  1. Fucking top post lad. Hit the nail on the head for so many of us there. It matters more to us when we win. Why? Because when your a down on your luck scouser and saturday comes, there's really no better feeling than getting one over charlie big potates. Little liverpool to them fucking the order up and the rest of the country cant stand it. To the rest its simply arbitrary that we're replaced by a corporate whore like spurs, or a sheiks billions like citeh,. Fact remains that our support is simply too big to alow our history to be overriden by politics or media forces.
  2. More likely to be wednesday after the wolves game but otherwise imminent.
  3. Deschamps he knows the league, well respected, good style of play, proven track record and most importantly young - ticks all the boxes. We just have to get this one right more than ever, the next gaffer needs to be here for 10 years. Kenny couldnt bring the long term vision or philosophy Deschamps could he'd give us a new direction.
  4. Its frustrating because I dont think we even had to progress as such under rafa. Had we just treaded water and maintained the level we were at after 09 we would be winning the league just by default of the teams around us getting weaker.
  5. His record speaks for itself. If he could reproduce 05/06 or 08/09 he'd win the league in the current climate.
  6. You can't sack someone on the back of one bad year...he deserves another chance, and another chance he will get. This league is a bag of shit right now, the weakest its been in years and rafa will produce the goods.
  7. Completely agree with that, the stark realisation that the vast majority of our support want him back will have surprised a few. Even more of a surprise when you think that Shanks and Kenny respectively stepped down and were never asked back, even though they both since admitted they'd have loved the opportunity to come around. Rafa may well be handed the chance 2 of our greatest men never had the honour of being bestowed...to manage Britain's greatest club for a second time round. Does he deserve it? Time will tell....
  8. Does anyone on here think that Rafa would work under Comolli? Being the control freak he is I cant see him fitting into NESV's model.
  9. Rafa Benitez has to be one of the luckiest managers alive. If its not Roy Hodsgon saving him from unemployment, its the ownership situation keeping him in a job. Sure, sometimes circumstances prevail to your benefit but I think we need to acknowledge that Rafa has something about him for the majority to still stay loyal to him. Even with that shitter of a season still stinking fresh in the nostrils and even after taking us backwards after 6 seasons in charge, people want him back and I think that speaks volumes, so yeah I think its a surprise.
  10. It is a major surprise, especially when you consider the resentment towards rafa on here. Can see him winning polls on other sites by a landslide. Pretty certain the twitter crew will be tweeting Henry the results as well en mass.
  11. Nice imagery but just begs the quesions what bills we have on at the moment with Roy? Are we even wearing bills or have we just shat ourselves completely?? I'm confused :|
  12. Tevez: Hahaha its ringing, its ringing!! Rio: ashley was sooooo wrong man this shit is overrated!!!.
  13. I just cannot believe the effrontery of the man...fuming, absolutely fuming :telloff:
  14. I remember Atkinson calling a league cup tie off at anfield against arsenal a few years ago due to snow. As he did his interview on sky he was getting balls blasted at his head by fowler live on telly. I'm not suggesting its the reason for his bias against us but he's never give us anything. So many decisions that could have gone either way, like today, go against us when he's in charge.
  15. I really do hope I am wrong but I just can't see this ending anytime soon. 1. Purslow, Ayre and Broughton today called an EGM to vote in favour of accepting one of the bids; 2. Hicks and Gillett have then called their own EGM to vote in favour of dismissing Ayre and Purslow; 3. Purslow and Ayre then slapped an injunction preventing Hicks and Gillett taking that step who themselves have done vice-versa on the original meeting. It is possible to obtain an interim order from the court which would prevent the sale going through. As I understand it a final order could only be passed at a hearing at a later date and these are not usually listed until weeks later. I know Slaughter and May are good but this is one shocker of a case to handle. If Hicks and Gillett are proven wrong they are going to have one fucking monster of a legal bill in addition to damages, not least for delaying a sale when they had no right to do so in the first place. This could ruin them for good. That said the debt can still be called in at any time by RBS once the deadline passes, the trouble is that they wouldn't do this knowing that the club had no repayment vehicle until this mess is cleared up.
  16. Could be the case that RBS don't even get a say if they manage to dismiss Purslow and Ayre through the EGM tomorrow then package a refinance to pay RBS off. Very worrying.
  17. I really don't like were this is going at all. I am sure the owners have voting rights as chairman of the board to remove a director. Surely somebody print off a copy of the companies articles of association from companies house to find out?
  18. Hasn't this been tried already? I thought the club shop had a capacity on a match day and we were going to fill it and not buy anything whilst also having a picket outside.
  19. Fucking pathetic some of our so called "fans" are already on his back slandering him as some sort of naive puppet without a clue. He's a shrewd journeyman so he is and I just wish people would give him a chance. Fucks sake we're our own worst enemy at times peddling shite like this. In an ideal world we'd have a replacement BEFORE we sold Insua but thats the predicament the club is in, not Roy... there's a difference.
  20. The timing of this "letter" his own intelligence probably didn't even allow him to write couldnt be more of a piss take. Its a transfer of responsibility of this mess to 2 american businessmen and nothing more. Instead it should be seen as a vindication of the hatred felt towards somebody who has turned a blind eye for nigh on 3 years to a group of people try and save the club they care for so much. We've already drowned dave, throwing us a life jacket now means fuck all. Just at a loss as to why this wasnt said years ago.
  21. David Moores looks after no.1 he isn't doing this for the benfeit of the club, us fans or anybody else but him. Driven by money he flouted the future security of our club for his own financial gain. He can't even go to anfield these days due to the stick he gets, a ground he helped build. He isnt even welcome in the city, a city his family helped build. He's betrayed the legacy his family would have wanted him to leave. The epitomy of greed, THANK YOU DM! One of sports greatest institutions is damaged as you say and the blame lies at your doorstep, nobody elses.
  22. Rafa is here next season. If otherwise why would he be so tight lipped about the clubs future? All this juve shit is just bargaining power with the new owners. If I was doing one i'd fuck it off and tell the fans what they wanted. Instead all's we get is this next game shit blah blah. He's here to stay and take his wedge...but wouldnt you if you didn't even have a boss to report to.
  23. He should have had this op on his "troublesome" knee injury months ago. With fourth gone he's now got the rest of the season off to rest for the world cup. But hasnt this year been all about the world cup? Just wish the playing staff had told us supporters beforehand so I didn't bother wasting me own dow.
