Just a while ago everyone was saying we have too many midfielders. Well, no one was going to pay 12 mill for Maxi (or Alberto) so Raul was the prime candidate. When we have both Gerrard and Hendo, with Shelvey improving also, we can forget all about Raul, his tattoos and mohawk and his contrastingly wimpish inability to tackle.

Definitely need a first team centre-half. Why have the Dann and Cahill rumours gone quiet? Were they just baseless? Hummels would be class obviously IF we could tempt Dortmund.

evans is right that we need a centre-half, given Agger's fragility. Lucas was our player of the season for a reason, and not simply by default. Please get off his back. I would prefer another striking option ahead of a new left-back when both Johnson and one of the youngsters can play there well, but maybe I am just greedy..
