  1. Sorry I meant Stoke no idea why I put Wigan ! (I was looking at the league table at the same time so seeing where we would be if we beat Everton .. Above Wigan -12th - possibly the reason)! Midfield well quite a few could be shipped out Lucas (though I would possibly keep him), Maxi, Babel, Poulson (should be but doubt he will), Jova (though should be playing upfront), Spearing aswell as a few "fringe players" (we have 53 1st team players). Bring a right winger and a left winger in and will change our season (we missed out on Ben Arfa regretably - obviously without the injury). Strikers well don't really need to say we really only have two and one of them is not ready, though tbf to him he has scored more this season than our main striker (due to Injury) , maybe go for Llorente (Bilbao) and another maybe Kiessling (Leverkusen), as I feel we need atleast two more strikers for when Torres is injured. Aguero would be nice but I can't really see it happening!
  2. It is possible we could sell players like Skrtel, as we have also been linked to players such as Cahill (Bolton) and Shawcross (Wigan though he is a former Manc). The only problem with that is that if Roy is still here I can't see him dropping Cara (blasphemy) so we will be kinda in the same situation, IMO it should be Agger and A.nother.
  3. This is kinda why we need Kenny in that role (DoF) and get a Coach in his ilk (or kinda learning form Kenny), with regards to Hodgson if we win tomorrow I can see that changing a few peoples minds about him, when in reality it should not he is not good enough. If you read my post earlier http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/forum/2499702-post1121.html (yeah most will have bypassed it as its massive), you will get an idea of why I feel this way 35 years of mediocraty and abject failure with a season or two of luck. In no way am I discreditting the title he has won but the standard of leagues are alot lower than the premiership/serieA. When he eventually went to a big club it just does not work. If as we believe NESV are all stats men with regards to Players/coaches etc then I can't see them keeping Roy as his win Ratio is very poor, I would post it up here but making a table is a pain so i'll just give you the wiki link Roy Hodgson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (the table is pretty much at the bottom). When a manager has had nearly as much draws as wins in his/her career then it can only mean one thing average. Roy Hodgson = Mr Average
  4. If Kenny gets the job of Manager till the end of the season, he then buys players who he likes etc and then moves into a possible Director of football role the following season, might work but would we as a club use the Coach and DOF route. The American way is kinda coach and DOF (general manager I think they call it), the only problem with this is that if the Coach and DoF have different ideas in game style ..ie Hodgson and Kenny would not really work ... Kenny wants Turan..Hodgson wants Poulson
  5. I think for them its the perfect time to buy the club, can spend abit in the winter transfer window, but come the summer its live within your means time (what you earn) thats why this window is vital its done right, I am sure they will see this aswell. I guess though the LFC.tv will possibly start showing American sports aswell, never really been a fan of the American sports but who knows "rounders for men" might be ok, and that netball for men who are tall could beat watching nightscreen etc !
  6. Joachim Loew ..I say this everytime the question pops up , the reasons are obvious, and he appears to be the type of manager that NESV would go for if you read about what they did at the Red Sox, either him or take a chance with someone like Didi Hamann, young knows the club and alround top bloke.
  7. Dundee are winning poor fkers 2 mill in debt and go into admin down here 2 mill in debt and its the best possible news! Typical as i was writting this Stirling scored =/
  8. I wrote this Piece on TIA it basically shows Hodgsons past and what I feel about his ability its quite a big read so beware ! Lets have a serious look at Roys record and his 35 year reign as one of the worlds top managers (according to him anyway), for me his tactics are outdated (about 35 years out-dated strangley enough), he won a few trophys in very poor leagues, no disrespect to former clubs but there is a large difference between the Swedish league and the Premiership. Roy started his Career with Halmstad of Sweden in 1976 and had a few successful seasons with them notably winning the League in the 1976 and 1979 seasons. He then went to Bristol City (1980) ..failed spectacularly, and after failing here he went back to Sweden (1983) and picked up a few titles, firstly with Orebro in the 1983 to 85 seasons and then from 1985 to 1990 with Malmo collecting five league titles in a row. Then moved to Switerland (1990) to manage Neuchâtel Xamax before becoming the Swiss national coach (1992) and taking them to the World Cup Finals in 1994, he then moved to Inter Milan (1995) with mixed results (alot of draws) making Inter a very "midtable team". He then moved to Blackburn in 1997, In his first full season in charge, Blackburn finished 6th, qualifying for the UEFA cup and appearing to be in the ascendancy - especially as they had been outsiders in the title race for more than half of the season. Hodgson's second season with Blackburn did not live up to the standards of the first: due to a succession of poor buys – notably the £7.5 million Kevin Davies - Blackburn had a disastrous start to the season and Hodgson was sacked in December 1998, with the club bottom of the league table. (sound familiar). Hodgson then returned to Inter (1999) and promptly moved on the Grasshopper's for one season then moved on again to Copenhagen (2000) won a title (again a relatively small standard league) before moving on to Udinese(2001) and after six months got fired! He then managed UAE national side (2002) with mixed success 17 games 4 wins (depends how much you rate UAE as a national football side), he then moved to Viking of Norway (2004) and did reasonably well bringing then from the relegation candidates to a mid table team. He then moved again to become Finland's national team manager (2005) for the Euro 2008 qualifiers, coming 4th in thier group (failing to qualify for the 2008 euros) and collecting 24points the team was said to be very good defensively but criticized for inefficient attacking. Finland played five 0–0 draws in 14 qualification games. (sounds familiar except for the defensive bit)! Hodgson then moved to Fulham ( Dec 2007) where the narrowly avoided relegation on the last day of the season , the following season he guided his side to a seventh placed finish in the Premier League, the club's highest ever finish, and ensured qualification for the new Uefa Europa League, he guided Fulham to their first major European final in their 130 year history, but this was detriment to their league position slipping down 5 spots to 12th in the league the in the same season. On the 30th June 2010 Hodgson was named the successor to Rafa Benitez to very mixed reception from the fans. All in all a very average manager with a very average record, if you take only league games roy has been manager of Liverpool football club his win ratio is only 14%, we may well be in transistion but still the football we are playing is appaling, the tactics are terrible, his insistance on playing players out of position, his insistance on having a "A" team and a "B" team, critising the young players yet failing to put senior players on the bench who may have changed the game, failing to defend his players when other managers critise them (whether rightly or wrongly he should have defended them), critizing fans for thier protest efforts, his woeful defeatist attitude in interviews, and his insistance on playing a player (Poulson) who is so out of form/not fast or good enough for the premiership who when playing for his national side recieved a score of 0/6 and were asking him to stop playing and learn to play another sport is just not good enough! All in all I am afraid Roy is just not upto the job as a Liverpool manager, I will however give him tell Christmas to change hearts and minds though I have to say the thought of Roy using our last remaining tranfer budget before the new finacial fairness rules come in is very worrying I for one do not dream of a team full of Poulsons!
  9. Yeah they are the players on the offy we are/have been linked to recently, I would not be surprised to see honda though .... Honda = Japanese market = mega money he's like Beckham to the Japanese apparently.
  10. Well if we are going to spend in the winter transfer season I would prefer if it was not Hodgson but thats a different story. The people we have been linked with so far: Keisuke Honda : Keisuke Honda - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Juan Mata : Juan Manuel Mata - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Arda Turan (the ever present) : Arda Turan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Stefan Kiessling : Stefan Kießling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Lisandro Lopez : Lisandro López - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Ibrahim Afellay : Ibrahim Afellay - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia nice to see we are being linked to quite a few wingers!
  11. Ah great Redzawi could only find one earlier good to see there is a decent version of it =)
  12. not a great version of the interview (picture wise) but still who wants to look at the fcuker YouTube - TOM HICKS RESPONSE TO LIVERPOOL FC SALE
  13. That interview in some respects makes things even better he looked fcuking gutted mahahaha.... pretty sure he libel'ed himself aswell with the conspiracy going on for months etc
  14. Well Carlos "slim" Helu does have shares in the New York Times (though last I heard he was trying to sell them), The Chinese link could be a KWOK of shit though .
  15. Streamick.com - Watch TV online free TV broadcast directory skysports news stream its abit "bouncy" but sound is perfect =)
  16. Legend shame it did not happen while he was still here
  17. Broughton said the bids were very close he never actually stated which was the biggest bid, pretty sure I'll have to listen to the interview again
  18. TBH derrickt from that he sounds like a decent guy lol
  19. Lim was winning the bid till the very last minute, then it went to NESV, so could it be the same thing happening again ? IS LIM the Shiekh and are NESV the H&G? BBC News - Liverpool to receive new bid from Singapore billionaire taking from this I do find a few things worrying from what Lim has said : "What's more - and Mr Lim regards this as crucial - all the money being provided by him would come from his own cash resources. He is not planning to borrow any of it" [implication being, NESV are not paying in cash] " Mr Lim was told that Liverpool's board was concerned that New England Sports Ventures would have to borrow to finance the takeover - raising questions about whether Liverpool really would break free from the financial shackles perceived to have been imposed by the current owners, George Gillett and Tom Hicks" Either way Hicks could use the change of who was winning to the NESV group and/or a possible better offer coming in from Lim to his advantage, like I said though I do find this last minute swap of who is best to be worrying smells like what happened to the Shiekh!
  20. Just from them Highlights I would say he was prety much responsible for every goal against them, and if Portugal had a decent striker it could have been 6/7 just from Poulson errors
  21. As I have posted elsewhere on here quite abit I think Joachim Loew would be a great manager for us, Youngish (50) willing to play younger players, and done well with a very young German team, would also seem to be the type of manager NESV would go for.
