We are basically playing the same tactics with worse players considerably so in some cases. It was never going to just suddenly click. I’ve said it before but we need to fundamentally change the way we play and it needs to include wingers on the touchline with full backs overlapping.

It’s odd how little if ever he actually makes it to the byline attacking either yet is caught out of position so often. Against Sheffield the goal comes from him getting a byline cross in and we just revert back to the same Shite of not doing it all game.

I think the adaption thing is Klopp protecting him. He will have just been absolutely Shite in training I think. I’d say we probably have nothing to lose now but before last night we had top 4 to lose.

I completely agree. I just can’t understand why he’s then left there out on his own game in game out. He’s created countless chances and made lots of assist in recent years and it’s because Mane was out there getting to the byline or allowing Robertson to overlap. Over time Mane has gone more and more central and with it our attacking play has hit a wall. Klopp spoke about making our attack unpredictable which seems to have involved in Mane now permanently playing centrally and it’s absolutely killed us off.

The media went after Corbyn from day one and Labour came close to winning. If the whole party was behind him and singing from the same socialist hymn sheet they likely would have won. People are on to the biased press you just need to tap into it. It’s all irrelevant now though anyway because we won’t see another left wing Labour leader in our lifetime.

It completely depends on signings. We need an out and out winger to help the full backs and stretch teams and we need a centre forward who will stay in the box and score goals from crosses. We also need one or two centre backs. Gomez and Matip will get mid to long term injuries again and it would be suicide to rely on big Virg to stay fit the whole season off the back of his horrific injury.

The point doesn’t still stand. It was the biggest game of the season with the opportunity to turn the season around and start a run at finishing fourth and you wanted to start the slowest centre back to have ever graced the premier league which also would have meant a 19 year old and a 20 year old partnering each other. It’s like you’ve got absolutely no brain. We were Shite but we defended relatively well and only conceded once. We just never looked like creating anything and you think turning our defence into a complete mess to play a different defensive centre mid is going to help us create chances. It’s just absolutely batshit crazy. Rhys Williams is probably the worst centre back to have ever started for us. He’s a kid and might get better but he’s absolutely awful and can’t run. We would have been 5-0 down at half time. I just can’t fathom how you’re still sticking to this.

I think the automatic assumption that UKIP voters automatically vote Tory is a lazy one. There’s plenty of left wing people that wanted out of Europe. After the referendum when Labour originally said they would respect the result and leave the EU we seen Labour getting a lot of those voters on an old school socialist manifesto. If we had played Williams last night against Werner he would have been absolutely slaughtered. I agree on the second but though which is why I think the clamouring for him to play in midfield regardless of how badly it leaves us short at the back is short sighted. It’s not going to suddenly make us create more chances. I wrote it last night, we need to fundamentally change the way we attack. We need two players wide with one overlapping over and over again. We only ever have one person who’s then forced to come inside over and over again. Klopp’s response to it was to get Salah off and put Mane wide right. Salah coming off was 100% tactical imo but it still failed because Mane was then wide on his own anyway.

Absolute batshit criticism of Jones now. He’s not being asked to play every week. He had loads of time out of the team and came back in making the difference against West Ham off the bench and Sheffield United. He started today off the back of a man of the match performance. Who the fucking hell else were you going to start ahead of him? It’s the same comical nonsense about not starting Fabinho at centre back tonight when the only other available player is Rhys Williams which would have been the equivalent of throwing the game. Jones is 20 years old playing in centre midfield and his game has come on massively from the already ridiculously talented player he was to begin with which shows he’s got more chance of being a future star than anyone else we have. The creativity problems have been the same and sometimes worse with him out of the team.

I disagree. We tend to play out from the back and through midfield very well. I don’t know what game people are watching if they don’t see this. It’s about the only thing we do well. You can see we’ve trained it to within inch of our lives. We’ve gone from Hendo in the No. 6 role firing the ball back to where it came from years ago to every midfielder we have taking it on the turn even when under pressure. We work the angles to perfection every game. We have loads of possession and it’s the reason why we hardly ever give it away and it’s lots of 2 touch and 1 touch passing which isn’t slow either. What follows is a number of things. We sometimes go long up the line, we sometimes hold possession going side to side, we sometimes push one of the full backs up the pitch and sometimes Salah or Mane goes to the touchline and gets it. What they all have in common is that a player on the ball at that point is left in a situation where he needs to beat the man in front of him on his own. Nobody overlaps the player on the ball out wide causing the full back problems. It’s worked quite well over the years but every single team we come up against now clearly knows if they fill the middle of the pitch and you just double up on that man on the ball out wide and just allow crosses to come in from deep positions because they are never threatening ever. Salah can’t beat one man most times never mind two. Trent never overlaps which is fucking mental when you see how often he leaves us exposed. He may as well do it. On the opposite flank it’s Robertson on his own. When someone bothered to go out to the left I think it was either Jones or Firmino and he went down the line they just ignored him or used him as a decoy to play a cute pass inside which led to nothing every time because players got crowded out. It’s the same thing every game.

Get a grip of yourself.

We need to fundamentally change the way we play. We don’t create chances anymore because we just continually do the same thing and it just no longer works. We watch the same game every single week. Everything is so predictable. The quality of opposition literally just doesn’t matter because it’s so easy to play against us. Van Dijk and the other centre backs coming back isn’t going to change it. We just don’t get to the byline and that’s the bottom line for me. We can’t break sides down anymore with cute bits of passing and dribbling around the box. It just doesn’t work.

There’s just so little effort or even intelligence to get the ball to the byline. Robertson is the only person on the pitch who regularly tries to get there and I reckon 90% of the time there’s nobody to overlap for him to have a clear run at it. The other 10% players just pass the ball inside to crowded areas. City do it every week and it’s why they create so many clear cut chances. This move to Mane inside just exacerbates the problem. He’s now gone right but trent very rarely overlaps himself.

As Shite as Firmino has been and I personally would have had him as the first person to take off I reckon Klopp is picturing a bit of a low block from Chelsea for the reaming minutes. Firmino carries more threat in the air. Salah has also spent most of the half giving the ball away with the classic ill run it in to his shins tactic.

Trent has been fucking comically bad. He’s in lazy sulk mode. Needs to get a fucking grip.

The line is completely mental. There’s absolutely no pressure on the ball. They’re just playing through any press we try so we’ve given up yet are playing a suicidal line to try to catch the fastest player in the league offside. Firmino was garbage again. It was his Shite no chance of success pass that caught us out. Trent doesn’t help Fabinho at all. Just cowers behind him and offers no protection. All mount has got on offer is that cut in and shot. Trent should be blocking off that inside space and letting Fabinho push him outside. He’s just so shit defensively and so fucking lazy. It’s painful watching it.
