  1. That is how every thread eventually goes!
  2. THe only thing wrong with the recruitment process was Dave Whealan running to Sky making shit up!
  3. Dennis Tooth in not realising NESV are now FSG shocker. Joking aside, noone outside of the club knows how much we will have to spend this summer.
  4. not really, as it would already be accounted for, its not as though he is a new player with big wages. His wages would still have been in the Accounts for this year, but we would show a credit of the same amount somewhere else.
  5. Was it not an amount that rangers.offered to HMRC that worked out at 9p in the pound, and the reason it wasn't accepted was the full amount of avoidance hasn't been calculated. So if it a was higher amount owed it would dilute the 9p to something like 4p.
  6. because if you read between the lines of whatJWH is saying then it is the only way!
  7. that is pretty much what i was trying to get across in my rant. he has no perspective though. If carroll can carry on the form that he has shown for his last 8 or so games then he will fit nicely into rodgers team as Danny Graham did, he will never be a £35m player, but that doesnt matter now as he is already here. I'm not advocating that we were right to spend that sort of money, but we have so we need to make the best of the situation.
  8. how many of the big games did he play in. Where they as a starter or from the bench, what was the chance creation stats for all matches, and how many of them fell to him. He scored against the shite because in an average team punching above their weight, when it came to big matches they struggled to create, but against the rest of the dross they didn't. Stats are meaningless unless you have every stat humanly possible to make a well rounded judgement. Much easier to see ot with your own eyes, ask Damien commolli on that.
  9. Only a wool would come out with that type of comment.
  10. If you offset that against his amortised value on the balance sheet, and any image rights we own on him then it would only just about make sense to release him. I'm of the opinion that we stick him in the ressies for 2 years, I bet someone would take him off our hands before that period is up. Make him train twice a day every day, really go to town on the fucking mercenary. Every time he doesn't turn up for training or a match fine him 2 weeks wages(I believe we can only fine him 2 weeks in every 4 unless it is exceptional circumstances).
  11. I can only judge on when I have seen him play, and all he did was run down the wing, put his head down and either turn back and pass it to the full back or cross it to nobody. The fact he couldn't get a game for Juventus I wold have serious doubts, as it's not as thought he is 19 or 20, he's 25. Same with krasic, but I haven't seen him play. But I still don't want him. In fact I wouldn't want to do any business with them after fucking us about with boss eye. Plus they took 4.5m off us for Poulsen, that still hurts.
  12. Elia, from what I have seen is a speed merchant, but unfortunately he is shit. He makes babel's decision making look more like zindane's. As much as I would like pace in our side, I don't want it at the expense of good footballers.
  13. Am I correct in thinking that we get all income from other merchandise except the kit, unlike with addidas where I think it was a 50/50 split.if so anyone able to tell roughly how much that part of our business is worth.
  14. Just been reading that fiorentina might be back in for him this summer. His agent said their technical director pulled the plug last year, but now there are new technical directors there, one of them is Eduardo Macia. Anyone else heard this?
  15. IA said recently that our DOF would be in place before the manager, now with Dave Whelan announcing our appointment of RM. when do you think we will hear about the DOF?
  16. I alluded to that in one of my previous posts, but it doesn't back up people's arguments to remember it, when they can all harp on about his previous net spend and that's why he got the job. Loads of histerical old women on here.
  17. Xerxes, I like reading most of your post as I think you have a lot to offer, but you have got to let go of bitching about FSG at every opportunity, otherwise you will end up sounding like code or silverlining. I understand you are frustrated by them for their lack of input into the Suarez affair, and yes we should be wary of them. But until they have had time to fully implement their strategy, Keep it under wraps. They want us to be self sufficient, I think they mean as in able to manage ourselves as well. How many other owners apart from DW do we hear about wek in week out. If they can get a strong management structure in place then I think we will see even less of them. That's not a bad thing as long as there is a strong CEO(Broughton would be ideal) in place, which is why they are now searching for a new CEO again. The other issue that you appear to have is the 50m stadium cost, which is being treated as a bad debt. No one will ever know how we spent or will spend that money, they might use it as a way to negotiate their way round FFP and back a new manager this summer. Sorry I am starting to ramble a bit now, tramadol kicking in. Long story short, wait and see how this summer pans out, as then I think we will be in a better position to form a proper opinion.
  18. I'm not sure about Martinez, but Van Gaal would make me happy as DOF. I love the fact he is not a shrinking violet, as that was Comolli's problem. With Van Gaal to guide him who knows how martinez will do, he could be a major success, he might also walk after a few months because LVG will be on his back the whole time. I wasn't happy when rafa left, I was dissapointed when kenny left, I'm sceptical about Martinez, but I'm looking to the future now. Whoever is our manager I wil back them in the beginning until they prove they are not up to the job(I'm not saying they will fail).
  19. You have contradicted yourself there, in your earlier post you say that FSG are only now realising how much it costs to get back into the CL. Then you say they are going to believe that a manager who has relatively little PL experience can take us into the CL with 19m spent. FSG as nieve as they are about football, are not stupid. They will know that it will take significant investment to get back to CL. But the point about Martinez doing it on a budget is a moot point anyway as DOF will be the one signing the players, and if it is LVG as expected, then he has been around long enough to know that it's going to take serious cash to attain our goals, which will probably be part of their negotiations.
