Let’s be honest, Carlton Palmer could probably get a hat trick against this Everton side.

Somebody got “cleansed” on Countdown today. I'm disappointed that we’re yet to see a Photoshop of Countdown Katie Hopkins standing next to this spelt out but with the word “ethnically” added to it .

The victims of this tragic disaster are often just listed as names. But, the link below hammers home how many lives were devastatingly changed by what happened. They weren’t just 97 people. They were other people’s brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, partners, spouses, friends, colleagues or the lad who’d carry the local old lady’s shopping home for her. And, it was 97 lost opportunities. 97 people who all had hopes, dreams, desires, ambitions and aspirations. The link hammers that home too. Particularly with the younger victims. They were just starting out on the journey of life - starting apprenticeships, college courses or going to university. They all seemed like decent, honest, hardworking, educated and ambitious people. Good eggs. Which make the calculated efforts to smear them as violent, drunken hooligans all the more galling and anger inducing. Something which sadly persists in the here and now. All victims of one of the biggest miscarriages of justice that that this country has ever seen. IT’S FUCKING ON! Paul Merson has just categorically stated that City won’t lose the title from where they are.

It’s a big ask but we shouldn’t give up hope until it’s mathematically impossible. We’ve had ludicrous calls going against us which could’ve made us around 7-9 points better off and Arsenal and City a point worse off. That’s made me make peace (or more like a state of wounded but powerless inevitability) with us not winning the league. So, anything that keeps us in it a bit longer is a bonus. But, the above, in a strange way, has made me not give up hope. There’s the cliché that “these things even themselves out over the season.” Not sure that I necessarily agree with anything being capable of levelling out some of the utterly unacceptable decisions we’ve been on the end of this season. But, I’ve got to believe that City won’t always get the rub of the green. They’ve always been lucky, lucky bastards as well as being bad financial doping cheats. The Sterling offside when he played for us, the Rodri non-penalty against Everton, the Doku non-penalty, Kompany scoring a once in a lifetime goal to secure a win against Leicester, a dodgy penalty at Wolves in 21/22. Just some of the woeful decisions and unprecedented incidents which have seen them beating us to titles. I can’t bring myself to accept that cheating fuckers will always be blessed with such spawniness and luck too. At some point, even if it’s just once, surely the footballing gods will conspire to ensure that something goes against them? I’m just going on blind faith that it’ll happen this season and that we don’t keep on getting the shitty end of the stick.

Awful. We should’ve scored one of the chances. And, the criminal misuse of TAA when we’re chasing the game and need to score was infuriating. Get him wide. Stretch the play. Get crosses in. Anything can happen, a goal, a deflection for an own goal or to create a bit of chaos in the Palace box or even a corner, which is one of the areas that they struggled from a bit today. Instead, you’ve got a proven assist machine picking up the ball miles from goal and laying off little 6 yard passes to the centre backs or getting in the half spaces and having to try and dink an inch perfect pass over and in behind a well disciplined Palace back line. It hasn’t made much sense to me at all in the past. But, in today's circumstances, it was mind boggling.
