  1. So happy to see him twisting in the wind... fantastic bit of shadenfreude going on I know, but I must admit I'm enjoying it...
  2. Funny... I thought we were turning into RAWK by castigating our 35 million pound striker 4 games into the young season... and starting a new thread about it almost daily. Agreed he's a professional footballer and needs to perform, however now that he's here, his price tag is not important. What's important is that the best players play and Kenny get the most out of the team. Which will happen. One game a season does not make...
  3. :wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt: ummm....... :wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt::wallbutt:
  4. WTF? How does THAT work? or is this deal some way of paying off a mortgate or loan?
  5. Two years ago we were owned by the the cowboy and the razor and they were full of shit when it came to ANY business dealings. Ayre hadn't been hired yet either if memory serves (or he had just come on board)... Sorry but Bascombe is full of shite there...
  6. Maybe, but its not about Mata himself necessarily. Could be Hazard or any of the of the other 'TOP' young prospects out there. Not looking to build young talents who have gone stale, rather looking to give the next superstar the place to shine... a couple of those really force the first team to improve as they come in and push others down the pecking order. Thus creating depth. But MY argument is that both are overpriced to a degree because they both play for rival clubs. Looking to the continent, we can more than likely find someone of their ilk or probably even better for less money given the quality of the leagues and the lack of an 'english tax' or a 'rivals tax' on players in the same league... Maybe so, and I agree that both are good players, but I think my concern lies more in whether they are overvalued to the point where they can never live up to their pricetag, similar to what Andy Carroll will face if he doesn't hit the ground running this summer.... Do I trust in the King and Comolli? yes. But I still have some reservations about how we're seeing this play out. My HOPE is that these are mostly red-harrings and we don't really know who we're after, but that all remains to be seen.
  7. I'm not so sure its that we're addressing our needs, but the quality of the addressing that needs to be done. I don't see why we can't go for a Mata or other superstud type signing. I have a really hard time overpaying for British talent simply because they 'know the league'. If they're good enough, go get them. If we get turned away because we're not in Europe, then that's the player's loss not ours. We have the quality and the manager to challenge for a lot of things next season, but I've always believed that its important to add from the top of the squad, not the middle. Challenge your best and your best keep improving. We have not done that until maybe the Suarez signing in a couple years...
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all the youngsters on the verge of breaking thru from the academy supposed to provide us the squad depth (just across the back we have Robinson, Flano and Kelly - who keeps getting projected into the center with time), so that the club can go and spend real money on players who will improve the first eleven? It makes no sense to bring in players who aren't miles better than what we see on the field week in and week out. We'll get the depth as a consequence of replacing a current starter and not stifle the youth coming up at the same time. 10 new players who are all the same or marginally better than what we've got or got coming up is simply wasting money. Thinking this way, I look at a left back (since GJ should be on the right and Kelly phased into the center) and wingers as what we NEED. Kuyt can be the rotated forward and we have quality pretty much everywhere with the wingers. The kids provide the depth, they've proven they can handle a spot start or three, and we move forward, addressing any major deficiencies in January...
  9. Yes, yes... thank you.... forgot to put on my bullshit filter this morning....
  10. Uh on.... Ngag is his idol? That spells trouble...
  11. This is a sure fire sign that the press know fuck all about our transfer dealings... how could anyone in their right mind think this possible?
  12. I think it screams "we're still bigger than you and can wear whatever freakin color we want!" Betcha it sells more than the bitters or shitty...
  13. Well, since Arsenal doesn't actually participate in the transfer market Abs needed something to occupy his summer....:whistle:
  14. I want it. I want to see the team play and see the younger players get a shot (which was SUPPOSED to happen under the owl but never really came good after the Northampton debacle)... I see the EL as a perfect starter for the youth in the side, even in the qualifiers. Since the team will actually try to win now, I'm confident we'll be fine and do well. The experience and the opportunity to see the future of the side outweighs the Sunday starts for me...
  15. I want slur in charge when we re-ascend to the top of the pile. I want him to be sputtering and chew a hole thru his lip when we pull the double over them and win everything in sight... and I want to see (and hear) Kenny do it all to him with that big smile on his face...
  16. Well, Jose does what he does. He turned the games into shite because we all saw what happens to his teams when they try to play honest football against Barcelona... 5-0 and his pride disappeared. Real played these last four matches in desparation mode.... they got one victory, but I'm sure its a hollow one. The diving from Barca can be annoying, but until they start banning players for the theatrics post-match (probably using video similar to what they do for serious fouls in Italy), it's not going anywhere... They still play the best football in the world at the moment (give us time...) and I really do hope they wipe the floor with the Mancs at Wembley (though I'm hoping Shalke get their shite sorted and make tonight a game).....
  17. With all the talk about the third party ownership situation and possible points deduction and fines and all that... What, if any, punishment has been dealt out with this in the past and would it prevent QPR from coming into the Premiership or drop them into the playoff places? I'm very unclear about it, though I'm sure some are delighting in Neil Warnock's 'issues'.....
  18. No I meant any spares for tomorrow? I'm in the country on holiday and don't want to get scammed for 200quid to not see the game. Only chance to see the team live until they come to the USA.
  19. Last shot, any chance from anywhere?!?!
  20. Well, I bought the plane tix. So we'll be in London that weekend... Any advice chasing this lost cause would be greatly appreciated.
