  1. Yeah if he was just a bit faster, more agile, could finish, was a threat in the air, had a better touch, could pass it, and didn't go down so easily he would be a fucking beast of a striker mate. That said, so would any person in the world if they did the exact same thing.
  2. '...Thinking its my dad she asks 'Are you ok John?' wondering why hes on the floor. The guy stands up and says 'No its ok love, go back to sleep, Im just waiting for John' ahaha, brilliant.
  3. Haha, what I was thinking. That's exactly what the driver would say, isn't it. If he knows where the PS3 is, why not just go back and get it? I've had 3 things stolen from HDNL depots which are the same sort of company as hermes. My advice is never miss the parcel the first attempt at delivery. If you do and it goes back to the warehouse I've been told it goes into a big skip with other undelivered items. The online redelivery service doesn't work. Nobody is keeping tabs. Basically, kiss goodbye to the fucking thing.
  4. That was my first job, in there. Over 10 years ago now. Because I was there during WC2002 and we would watch matches in the breakout room and stay for most of the match instead of going back. The standard of birds must have gone downhill since then I guess because I recall there being a decent supply of tidy gash on show. I only pulled 1 bird as the older more scally types of lad got all the office slags and I was just an awkward looking teenager with a crop and no dress sense. Fortunately since then I have become a right handsome arrogant bastard with a cracking head of hair and great taste in clothes so I would clean up if I owned some sort of time machine. If I did I still wouldn't go back to work there mind, as it was shit. I have actually had nightmares over the years that I was back there. I still see some of the birds knocking about on facebook and the urge to try and plough them and make up for lost time is tremendous but i never do. Too stalky.
  5. Why didn't you quote the rest though, where i explained in detail the facts on why it was in his interests to stay living in Liverpool? It was so the argument could be used by his loyal followers that he only lives a stones throw away and could easily take up the job. You didn't quote that bit because that was the bit where i wrote the facts to back up what i said that's why!
  6. Except it's not his home is it? He's spanish. Come on, it's clear what he was doing. Hanging around waiting for his chances. Why else would he be here. the chance to manage tranmere, everton? He knew the "We have a European Cup winning manager living a stones throw away" brigade would always be there providing he stayed. He knew the cancers were going, he knew Hodgson was hated, he saw Kenny struggling. Kenny will obviously never come out and say it, but i bet privately he was fuming. Imagine if Hodgson or Souness, Houllier, somebody who wasn't Rafa basically, set up camp over the road from Anfield and sat lurking. releasing bits and pieces to the press every now and then about how they had unfinished business. There'd be murder.
  7. Entitled and deserving are not the same thing. We're all paying £50 for a ticket, why should an old multi millionaire get £8m of this club's cash for not even completing the 2 years of work required? we all know full well he's entitled, but he doesn't deserve. £300,000 would be more than enough compensation.
  8. Kenny's not soft, he demanded it. That's why it all dragged on so long. They haven't done everything right, stadium, but I have sympathy for them on that one. They couldn't get rid of him after the 6 month's he'd had, the fans would have gone mad. I didn't believe the rumour that he had walked and i didn't believe the rumour that he had rejected his payoff. That's not really a slant on Kenny, nobody turns down £8m for free and no managers ever walk these days due to this. I still hate these payoffs though. Legend obviously, great guy but does he "deserve" £8m for 2 years of work he isn't required to do? no. Clubs need more protection because it comes out of the club's pockets and transfer funds NOT the owners.
  9. My point is he wasn't that arsed if we won as long as he was in control. He took Gerrard off for Lucas to prove his authority, which lessened our chances of winning the game. We won in the end by a lucky moment in the 92nd minute but we'd have won 3 or 4-1 anyway if Gerrard had just stayed on the pitch. He was destroying them and had already created the equaliser.
  10. Mourinho if in danger of not winning would make daring substitutions or shuffle the team ie playing 2 at the back etc, in order to win the game, Benitez hardly ever attempted that sort of thing. He was rigid with his subs and stuck with his tactical approach to the bitter death even when it was clealy not going to work on the day. I remember a very rare time he did something less standard was when he subbed Gerrard off around 65 minutes at goodison park when it was 1-1, and we got a last minute penalty to win 2-1. You could tell it was simply to prove a point rather than to win, gerrard had already won us the equalising pen, and everyone knew by that stage him and Gerrard couldn't stand eachother. I was at the match and had he stayed on the pitch we'd have still eventually won the game as we were playing vs 10 men for 45 minutes and gradually wearing the bitters down and creating a can load of chances. but he was praised to the heavens for it at the time by his cult and the anti-steven gerrard crew.
  11. I have the same concerns over ABV as everyone else but let's not forget Kenny was this really nice old bloke who was pals with the majority of the players and backed all his players to the hilt, but we still did shite. Could be what this club needs a kick up the arse. Too many players in their comfort zone happy to collect their wages. That is one of my main worries over Martinez, seems far too calm all the time and not that bothered if he loses which is the exact situation we've just been in and were in with Benitez and Roy also. In Benitez' case, I always hated how if the game went tactically perfect it was job done. he preferred to draw while bullying and controlling the game than win and it be an open, even match. No idea if Martinez is like this but wouldn't surprise me. He's spanish and his formative years as a manager paralleled Benitez at his peak.
  12. Is this the most untrue, and irritating thread title ever uploaded onto the world wide web? I think so.
  13. I would, that's the club's money. 8m is nearly 2 years wages for a world class player. Hate all this payoff shite. £6m for Benitez, £8m a piece for Roy and Kenny. It won't be coming out of the owners pocket so it's irrelevant what they're worth. Kenny Dalglish doesn't need £8m, he's on a beach in Barbados right now regardless of a payoff. But we do need it for players.
