    I'm no big Rafa apologist, but you dont change Managers/Players unless you can bring in someone better. Who would come here?? You think we're up shit creek now!! Wait til they get a yes man in. If nothing else, Rafa is (was ) a desenting voice against the owners and maybe Purslow ( who i wouldnt trust either )

    The yanks are our biggest problem by far. I'm not absolving Rafa of any blame, but I don't think any Manager would be able to build a squad capable of a league challenge under the current owners.

    We shouldn't shift the Manager until the others have gone. Who would you trust to pick the next boss. People who want Rafa gone should be careful what they wish for.

    The yanks are doing a great PR job, getting us all at each others throats, its all part of a big game to them. They have fucked off and left Rafa/Purslow/Broughton to fight it out. This is part of their strategy, I feel. All this is deflecting the attention away from them. In 12 months time when they are still here having said to RBS "We tried to sell, but we can't, give us another extension" They would have had all this time with us focusing on the others whilst they quietly go shafting us some more. This is their way of keeping out of the limelight, let other take the heat. We should not lose sight of the real problem.

    For me, there is no point replacing a Manager unless we can attract someone better. At the moment I don't think we can. I don't want a situation where we appoint a "half way house" Manager. Some people do not remember the Souness, Evans years. Some lad in the pub after the West Ham game wanted Souness back!!! I asked how old he was ( 20 ) Rafa has not had the best of seasons, some of this is his own making, but I think we have greater problems to sort first. I would like to see him backed and not in a position where we have to canibalise the squad

    Didn't know Benitez has been Liverpool Manager for 20 years. Our lack of success is down to a few more people, including Rafa. But would you trust the yanks to pick a Manager ( they ain't gone yet). Be careful what you wish for

    I have this horrible, horrible feeling that this is a smoke screen and the lying, cheating, greedy cunts are not going anywhere simply because they are lying, cheating, greedy cunts. If someone comes in with an offer I can see them saying to themselves" well if he will pay x amount, there must be money to be made so let's keep it and try to make the money for us" hope I'm very wrong - just get the feeling

    All the people who believe Torres won't leave really need to wake up. He left his boyhood club because they could not compete. He will have no qualms leaving us if we find ourselves in a similar position. The boy is a world class player who wants to play at a team vying for titles, as much as he loves Liverpool, he will leave if he thinks he has to. My worry is that nothing has changed re selling the club and that it is all smoke and mirrors. Whilst the 2 greedy cunts want an over inflated price we will struggle doesn't matter who is brokering the deal. In my view RBS have shit out again. The Echo reported yesterday that they will give a 6 month extension.

    Dan Roan on the BBC website has updated his blog with the following: UPDATE 1630 BST: One well-placed source close to RBS has told me the matter could come to a head within the next week and has suggested that Hicks and Gillett have begun talks with a brand new US investment bank in a desperate bid to find a solution.
