Yesterday for a lot of the first half villa was playing in a slightly withdrawn role anyway. Thats not to say he is not an out an out strikr but he has the abilty and intelligence to come deep and receive the ball as well. If you look at his first goal his starting position is much deeper than Torres' and he makes up the ground well. One thing that struck me about villa yesterday was how he dropped off when spain didn't have the ball, and i think he could perform a similar role for us
