  1. It doesn’t matter what others do though. The very same tossers who have been calling for null and void to “save lives”, will have been down to the beach, in the park, having barbecues or been on protest marches or at least a proportion of them will have been and they won’t care what the effects of that may be. But when it comes to playing a game against Athletico that we didn’t have a choice to boycott, or our “fans” turning up at a ground we are playing at while restrictions are still in force, we will be pilloried and blamed for all kinds by those very same idiots and the usual suspects in the media. Its what happens. I’d like to think that we wouldn’t have any of ours turn up until its allowed and that they’d save it for any official bus tour that might happen, then really let it rip, but we have so many followers (and detractors) that by the law of averages, some will go ahead regardless of the consequences. It’s interesting there’s been little criticism of Coventry fans congregating the other evening that I’ve heard of.
  2. Think we should announce beforehand that the derby will be used as a warm up game to give the kids a runout and any players who need games to qualify for a league winners medal and further, in agreement with all Evertonians, we have no desire for the league title to be won anywhere near there also, preferring it to be won at Anfield.
  3. They’ll get a slap across both wrists this time instead of just the one they got last time they were charged. And a big fine that’ll be peanuts to their owners.
  4. Missed that. Hope that doesn’t start driving a wedge in.
  5. Naby Keïta - £50M+ Andy Robbo - £7M You never really know how it’ll pan out. Thankfully Klopp does seem to know most of the time, and if he’d really have wanted Werner, I think he’d have got him. There must’ve been some doubt somewhere.
  6. That clock will be worth a few bob on Antiques Roadshow by now.
  7. You just know DaveK and Catcherintheye will be frantically searching right now! As for the Daily Xenophobe reporting this from a YouGov survey (?), then they’ll be trying to set us up for an epic fail somewhere down the line. They were Ingham’s/Thatcher’s mouthpiece back in the day and haven’t changed much since.
  8. Redshite conspiracy. Word document altered to suit. Void the league! Void the league............. (gets dragged off by men in red coats)
  9. While the blame lies with us for much of the violence that led to the deaths, I think there was never enough done to highlight how much LFC and Merseyside Police had warned, and been ignored by, UEFA about playing a game of that magnitude in a stadium that, I think am right in saying, didn’t have a safety certificate. Wasn’t investigated properly then, and won’t ever be now. RIP the 39
  10. 40 today the boy. Could probably still do a job in some teams in the Prem with a bit of fitness training. Happy Birthday Steven. Legend.
  11. With the huge number of fans we have, there’ll be more than a few I suspect Scott. Knobheads will always let you down and we have our fair share, also, television could take a group of a hundred and make it look like thousands, they do it all the time with political rallies, so wherever it happens, and it will, you can expect S*y news to be all over it. Sadly. Also, it wouldn’t be a surprise if a few non- LFC bodies turned up too.
  12. I just wonder what would have happened if one supporter from either side would have died when they had that ruck with Millwall recently?
  13. Aguero has no shout about it affecting his family really, don’t they spend most of their time in Argentina anyway? Only come over every 4 weeks or so?
  14. And this weeks new saying is ...., “Integrity”. Forget “Different Class” or “Triffic”.
  15. I was there. Won’t ever forget it. Requiescant in Pace.
  16. We all know that when the Champions League games are played at Anfield, they aren’t LFC’s games, they are UEFA’s. That’s why several thousand of us get moved to other parts of the ground, to accommodate the UEFA sponsors and “family”, and why our advertising gets covered up. UEFA and the government decided it was ok to allow the game, (and other sporting fixtures, such as Cheltenham), to continue not LFC. I would expect DaveK to know about the governments stance and influence on allowing the game to go ahead, however, even he can be forgiven for not knowing about UEFA’s influence, as he plainly has never had any dealings with UEFA. Ignorance is bliss it seems.
  17. To be fair, Cantona is a great shout, although he wasn’t acting cool at that Palace game!!
  18. Didn’t realise that was the case! Sort of makes more sense of a few things that happened over the years now.
  19. Yes, but nobody died you see, so that makes it different. Always has. Of course it is different, ultimately throughout all the violence at football games (in the 70’s and 80’s particularly), nobody died as a result of hooliganism until Heysel (that is unless you count the Sunderland couple who died from a gate support collapsing and a Palace fan who died under a bus after being chased, both incidents when playing Man United) and because it was us who were involved then we will forever have to accept that and quite rightly so, because there’s no arguing that we caused those 39 deaths on that night even if it was indirectly, hence the Manslaughter verdicts against 26 who were there. I suspect that whatever ills become our blue brethren from then and into the future, they will hold us to blame for those too, as it is much easier for them to argue about something intangible (they might have gone on to dominate Europe instead of being banned) than something that is tangible (they should’ve done much more than they have done since 1985).
  20. The closer we get to a restart (however that might play out) the more desperate some are getting to get a restart prevented. Its become obvious there are many agenda driven reasons for that, and ultimately, I hope those who are being selfish will be brought to book. Troy Deeney is quite right to bring up his child’s illness as a reason to not play until there’s a guarantee it is safe to do so, but he might have to wait a long time to kick a ball if that’s the case. The fact he’s only mentioned his kid now could be because he wanted it keeping private and maybe he’s decided there was no option left for him now and that’s why he has. We probably won’t ever find out if that’s why. If all the others who have been as vocal have similarly valid reasons then perhaps they should let those be known as well. Until that happens the Premier League should make clubs aware that there will, currently, be a restart similar to the German League and the clubs will be expected to adhere to the conditions agreed and, basically, get the fuck on with it. Of course it might be things could still go wrong, but when there are literally thousands who have had to get on with life as best as they can without PPE, testing or the privilege that most footballers have, I think we should at the very least expect them to have a shot at it. I have to say that it’s been so good that our club and players have said nothing and got on with helping others. As a our former Chairman said in the quote at the bottom of my posts.
