  1. Funny you should say that as a quick glance through your 18,000 odd posts reveals you to be a bit of a joke figure on here, emphasised by your gibberish about Rafa walking out for a few hours. Does Benitez strike you as someone who would let the owners take advantage of him again after the lengthy power battle to get more control? All this bleating about money and the owners is designed to take the focus off his poor judgment in the transfer market and mistakes with the team this season, and he's made some howlers recently.
  2. This fact is it? According to Johnson hed already made his choice and it was just a case of agreeing a fee. I always felt the City and Chelsea links were designed to squeeze more money out of us, and we duly obliged and also made him one of the top earners at the club, which must have took up a huge chunk of the overall budget.
  3. I'm not interested in what he's said since, and they might have lied about the whole thing, but at the time the design change and new planning process, which everyone was ecstatic with, made the '60 day' comment totally irrelevant. There are plenty of other lies to expose them with, this just seems petty and desperate.
  4. Well, you can if change a whole new design which needs a whole new planning process, which takes a bit longer than 60 days. It just seems like a petty detail to pull them up on when everyone was behind the design change at the time.
  5. How do you know they didn't? There was lots of mis-information flying round about how much he actually had to spend. For all we know he was in full control of his budget, fully aware of the amount, and spent it accordingly. He was desperate to sign Johnson and was probably panicked into paying way over what he expected, leaving him short elsewhere. Yes, he should have had more to spend but I'm not 100% sure he would have spent it wisely. Fans have a very simplistic view of transfers, ignoring the reality of wages, agents fees, etc, which all come out the budget and always have.
  6. Without wanting to stick up for the owners, who are quite simply unfit custodians, wasn't the 'spade in the ground' quote made before they changed the design from the Parry bowl and had to get new planning, etc?
  7. No manager always gets what he wants in the transfer market, it is part and parcel of the job. The fact remains we still brought in 3 players for a combined total of 40 million quid. Should he have had more? Probably. But there is still major question marks over his transfer strategy and scouting for me.
  8. In, for sure. He drives me mad but he is a great coach and I want him to get it right.
  9. Not looking forward to it either. Im not that concerned about Torres and Gerrard, I just dont think we are defending well enough as a team and are not strong enough in CM to dominate the game. Id take a draw right now as it could kickstart our season. Or it could be a case of damage limitation. If Torres and Gerrard are out Id go for this team but Lucas is nailed on to start. Reina Johnson Carra Agger Aurelio Benayoun Masch Spearing Babel Kuyt Voronin
  10. Don't like the fella, he's bitter and stuck in the past.
  11. It's just a lazy generalisation that. I don't thik he's either of those things. He's not the answer to all our prayers but with options as weak as ours upfront I'd always go for experience ahead of raw youth.
  12. I've got major doubts about Rafa but I don't want him gone. He's a great coach and I want him to get it right. I don't like sacking coaches anyway unless there's no other choice, but I don't think we're at that stage.
  13. Im still struggling to understand what he actually does. He doesnt excel at defending or attacking and lacks the passing vision and character to control a game. He just seems to take up space.
  14. I\'d have played Voronin on Tuesday, and whenever Torres is out. He\'s experienced and far more capable than Ngog.
