  1. I'm in the same boat here this coming season... We have 2 Season Tickets that we share between the 3 of us (Me, my Brother and My Dad). The Old Man has just turned 65 and got the OAP's fancard so there will be about 6/7 times this season when I'll have to use his over 65's fan card.
  2. No I didn't say that, I said he was potentially going to be left exposed which he is should Suarez end up leaving. Suarez's goals and influence on the team is going to leave a big hole that will need to be filled immediately if we are to make progress on last year. In a lot of ways I actually feel sorry for him as he's not necessarily been dealt the best hands so far but that doesn't mean that anybody can excuse a lack of significant progress for any longer than a realistic period of time (in modern day Premiership and European football) The real questions are about the ambition of the owners, to what extent they are prepared to back the Manager in the next two transfer markets and also what they would do should we fail to improve on last season. I think Werner came out and was quoted as saying that Brendan was doing 'an excellent job' at the end of the last season or something like that, which whilst great for Brendan himself was just a little bit over cooking it for me. The truth is last season was average and forgettable and certainly no better than the one that preceded it. It would be interesting to see whether or not that opinion would change if we again finish upper mid table and miles away from the CL places and no significant cup successes. The jury on Brendan Rogers is still out and this is a massive year for him.
  3. Calm down lad. My point here and the extent of my cynicism is that I'm not giving Suarez the benefit of any doubt whatsoever here which is why I'm a little angered that all of a sudden he thinks he can suggest that he had an agreement with the Manager that gave him a conditional get out this summer. I think it's bullshit mate, and I don't think he should be allowed to get away with the implication that this is now how Liverpool Football Club does it's contract negotiations.
  4. Something may have been lost in translation but to all other intent and purpose Suarez is heavily suggesting now that he had some kind of 'Gentleman's agreement' with Rodgers by this statement. I think Rodgers owes it to himself and the Club to expose him as a fucking liar should this not be true. Gentleman's Agreements may not mean shit in today's World granted, but was there one or not?
  5. Champions League football is going to be very difficult to achieve this coming season and with Suarez leaving Rogers is going to be left very exposed. In modern football where is the line between being patient and giving a manager time and settling for mediocrity? The one thing that is going in Rogers' favour is that that I don't actually think that FSG are very ambitious when it comes to Liverpool Football Club.
  6. On a slightly different note, this does sound like the kind of smarmy BS that sadly I could believe Rogers would say. He added: "I spoke with (Liverpool manager) Brendan Rodgers several times and he told me, 'stay another season, and you have my word if we don't make it then I will personally make sure that you can leave'." For the record I would like BR to come out an categorically deny he made this 'promise' to him
  7. Why the fuck would you sign a new contract last summer if it was always your intention to leave on the condition that we didn't make the CL? Sorry Luis but you're lying about that. Anyway, that's not really the point apart from the really soft lads we've all known this moment was coming sooner or later. He's just another Torres who got too big for his boots and thinks the grass is greener so fuck him, personally I have no interest in keeping a player who does not want to wear our shirt he really can fucking do one, there will be no tears from me. Go and take your ridiculous on field antics and annual 10 match bans somewhere else you ungrateful little bastard. On another note, this really is another sharp reminder to our owners that football clubs that are not playing in the Champions League can not expect to keep hold of CL calibre players for very long these days.
  8. There's a big part of me that thinks he'll be throwing our unwavering love and support back in our face pretty soon. Fuck him. I really don't care anymore, I don't even fucking care where he ends up. All I ask for is a good price and a quick resolution.
  9. It's very easy to say with hindsight but I must say that I've looked upon all of his behaviour since and including the bite with a great deal of cynicism. I'm sad but not surprised by any of this weeks developments. Should a move to another English Club become a serious possibility for all parties then expect Chelsea and City to join the bidding too.
  10. Or it means a very nice contribution to the Stadium Redevelopment kitty. Guess we'll see where FSG's priorities lie should that happen.
  11. Nah it's not a rant mate it's a good post and I honestly hope for all of the reasons you mentioned that we do keep him and I hope that you're right.
  12. Agree with all of this but the question remains what does Suarez want to do? It's going to very difficult and impractical to keep him if he wants to leave.
  13. Shit's getting serious now hey? No doubt that he's going (somewhere) it would seem.
  14. My Girlfriend is Swedish. lives in Helsingborg. She would love for me to move....thinking about it too.
  15. I'm just a bit confused by all this to be honest. So we sign a new goalkeeper and the assumption (sadly I might add) is that Pepe wants to leave and he has that move to Barcelona lined up. That all makes sense and you might say is a quick decisive move to solve an impending problem. Then a coupe of weeks later Pepe is off on loan to Napoli? You're not fucking telling me that Pepe has always wanted to (a) Play in Italy (b) Wanted to leave Liverpool for Napoli? All I can assume that that whatever move/deal Pepe had lined up has fallen through.
  16. No sense in this at all. Unless this is all part of the master plan to make our squad weaker and cut our wage bill in which case it's a job well done.
  17. Rodgers left looking stupid? I don't believe it.
  18. What's the story with FSG anyway, do they have the money or don't they? I mean are the a little bit hard up at the moment (I mean let's face it a lot of us are) or does their main priority lie in funding their 'Rounders' Franchise?
  19. We would not have signed Mignolet if Pepe was not leaving. I suspect this will turn out to be a pretty pointless poll.
  20. To be honest I would have been just as underwhelmed with Martinez as I was with Rodgers. Everton have absolutely hit their glass ceiling at the moment, it would be impossible for them to do any better than they have in the last two seasons with their resources.
  21. Fucking bizarre that this time last year he's in Miami with John Henry and now he's Everton's new boss. I wonder what really happened last summer?
  22. At the end of the day Suarez is a World Class footballer and nobody can deny that. It's just a sad reality now that a team that consistently finishes outside of the Champions League cannot expect to keep hold of World Class footballers. We now need to make sure that get as much as we can for him from Madrid i.e. at least £50M and we need to make sure that we invest the money wisely. If he goes, he goes. I'll be sad to see him leave and he'll be very hard to replace but there won't be any tears.
