  1. Horses head in his bed the night before the game. The maid will probably think it’s him and his twin.
  2. If the occasion doesn’t get to Inter, I can see them having sufficient defensive nous to keep City at arms length. Haaland is City’s focal point and Inter will look to keep a tight rein on him, which should make it easier for them to nullify City’s attacks. De Bruyne won’t get the freedom to line up shots as he did against Madrid in the first leg either. Inter can score goals against anyone if they get the chance, and I don’t think City’s defence gets pressurised enough in the Premier League to show that they aren’t that good when put under pressure, especially their goalkeeper, who seems to me to have a mistake in him every time they play. It won’t be a foregone conclusion for City, but if Madrid get there (hopefully!) then the whole “Madrid’s competition” thing could kick in. Even then, though, in a one off game, it’s often the best defensive team who prevail, and we showed in the final and the first leg this season that Madrid can give up chances as well as they can make them. If it comes down to a “dark arts” game then Inter can hold their own against either of them. Whoever referees it will obviously have some influence too, but all the teams will do their homework on that score I expect. The other factor is Guardiola and how he thinks, which could be the biggest factor of all, but after tonight, that may or may not be a concern.
  3. Baresi probably the best of the lot, Gentile made a mockery of his name, tough defender. Looking at the list, it’s no wonder it’s hard to choose, you’d pretty much have any two in your back four. Quality, ruthlessness, style.
  4. Tomaytoes, tomatoes. The City job isn’t up for grabs. Klopp is still here. Fact.
  5. See Webb is in the Sky studio with Carragher and Neville tonight. Pawson is the referee, might have been interesting if Tierney had been taking the game. I’ll have the sound off.
  6. Aye, just checked and they have “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John now. Probably decided that Z cars was too much given it’s association with the paragons of the game. Might be appropriate for our dear neighbours though if/when they stay up?
  7. Think Mac Allister is nailed on. Palinha and Rabiot will keep me within the Captains limit. Goals and graft. Might work.
  8. Talking of Arsenal improving further is one thing, it shouldn’t be forgotten that City, and any other fuckers with bottomless pockets, will also improve by hoovering up any half decent players around the world. The money around the English game means most teams in the PL can now buy players of a quality they could only dream of a few seasons ago. Of course the total irony is that all of these teams will still look up and see City above them, and feel just how Arsenal are feeling tonight.
  9. Said at the time, would it surprise anyone if suspicious betting patterns emerged?
  10. More chance if they take Bamford off and put me on.
  11. Leeds so open, be surprised if they don’t concede a couple more.
  12. Thought Isak looked offside just as the cross was made. No check on it though.
  13. Jawdees have too much positive momentum to fuck up enough for us to catch them. Mancs have Howard Webb. We are our own worst enemies this season. Fifth.
  14. He’ll go to Madrid, earn squillions of money, then when he’s at his peak in three or four years time, fuck them off for us and take us to the quadruple we should have won last season. Nailed on.
  15. Nah, fuck that, don’t care how they lose, but lose they must, don’t want their name anywhere near big ears and the longer it stays off that trophy, the more it’ll boil their piss because they know they’ll never be regarded as elite until they do.
  16. Zoff, just, because I can remember him. Buffon brilliant too, of course.
  17. Ravanelli (Boro), Materazzi (Ev), Machedo (Utd.)……..legends all. What?
  18. Probably not, but then, the transfer market has never, to my knowledge, receded in overall valuations given to players, it’s always increased on average. I mean Grealish for £100m?
  19. £20m seems a bit on the low side in today’s market? Definitely a buy back clause, just in case.
