System restore ( takes the PC back to an earlier time NOT a factory reset ) is a viable option for you, simply click START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/SYSTEM TOOLS/SYSTEM RESTORE...the rest is self explained. The causes may be due to an update ( which you can remove ) a program recently installed causing conflicts with your set up. I will be able to help you with this but im in the process of putting the kids to bed. First try and connect to the router with an ethernet cable to check its working.Then enable LAC in control panel. You can use MSCONFIG to disable messenger from start up if you want.Messenger is now in the Windows Live folder if you've installed it recently.If you cannot see it in add/remove programs then remove Windows Live Essentials and the 2 other programs under it. With regards to the internet problem it could be one of many problems but if you provide with details i'll sort it for you.Please list the problems ie is the laptop seeing the router ( wireless switch on ), can you see other networks.

Just throwing a few ideas out there. Has any new networks appeared in you're range that may be affecting you're designated channel ( 1 - 11 ).Try changing the channel number in your router config to see if you can connect. I would try the old hard re-boot. What OS are on the 2 laptops? If it was just the one then i'd suggest flushing out all the old network settings. I have a few more suggestions but try the above first to see if it's simply a minor connection problem.
