Agreed, but this was also brought up to the end of last season when Voronin was continually played, when we all wanted to see Nemeth given a go? I agree that he has pushed through certain kids but held back with others it is that that frustrates me??

You could be right mate, but I think the, Who am I to argue line after it sugested otherwise, maybe I read it wrong, but lets face it it would explain his reluctance to play the likes of Nemeth and Pacheco??

The above article quotes Rafa as saying that you can ruin a player between 18 and 21. That is the reality. The above statement also proves a reluctance to blood youngsters in the first team beacause of his beliefs. That is my interpretation. You wont develop youngsters into first teamers without playing them. That is my frustration.

Have you read what I posted above? My frustration was at the comments by Rafa, regarding ruining players between 18 and 21. My sugestion that he would move on in a couple of seasons was a sarcastic one,ie he'd get frustrated or ignored for long enough for him to want to leave. Most people on the thread understood what I was getting at, sorry if I wasnt clear??

True, but Owens main problems early on were his hamstrings, due to his type of game, explosive pace an all that. Players are different, remember Gerrard and all his problems early on because he was still growing, not done too bad since, touch wood. I'm just saying that, the above statement is so negative, give the lad games and manage the situation, he is just what we need right now, especialy at home??

Didnt mean to sound so negative really mate and not usualy like me. But it annoys me when I hear things like "you can ruin a player between 18 and 20", that to me is too negative, some kids just need to be alowed to play. If this had been 1997 Michael Owen would maybe have still been waiting till 2000 to make the breakthrough, just think about what Owen did in those 3 years?? If your good enough, your old enough for me.

Dave, what was the score when Robbie returned then? Was it something Rafa had considered for a while or did it just "fit" that particular January? The similarities are there, ie Gerrard and Carra were consulted at the time I believe and gave the thumbs up, the same may happen again?

Hope your right on the Barry thing Dave. I get the distinct feeling that more and more Reds would now like to see Barry arrive, even at the expense of Alonso. Its a distinct move away from a few weeks ago, is this because of the deadline drawing near, Alonso's poor showing on Saturday a combination of both? Whats everyones take? To sell Alonso to Arsenal to get Barry? I think I would, yes.

I've just spoke to the ticket office mate. I've been on the list since May 1998 and nothing will change. I have a fan card which will remain unchanged and my loyalty remains from last season when applying for matches this season. The only benefit, match going wise I am informed will be IF I join the scheme I will be first in line for any "Returns" leading up to match day. So as you were for me realy, I go halves on a season ticket with me mate as usual and apply on my fan card for the others like I always have! Mind you I will miss out on the refs kit?????
