depends who it was. obviously there are more talented players out there, but are they rght for liverpool fc, or in our price range? if we're going to continue with this current system, then i 'd rather stick with dirk on the right, who looks to be fully adjusting to the role now, and improve the left side instead.

dirk is an integral part of the squad. he's one of a kind.

if they've rejected the 15 million + add ons that was reported (if true) then we should turn our attentions elsewhere. i'm sure rafa is keen to sign barry for his experience in the premiership, but we could ge an equivalent or better in that position from abroad for that price, albeit with more risk. or, just keep alonso, but i think rafa wants to sell him anyway. he hasn't really done enough over the past few seasons to justify many fans' desperation to keep him.

rafa obviouisly sees arbeloa as first choice but he was injured a lot last season. he only played carra there when he felt we needed more height in central defence, and he's not going to leave jc out is he?

he was an average at right back in the past, but he couild quite comfortably slot in there now and do a good job if need be. don't think it will happen though unless there's an injury crisis. i think he's done really when played there under rafa and even come up with a few assists. he was our best player against arsenal in the cl, bombing up and down the line and putting good crosses in. defensively there's not many better.

should only cost us 18 million dependant on title and cl success, in which case it will have been worth it.

never worked for one, but i saw one of those bbc undercover programmes not long ago about tesco and how they restock so called fresh food like meat and fish that should have been thrown away. they also showed one of the factories where they make those ready meals, and some of the conditions were disgusting. staff going to the toilet and not washing their hands and then handling food. it put me off them for life.

i hope so, but i don't think we will. i think rafa is genuinely ok with what he's got, and as soon as he wraps up barry he'll bring in cover for torres, probably someone quite cheap and experienced, and an understudy for pepe, and that will be it.
