  1. Notice a lot of anti-monarchy comments on this subject. Have to say I agree whole heartily, I'm American but I remember the way our press fawned over the "royal wedding" like I was supposed to give a shit about two privileged people flying about on a tour of North America which is heavily funded by people they shouldn't be getting one fucking bit of money from, who are then having an extravagant wedding funded by the same people I've just mentioned. I get why people are saying it's disrespectful to boo it, but I have to say I sympathize far more with those explaining how it's not about your country in the first place and about a bunch of royals who don't care about you. I have nothing against England, I have a lot against the monarchy and monarchies in general, and before anyone brings up anything about America's government - I'm not a fan of those assholes either.
  2. That explains a lot. Get back on the green stuff my friend, then you won't care about the "Rafapologists" and can quit posting agenda driven rants about a man that's not even here anymore.
  3. I think he does to a point. The bastard looked quite sour as his sat there on the bench watching the final pass him by, I'm not sure which feed we get over here in the states on FSC but they had the camera on him quite a few times during the match and every time he looked a miserable cunt. Sure he's picked up his first club medal but he's a fucking afterthought at Chelsea, surely that's not what he had in mind when he said he wanted to win things in his career and had to move to give himself the best chance.
  4. I understand the point you two are making but it's vastly different circumstances isn't it? Rafa proved what he could do here and that was whilst being handicapped by the owners. Also he hasn't been out of management for very long, certainly nowhere near as long as Kenny was prior to him coming back and the way the man spends his time analyzing football matches and teams I'd say there is a good chance he does far better in his next job than he did at Inter. At Inter he felt lied too, considering what he'd been through perhaps he was still in "battle-mode", as many of us were just prior to being rid of those two cunts. Perhaps this lead to him being too aggressive with management too early, who the fuck knows really, but the point is that knowing what we know of the man I'd say at the very least should the owners or Kenny himself decide it's time for him to go Rafa should get an interview, along with other candidates. There is also the convenient factor that as yet, he's unemployed and therefore we wouldn't have to ask anyone's permission to speak with him, or potentially compensate the club we're getting him from. I wouldn't mind Klopp either, but as people have said why leave Dortmund to come to Liverpool at this moment in time? I would also like to add that I don't think we should sack Kenny or bring him upstairs just yet, two cup finals with some of the players we have is a feat in and of itself, but it really doesn't matter what any of us think and should the club or the man himself decide its time my opinions on what should happen are apparent above.
  5. Reina, Enrique and Spearing have all gotten plenty of stick for their performance today. Henderson just didn't do enough, a very average game and average isn't the standard we needed or need in the future, no one has said it's all his fault but the man needs to decide if he wants to be a shithouse or if he wants to be class player. As for Suarez, he never got the ball without 3-4 chelsea players beside him until Carroll came on and then he looked a threat. He's never going to be a great player in the air, not because his heading is poor but because he's going to get beaten more often than not against the taller CB's around the world. If he's unmarked or can run into open space his heading is quite good, when he's marked he's pretty much fucked when it comes to that.
  6. It was clearly in... Listening to the cunts on the commentary over telling me it can't have bounced straight up into bar if it was in had me livid. The ball didn't bounce straight up the twats one only has to look at the angle cechs hand it hitting it to see that it wouldn't have bounced straight up.
  7. England internationals in "bottled it" shocker... Seriously, the fucking MO of the England national team has been bottling it since I was 10 years old and started watching the sport.
  8. Agree with the first bit. I think Kenny has been forced to play Gerrard deep though. Spearing is out of his depth without an established senior player by his side, so he had to take a punt on Gerrard. Preferably it would have been Lucas there next to spearing if we wanted defensive comfort, as Lucas always looks out for both of their positions, very unfortunate he got hurt against those cunts in the LC. Adam wasn't exactly setting the world alight when he was fit either, the fact that we're crying out for at least him back shows how bad the other two have been. Thing is they're shit for different reasons. Spearing just isn't good enough but he has some fucking balls, he can do a job when he only has to win the ball back but he cannot win the ball back and provide attacking threat. Henderson has the talent but is a fucking coward thus far into his short career here. Luckily for him he's young but someone needs to show him films of Downing and have him realize that's all he'll ever be if his balls don't drop.
  9. I wouldn't say you can blame Reina for the second, Spearing as fucking woeful and Skrtel shouldn't be letting the ball through his legs like that. The first one though was piss poor.
  10. He only has one move when he takes his man on anyway, that little step over and shimmy to his left followed by a usually poor attempt at a cross.
  11. hook downing for maxi or kuyt, Hook spearing or henderson for shelvey. Alternatively hook spearing or henderson for kelly and go 3 at the back
  12. Wasn't my first thought either, hence why I asked the fucking question. I didn't realize asking a god damn question was a sin. If either of your location "field" had any mention of the country you were in I wouldn't have asked it.
  13. Are you two in California? I've been looking for a place to watch this, I know of a place in Santa Ana called The Olde Ship but I've never been there. Another place called British & Dominion social club but it's a cover charge to get in there and me and my friend don't want to pay to get in to buy drinks and watch a match considering we both have FSC anyway.
  14. Agreed. The last paragraph is especially pertinent to us. In 04-05 we were the best team in that competition, but when you look at the other teams involved we weren't really in the same class as them as far as consistency and the squad on paper. In 08-09 we were one of the better teams in the competition in terms of consistency and the squad on paper and ended up going out in the quarter-final. It's all about the moment in the CL, 2 games against every team you play. In the group you just have to be good enough for second, and in the other stages you just have to be better than that team over two games. The luck or lack thereof can make or break you. Whilst in the league things tend to even out over the course of the year, except this season with us having a personal vendetta against the woodwork of every premiership stadium. Dodgy refs also play less of a role in the CL because UEFA tends to make sure sound officials are there for the majority of the matches from the group stage on in.
  15. who would get in though? 4-7 would surely devalue the league wouldn't it? I could also see the smaller clubs that have good seasons and make it from time to time claiming it's favorable to the bigger clubs having bad seasons for it to be a playoff. Would probably devalue the FA's competition as well, I'm fairly certain we'd be trying a lot harder in the league if 7th had a chance at being in a playoff for the CL spot. No doubt it would lead to some clubs fucking off the FA Cup altogether should they have progressed this far. None of this "Kenny values Cup Final over 5th" would be going out, even though I feel that's the right attitude especially as we're already in the Europa.
  16. Terry by far. Fernando might be a shithouse ship jumping rat, but Agger will deal with him anyway.
  17. Hahaha, that was great, I can only imagine his contempt is that much better speaking his native language as well, too bad I don't know German. I don't know much about Klopp aside from him making Dortmund into a force to be reckoned with but I'd take him just for the way he'd bash the journos in England after that. As I've said time and again though, I think barring something we don't yet know Kenny see's out his contract here before we look for a new manager.
  18. Yea that's exactly what it sounds like... Kenny likes and respects Rafa, it's that simple. He thinks the man did a good job restructuring the academy and he likely thinks the man is a good manager. He probably doesn't think Rafa should ever have been let go, and surely not to replace him with the caliber of manager we were inquiring on when we did in fact let him go - Hence the reason he put his name into the hat when it was "his job" to find a new manager. He said "fuck it, this lot are trash and I can surely do a better job than them". We ended up with Hodgson and you know how the story goes from there. In fact, the reason most people end up seemingly disliking Rafa has nothing to do with his time here at the club and all to do with the people who make the man out to be some type of perfect footballing messiah. Rafa was great but he had his flaws, particularly when it came to making players feel wanted by him, I'd love to see him back personally but right now Kenny is our manager and I don't believe he has any intention of not being our manager for the remainder of his contract. Whether he signs a new one or not is anyone's guess and ultimately up to himself and the club, but I guarantee you he will see this one out unless the club decide to sack him and pay him off. This knee jerk, instant results society we seem to live in today (though very few people actually get instant success barring a shit ton of cash they likely inherited or were given), is what has gotten us into this mess in the first place and I'd be very disappointed if FSG continued in that frame of mind.
  19. Pep > mourinho and it's not even close for me. Mourinho has been exceptionally bitter at us since his Chelsea days anyway so I don't think he'd want the job.
  20. The peak athletic years for any healthy man are from about 26-28 to 32-33. Obviously like you said, injuries as well as overall health (do they drink more than they should? do they smoke? If so, what are they smoking and how long have they been smoking? Are they eating right?) can bring the numbers either up or down as well as the amount of work they put in and how much training every individuals body can handle (which is influence by things like drinking, smoking, fitness, eating habits and genetics). The right lifestyle, luck in terms of injury, and a good training regimen can elongate those "peak years". So in a sense we agree, it's not nailed on, but it's not exactly mythical either.
