  1. Thank God the editor of The S*n wasn't actually in charge of the legal system of the UK in 89 - we'd have had the death penalty, plus innocent fans locked up for manslaughter. Fuck, I'd have been in prison! Twenty years on, the officials still cover up and lie. It can happen. It has happened. It does happen all the frigging time. We've had two cases in Canada recently where DNA evidence has exonerated people that have been locked up for first degree murder. Killing one person to make amends for killing another is some weird judaic/old testament shit.
  2. Kai is Maori for food. I think this is quite disturbing... Food, Wayne They missed out the comma, that's all
  3. Again there - I thought they were holding each other - Zamora deffo had hold of Carragher at one stage
  4. He did have his feet raised as he went in, but he put his foot down before going to tackle, so there is no way his studs were up. It was a scandalous decision - and I'll bet Kuyt's against Everton was used as a reference for it (his was never a red either, btw - but it was widely used against him as an example of a bad tackle).
  5. this is the first time I have ever heard Fairclough sound like a Red - he must be scared of McMahon
  6. Some brutal fucking chqllenges going in there - BS club
  7. That is spot on - that's what jumped out to me too. He's a newbie - so has no track record with us to speak of. Well, we'll see.
  8. I don't know whether it means that, but it means that whenever Torres IS fit, he will always be first choice - so who would want to come and play second fiddle to him?
  9. Swatting Boss Logs an anagram for stings blows goats
  10. No, it's not bollocks, it's an argument. It's not what you spend your energy on - but it is a plausible and valid point. You never force a player to stay against his will. Right back is an area he has cover in: Johnston, Degen, Spearing if needed, Darby, Kelly... Arbeloa was never in the spine of the team. I loved him as a player, but in a world cup year, being second fiddle to Johnston was never going to work. Everyone screams at Benitez for not playing youngsters. Yet you're saying he should keep people who don't want to play for us any more (or who want to leave, which is slightly different) instead. By the way, I think he could have spent better in some cases - but he could have spent a fuck of a lot worse too... I've got a pretty positive overall view of his transfers.
  11. Try heating his wet food for 8-10 seconds in the microwave - releases smells which are apparently quite appealing. I had to do that when our's was sick. She (the cat) would only eat it off my fingers too, for a while, so that might work. Hope Barbie gets better soon!
  12. I don't think we are too loyal - in fact, it's the opposite. Loyalty may be shown in the boardroom by some - but how many times has Rafa Benitez been 'about to lose his job'? I can remember at least 3 when he was about to be dismissed/replaced. That's not loyalty. As for the fans - assuming this forum is a cross-section of our support, it doesn't exactly shout 'we're loyal' from the rooftops. I agree that Houllier was kept on too long - but that was more about his friendship with Moores than anything else. Same with Evans.
  13. Hey, I liked him... some of his arguing was brilliant.
  14. I'd agree with that. It is a decent squad. The rest is impossible to quantify. Could he have, would he have, should he have...? We'll never know. But he's in charge of the team I love, so I'll support him as long as I think he is doing his best and is not out to fuck us over. I genuinely think he can pull this round - maybe not this season - but soon. This is totally different from Houllier. I stopped believing in Houllier. I never booed him - but I lost respect for him. Rafa, it's different. And we have given him control of the club, so we're in it with him now for the long haul. So we'd btter hope he is the right man for the job.
  15. I don't agree. Every other team has moved forward too. Rafa has made mistakes, bought badly, and fucked up. Of course he has. Every other manager has too. But he has also been brilliant at times, bought wisely and won us games with decisions. Whether he's the messiah or a naughty boy, we're stuck with him at the moment - and all the booing, crying and insults will not change that.
  16. I agree - what I said was I was trying to think why he made those decisions. They are all justifiable - even if they didn't work out. Of course I have no idea why he did it - I'm just trying to balance the books a bit here
