Well not within a year obviously, or 2. But that should be an achievable long term objective which would demonstrate his capabilities. There's no way Steven Gerrard should be considered for the job of replacing Jürgen Klopp if the unthinkable happened and he left in 2024. He'd have to prove he has elite manager capabilities over a number of years

I think Jurgen Klopp would get villa in the top 4 with the budget they have, at the very least. Given how inept the 'big' clubs outside of the top three have been, I don't think that at least challenging for the top 4 would be an unreasonable minimum barometer of success and aptitude to demonstrate before Steven Gerrard could even be considered for the job of managing us.

The Villa job was a good one to take. Midtable of team with money to spend and plenty of room for improvement. The goal would be to do what Leicester, Wolves, even West Ham this season have done at a minimum. With sound tactics and good signings should be possible. The managers at those clubs were Rodgers, Nuno Santos and Moyes...

Another thing with the 'lets just get a quick midfielder' in is that there aren't many who are quick but also technically outstanding enough to be able to withstand the man city midfield press, and also the sheer level of tactical knowledge and time you need to play the role in Klopps midfield. Fabinho and Tiago are world class players and Jordan Henderson is a very good one. Hard to improve on that

There's alot of negative talk about our players. Look at it another way, who in the man city team stood out as having a really good game yesterday and outplaying our players? For me it's only KDB, who is a world class player on his game. I accept we could add maybe a Bellingham and improve, but fuck me it's hard to improve this team

I don't think Klopp is showing any signs of being ready to dispense with Firmino at the moment, loves him. Don't think he's on the highest wages either. If someone came in for him then maybe we might consider it, don't think were actively selling him though

For all this talk I still can't imagine Mo not signing and walking out the door. I definitely can't imagine him playing for anyone else. Very depressing
