  1. Some bloke in work got that team news through in a text and we couldn't quite believe the 4 Central Defenders in the 1 team!!! I suppose it might be one way of dealing with their threat in the air...that is if we had some sort of dominant header of the ball!!
  2. Having read the whole thread, I have similar memories of Oasis as Juan Galonso does; As a young lad just getting into music properly for the first time, Oasis had something about them. I remember hearing Cigarettes and Alcohol for the first time and as a 13 year old, it was mindblowing. No one at that time, in my eyes, had what they had!! I suppose its all opinion and what sort of effect bands have on you personally, but for me, Noel Gallagher got me interested in The Beatles properly, got me into playing the guitar and made me aware of how good music can be. They might not have been the most innovative band, but they never tried to go with the crowd and be something they weren't, they did what they did brilliantly, and it'll be a much quieter place without them!
  3. Good, lets hope he carries on in that sort of bad form then?!
  4. Did he do anything? A chance, or any decent link-up play? I haven't seen any highlights or anything?
  5. Thats exactly it, what was it last season? A few draws early on, but they go on those annoying runs where they hoover up the important points and we end up with eggs on our faces. It's nice to see them lose, but lets not get carried away!! As a side point, did Owen start tonight?
  6. He was class tonight, granted he didn't get that much of a challenge defensively tonight, but he looks pretty good going forward!!
  7. I would agree with that, especially when the likes of Phil McNulty, Charlie Nicholas and others tip us to win it! I don't know why, but I don't like seeing us being bigged up, I'd much rather be ignored and surprise everyone in May!! Patrick Barclay is, of course, entitled to his opinion though!!

Is he likely to change his football philosophy though? In the years since they won the Cup in 05, its the same story each year. Play lovely football, sign youngsters, get to the quarters/semis of a cup and then drop like a stone. Whilst we haven't won anything since 06, we have improved year in year out. Don't get me wrong, too many players get signed each summer rather than a few top class ones, but there is improvement. A distant 4th to a team challenging come May, what can you say about Arsenal? They should sign barry, not us!!

Yeah I know we scored 4 at both grounds, but what I meant was losing 2 early goals like that, it would've knocked our confidence but I don't think the wind would've been completely taken out of our sails! Their flair players are good players but without wanting to sound like a cliche, you need flair and graft; look at Utd; Park and Fletcher, not great players but they bust a gut and I'm fairly sure Arsenal wouldn't play players like them would they? Nasri, Fabregas, lovely to watch but they need a solid spine behind. Seaman, Adams, Keown and Vieira, now thats a spine. All I'm saying is flair will get you so far, but you need a bit of steel!
  10. I'd love Barca to win the whole thing but don't see them beating United. Chelsea would probably stand a better chance than Barcelona as United wouldn't sit back against Chelsea like they would against Barcelona. Though seeing Messi dance around Vidic and Evra would be nice!!

But thats the thing, Wenger doesn't look like he wants to change the way they play: nice attacking players who pass and pass till they score the perfect goal. 2 down within 10 minutes tonight, and no idea or no intention of changing their game. They play one way, no plan B! And they're a team of bottlers, no one stood up for them at 2 down tonight, they just accepted the fact that they wouldn't score 4. Okay, fair enough, we probably wouldn't have scored 4 ourselves, but I'm sure we'd put up a hell of a bigger fight. They have these great flair players, but I wouldn't want them anywhere near our team as they have no balls!! They were at home and just bent over and took it up the arse (no pun intended)!!
  12. Reading that just makes you so angry about the lies and the cover up! Phil, thanks for posting that, I wish I could say how I feel about it, but as Scouse Missionary says, the anger just takes over!! Great read by the way!!
  13. I hate it, stubborn for no reason than skrtel is a signing of his, darby is someone whom he hasn't had a hand in bringing through! I'm not one for sacking him, but he doesn't help himself with all of these crazy decisions he makes!!
  14. I hate having to say it, but that today looked like a performance from a Houllier team circa 03-04, players out of position, and no idea how to create! Why is Skrtel being played at right back ahead of Carra, let alone Darby. I know about the issues with the academy and Macia, but is he that stubborn?
  15. I'm new on here too, but please don't tar all of us with your silly ramblings!! Carra may be 31, but ditching him in favour of a pairing that have never played together (correct me if I'm wrong) is not very clever!!:wallbutt:
  16. Only comments on us in his mirror column when we've lost or drawn. Nowhere to be seen when we win. And also the fact that he thinks the Spice Boy team did better than some of the recent teams cause he was involved in the "original" 4-3 game with Newcastle, and that they played in entertaining games!!!
  17. That post says it all, Scouse Tapas. Top post mate.
  18. I've gotta agree, though winning the FA cup in the year of the 20th anniversary of Hillsborough would've been nice, but if thats the biggest win of Moyes managerial career, then let them celebrate it like it was a cup final. I'm not sure how they will play when they do have a striker or two to choose from though?!
