  1. The population of Israel itself is (was) very politically divided by many things, among them being the 'issue' of what to do about the Palestinians. Part of the reason why they had multiple split elections before netanyahu managed to form the current extreme right wing government. I suspect that the last 2 weeks has almost certain pushed that split further to the right sadly.
  2. The conflict isn't a religious conflict and is a political one, as stated multiple times by the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot. And, lets all repeat together, Hamas do not represent the Palestinian people. Hamas are not in the West Bank. Hamas were also demonstrably, factually funded and supported to exist in Gaza by Netanyahus Israeli Government specifically because he did not want a unified Palestinian Government to negotiate with, and has actively pursued a policy of effectively imprisoning the innocent 2 million human beings in Gaza (half of whom are children) because he wouldn't deal with Hamas, and actively pursuing development of settler communities in the West Bank which further erodes the originally agreed boundaries of the proposed Palestine State, whiile militarily occuping the west bank and subjecting the people there to all sorts of horrors. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. So please show us, anywhere, where any of the rhetoric or behaviour of Israel over the last 20/30 years and even more has shown any sort of inclination towards the 2 state solution and for peace. It's clear now that Netanyahu's stated policy of 'containment' has failed, and they have no desire to negotiate a peaceful solution. And so they are actively pursuing the destruction of the Palestinians, aka Genocide, all under approval of the approving US, UK and wider Western governments, while the international media absorb and feed the dehumanising propoganda what will allow them to do it, while the rest of the world turns a blind eye. But again, please do explain how Israel wants peace?
  3. Oh and 'strontium dog' sat here saying nothing but repping and negging away is a pathetic excuse for a human being.
  4. It's just, clearly, a lie. The fact people have spent days discussing it distracted from all the other atrocities conducted in the meantime, and politically tied the west who'd unequivocally backed Israel into a bind of backing them further. They know no bounds. They are clearly intent on the annihilation and absolute limitation of the Gazans. This is not about Hamas. The instructions to move to the south, where theyve bombed anyway, was clearly with the intent of displacing the already refugeed Gazan and either exiling them for good into Egypt, or forcing them into an even smaller corner. If they're allowed to get away with it, they're taking that northern gazan land and the Palestinians are never getting it back. Furthermore netanyahus whole future depends on this. He's led the principle of not actually negotiating for a 2 state but 'containing' them. It's been proven it doesn't work as long as they live in any substantial number. So he wants to solve that 'problem' Unless the west see sense to actually stop them, they're going to go in and kill anything on sight
  5. I mean no fucking shit that this has been an outrageous lie from Israel that completely dominated bidens visit there, locked him into a bind in not only supporting that but henceforth anything they do, as well as completely allowing them to do whatever now without any real repercussions. But absolute credit and fucking bless channel 4 for pursuing and publishing this.
  6. Totalitarian https://forward.com/fast-forward/565699/dozens-of-arrested-for-posts-defending-gaza/
  7. They've dropped 6000 bombs on a tiny piece of land in about a week. That's more than Afghanistan in a year I read, which is about 10000 times the size. God only knows what they will do when they go on on the ground. These 'civilians' are human beings who have a right to life. Over half are children. Fucking children.
  8. I've been more of an observer with this thread with an occasional post, and it's, apart from a few voices, a bit of a sanctuary of sanity among the absolute madness and whitewashing and lies and indifference and lack of humanity to all of this suffering that's out there in the world and this country right now. But, with all respect, I have to say I've very much had the impression that while you genuinely are attempting neutrality, it isn't quite that. There's an undertone to some posts and 'jihaddiwaddy' is probably quite a good example.
  9. It's like sending the fucking nepotism hired work experience kid to meet the board
  10. I think if anyone has seen any of the actual, real videos and accounts that are being posted from there, it doesn't matter about the numbers. And a neutral stance of 'oh who knows what's true' starts to sound a little inhumane quite frankly. Because literally innocent people are being murdered. If you see a doctor carrying the charred remains of a child they were treating, or a father carrying his children's remains out of a hospital in bin bags, the line of ' oh they're just as bad as each other' starts to ring quite hollow.
  11. I mean they already have hit that exact hospital a few days previously and warned that they would hit hospitals, as well as in shelters, schools, convoys of people heading south in the direction they told them would be safe, and countless other things that you definitely shouldn't bomb. They're acting with total impunity because, as seen today, they can do anything and just explain it away because they've been given 'unconditional' support from the US and its allies.
  12. It's looking more and more like a total media whitewash due to the magnitude of the political investment from western governments leading directly to innocent people being murdered in a hospital by the people they've unconditionally backed Channel 4 have confirmed that the frankly ludicrous 'intercepted' audio of Hamas is very likely fake. If you're faking audio tapes I'd say it's very likely all your other evidence would also be questionable.
  13. Disappointing that he's such a cunt, but they're never going to say anything else as they're complicit and have rolled out the red carpet for Israel to do as they please with full unequivocal backing. It's a whitewash and in my lifetime I don't remember western governments, and largely media, as brazenly lying and misinforming to such a contemptuous extent.
  14. I get that, but in his own words when first asked on LBC, he made no mention of Israel needing to comply with international law, and at no stage has expressed sympathy with the Palestinian people who are being killed. He's meant to be a human rights lawyer. His fear of saying anything because, if you do, you're branded an anti-Semite is absolutely spineless.
  15. Always voted for labour and would vote anyone but the Tories, but I'm no longer voting for that spineless cunt due to his absolute lack of backbone on Israel and lack of any empathy towards the Palestinians. Doesnt seem to stand for anything beyond getting labour elected by not pissing off the conservative voter belt
  16. We would be top but for the travesty last week. We didn't play well and should have dealt with both the goals, but despite that should have won away at a good side who will take points off our rivals. Reading the comments you'd think wed lost and we're bottom of the league
  17. Mad opinion, tsimikas is a very decent full back
  18. Elliott's role should be as a sub/very occasional starter but I think he's been excellent so far this season. Made a huge difference in the result v Newcastle. Very intelligent player who's improving all the time as a midfielder
  19. Gravenberch, similar to Dom And Mac Allister just looks like a proper player, he could be a monster for us as well
  20. Luis Diaz is an infinitely better player than Neto (who I don't think is a bad player by the way). Some criminal underestimation of how good he is by some of our fan base
  21. It's the biggest job he's ever had. It's the biggest result he's ever had. Against a team he's revered his entire life. In a huge stadium he's worked all his life and never thought he'd get a chance to get a 'result' like it in. And he's probably got a bit carried away. It is a bit small time and a bit Moyes at man Utd but I don't begrudge him that. If anything it's just a sign of where they are and who they are v where we are. Let them have the praise, reality will set in pretty soon (refs notwithstanding) I actually think they're in with a good chance of 4th, but a very distant fourth behind 3rd place Arsenal.
