  1. I'll give Roy the beneift of the doubt on this one: Johnson has been poor and a shadow of the raiding full-back that we saw in his first few games for us. Kelly has been impressive and shown a good attacking ability for a player who is essentially a centre-back. However, it does raise a whole series of other questions. I would hope that Roy has tried to address this behind closed doors before opening his enormous trap to the press. And if he's been so disappointed with Johnson, why has he tried to rush him back into the first team in the last few games before he was fully fit? Kelly has done nothing in the last few games that most of us couldn't see he was capable of before, and Roy preferred Carra to him at right back recently. Is this Roy trying to tell NESV, 'yes, I can play the young players, honest'. I think Kelly's a great prospect and he's got the potential to go a long way. But I hope we are all patient with him. I can remember some of the stick Carra got at fullback in his early days. Kelly looks more comfortable than Carra did, but he will still have off days and I'd hate to see him go the same way as Insua.
  2. So Roy, what was it Kenny achieved at Blackburn?... League title, I see. And what was it you achieved at Blackburn? Bottom of the table you say. It says here Kenny bought Alan Shearer and Colin Hendry and you bought Kevin Davies and Christian Dailly. Roy, ask Mr Dalglish to step in here, and don't let the door hit you on the arse on your way out.
  3. Think we'll win this - I hope we do - but Roy will be even more unbearable as a result. It will be a day to be writ in Liverpool legend, something to stand the test of time against the Glory That Was Rome, the Miracle of Istanbul, and that spawny win - sorry, famous victory against Trabzonspor. Well, according to Roy anyway.
  4. "Jamie is a centre back and that is where I think he should be playing. I don't like having to move him to full-back but it would be wrong to put young Kelly into the team and leave someone like Kyrgiakos or Skrtel out. We need the experience." Way to encourage the young players, Roy. What a load of cobblers. The only criterion should be: who will give the best performance at right back? No disrespect to Carragher but Martin Kelly on current form should be first choice not distant third. I absolutely despair that this man is in charge of this club.
  5. This reminds me so much of the last days of Houllier - talking a load of bollocks and denying the evidence of our own eyes. That was a good performance apparently. Fucking hell.
  6. Come on Roy, do the decent thing. Time to go.
  7. I'm in number 2. Which is pretty much where this club will be if we leave this tosser in charge for much longer. Clean sweep, thanks for steadying the ship Roy by ramming it into a jetty, but we never wanted you, you're out of your league, you're fired.
  8. He was just being a cunt, in the same way Rodney Marsh used to try and pose as some kind of controversial 'thinker'. Christ, when Neil Custis comes across as the most reasonable person in a group, you know you're in Cunt City.
  9. Roy left Blackburn bottom at Christmas. The next manager was unable to save them although as that was Brian Kidd, it's not much of a surprise. So I would say we can't afford to leave it too long to push the button. It's got away from Roy quicker than even I would have predicted.
  10. I'll come out and say I want Roy gone and as quickly as possible. Comparisons with other Liverpool managers and pleas to 'give him time' are irrelevant. Roy doesn't have time. He's been brought in as a short term manager with a short term aim to 'steady the ship'. There is no long term with Roy, only what he does now. With Houllier or Benitez, there were 'five year plans' and 'ideas'. Roy is totally about today, and if today is getting worse, what's the point?
  11. After we draw against Blackpool, and the blueshite get their first League win of the season against us, Roy will show that he is the man of dignity that people keep telling us he is, and fall on his sword. Clueless bugger will probably miss it but you can't have everything.
  12. I know you didn't like Rafa but bloody hell, give it a rest. He's gone. There are some who won't forgive Roy for not being Rafa, but regardless of that, Roy is fucking this up big-style. Press dealings - allegedly his strength -, team selections, transfers, tactics, substitutions, the lot. He's got to get a grip and he could start by talking a damn sight less.
  13. Watching Roy give an interview on LFC TVs build up show - he's currently making Northampton sound like European Cup winners.
  14. Hodgson is out of his depth and spending too much time scratching himself and yakking to the press. Get a grip Roy and quickly.
  15. Nonsense. I don't think its an overstatement to say Roy Evans saved this football club. Look at where we were and where we were heading under Souness. Roy got us playing beautiful football, some of the best I've seen us play, when it looked like we were down and out. The defence was much better than it's given credit for too. The 95/96 video should be essential viewing for all Reds. Yes, you can point to how it fizzled out and the off-the-field issues, but without Roy, we'd never have been in a position to have success under Ged and Rafa. And I could argue that under current rules, that team would have qualified comfortably for the Champions League each year.
  16. For the moment. But we'll be back. Maybe not tomorrow, but one day.
  17. Because he's the first manager who hasn't had strong links to the club or represented a step forward from the departing manager. Benitez drove me mad at times, especially in the transfer market, so I'm no kneejerk Rafa-ite. But on tactics, he'd see Hodgson off 9 times out of 10.
  18. Whats the point? At this stage of his career, he's not suddenly going to become any less injury prone.
  19. I'd love to see the 95/96 review on DVD. Never tire of watching the video of that season. I don't think we scored an ordinary goal all year.
  20. Get real, Roy won't even be able to shop at Netto let alone sign some of the names in this thread, even the crap ones. Never mind City signing David Silva, the Torygraph has Gilberto Silva down as Roy's first signing. The most optimistic budget I've seen is £15m - anything else, even after sales, is pie in the sky.
