  1. Exactly. Taylor will give his standard 18/19 fouls against us (the likes of Pawson, Kavanagh will typically give 10-12 free kicks against us).
  2. Puss! :) ‘Take the piss’
  3. I stand corrected, but the point about the current referees being totally incapable of engendering respect from players who constantly take the puss is still valid IMO.
  4. Spot on. In an Everton game recently the defensive wall encroached over the white line. The opposition complained to the ref who responded by drawing another white line in front of the wall which was now only about 8 yards away! Why would anyone respect a ref who was so unable to impose his authority?!
  5. The irony is that the ‘we’re only human’ defence should only serve to remind us that humans are susceptible to bias, unconscious or otherwise and corruption as well as incompetence and lack of focus. And the media generally is too dumb - or unwilling- to understand thd difference between systemic and human failure. This was a case of both on a staggering and unacceptable scale.
  6. Sadly, you’re dead right. There are too many vested interests involved in perpetuating the myth that the integrity of the self-proclaimed ‘best league in the world’ is beyond reproach. We can already see it happening. The tone in comments sections of national newspapers has already shifted from sympathy and outrage to ‘whinging scousers’.
  7. Worst one was Anthony Taylor not sending off Kompany in 2019 at 0-0 for either of two valid red card reasons in the match that effectively decided the title.
  8. I Google'd this earlier and it appears that PGMOL is owned jointly by the PL, FA and EFL - so, a faceless committee. I hope the club is dealing with whoever these people are and sidelining Webb..... who is part of the problem.
  9. Yup. And there’s so much ammunition to throw in there. Skipp tackle on Diaz in April - worse than Curtis’s and not even a free kick given. Spurs fans will say Jota high boot on Skipp (who shouldn’t have been on the pitch). Tierney was ref, you’ll all remember. We’ll say Mings on Gakpo, also a yellow (Brooks was ref that day). We’ll point to Rodri not getting a deserved 2nd yellow at the Etihad in the 1-4. The ref that day? None other than Simon Hooper. (Interesting how the same names keep cropping up). We have so much more shit that we can throw at these chests than can be flung back at us. It wouldn’t be too difficult to demonstrate certain patterns especially over the last 6 months worth of matches.
  10. Haven’t you heard? Web’s coming out of retirement for this one.
  11. Steve Warnock doing a decent job trampling over Dopey Dermot’s feeble defence of his buddies on Sky’s Ref Watch.
  12. Yellow card for gratuitous mention of Usher’s balls! (Funny though)
  13. IMHO the Skipp tackle in April is worse than the Curtis one yesterday…. At least Curtis was totally focussed on, and made good contact with the ball. One is a red, the other isn’t a foul?!!
  14. So in summary…. The lineman got it wrong, the VAR ref failed to realise that the lineman got it wrong, and the assistant VAR failed to realise that the VAR ref hadn’t realised that the lineman had got it wrong.
  15. Yup. The officials are only human and PGMOL reminded us of that last night. But as humans, they/we are all prey to human frailties….. bias, conscious or otherwise, defensiveness, back covering, looking out for your mates. I’ve always believed MotD in cock up than conspiracy , but is it such a stretch to imagine a small cabal of officials getting together, probably after that incident between Klopp and Brookes , and deciding to put the German in his place?
  16. It’s not just the injustice, it’s the sense of total impotence when this stuff happens. If we’re lucky we may get an apology, which is utterly fucking useless when points are stolen and trophies lost as a direct result.
  17. Nah, no way it gets overturned. They’ll just use that damning freeze frame and the slo-mo to support one of their own. They won’t admit to another colossal fuck ups in the same game (or even three with the 1st Jota yellow) - otherwise it starts to look like something more than just incompetence on a barely imaginable scale.
  18. In rugby union, they check thoroughly to see if there's any mitigation before taking the massive decision to send someone off. PGMOL do the exact opposite. Fucking useless scum.
  19. Gary Neville for once talking sense. Decision making by people who knows the rules but don’t understand the game. Brilliant game of football now ruined. Fuck right off.
  20. Just catching up with this. Ref’s having a mare. Gives Brighton two free kicks for those flop-to-the-ground, grab the ball non-fouls but doesn’t give the foul that leads to the goal.
  21. I’m in a not dissimilar position, main stand, mid way between Kop and half way line. Looked a foul at the time and the first replay I saw confirmed it to be so. Would have been disallowed if VAR had been operating….. unless of course it had been Tierney on VAR.
  22. It was a ‘clear and obvious’ foul on Tsimikas before their first goal, staggering that the ref couldn’t see it. He didn’t get any better after that either.
  23. So, ignoring the clear kick on Tsimikas’ heel, prior to their goal, what looked to be a stonewall pen when Justin went through Doak to get the ball, Ricardo getting away with at least two yellow card offences having picked up one in the first half, nearly every Liverpool challenge in the 2nd half being penalised and a foul count of 18-8 against us? Yeah, ref clearly favoured us. Leicester’s diving was pretty annoying but even last night’s ref wasn’t fooled by the outrageous dive by Dewsbury Hall (should have been a booking).
