difference between a Mignolet and a De Gea.
