    Why have we always been abysmal in the first half under Roy, no matter who we are playing against, home and away? Then the same players always at least pick it up a bit in the second half..

    Good observation, but he said he needs to get rid of dead wood, and there are players in the first eleven he should start with, like Lucas, Skrtel and Maxi, with Johnson getting close if he doesn't buckle up his dreads.

    Agreed. It's just like Rafa's late subs, or even worse. And every game under Roy we have played abysmally in the first half. It was obvious Lucas was a liability today, and offered nothing creatively either, while the Greek was needed in defence. We were sooo lucky to get away with a draw....a Brum. Says it all really.

    That's called the Lucas style. He has already spread it to Johnson, who is half the player he was at the beginning of last season. Wish he'd cut off those fucking dreads and concentrate on the football. We already know how crap certain players are, so what worried me the most was Fernando's play and attitude. Is he unwell, jet-lagged, or just annoyed at still playing for us?

    I want Jovanovic to become our Agbonlahor. Well, I've seen Babel and Kuyt fail too often, so can still hold out hope for him. His scoring record is surprisingly good for a left winger.

    Not the profile we're looking for. He's smaller than me FFS...and Santa Cruz got into the City squad in any case, so no point looking into his buyout clause. Either we make do with what we have, or we contact the likes of Joorabchian about players they own and deal around like pimps. ..

    Oh dear....I would save Torres for the Premier League this year, unless it becomes clear very soon we are out of the running now we resort to praying that Roy's famed coaching skills can transform Ngog, Jovanovic and Babel, I guess...and that new owners do actually appear before the next transfer window

    Poulsen will be fine once he had a decent partner, so hopefully Meireles won't flop. But I tell you what -- I WISH we had Olsson instead of Skrtel. He kept Nando in his pocket for most of today (admittedly not that hard with the crap service)

    Have to agree. Until Meireles can start, we need "verticality" in midfield. Lucas off, then bring Babel on for an extra threat. Also agree with the comment about Skrtel. He should be a reserve at best. Can't wait till Agger is back at the centre.

    maybe a diamond with Stevie on the right, Meireles on the left, Poulsen furthest back, and Cole behind the striker(s). That is, if this signing goes through okay. I want to see the ink dry first. the Mirror think we are going for Inler still...

    Sure, just referring to the Aquilani for Alonso disaster which I still can't fathom.. by the way, I liked Rafa, but trying to be optimistic here
