Tend to agree with what you say but I'd still say Riise carries more of a goal threat so as an attacking full back will produce more. However, Albert would be my choice every time as I have always had doubts about riise's defensive qualities.

His workrate is undeniable but technically ive been dissapointed with him. He needs to start bagging and you could see his frustration yesterday coz he's missing chances as well. just hope it doesnt affect his usual unselfish play...should've playes torres in for instance yesterday at the kop end for his hatrick rather than shoot himself when it really wasnt on.

Dont get me wrong hes awesome at the job he does but paying that sum for just a cog is stupid. To say his passing is up there with xabi's is an injustice to xabi as well for me. i havnt seen anything from him attacking wise yet other than to say he presses in the final third really well but wheres the craft and guile you expect for paying that fee??

This guy has been in our top 3 performers in every game this year. Saved us a fair whack for no longer needing a left back. slotted in like hes played there for years.

He wont cost 25 million but since we are speaking hypothetically I personally wouldnt pay it. You only pay that sort of money for match winners - that to me is someone who can win a game with a piece of brilliance. When you see torres and gerrard they are on another level to others in terms of doing the spectacular. mascharano is up there as the best in his position but its a known fact that its also the easiest position to play on the field. that sort of money for something a number of players can do is ridiculous. to think hes the only player who can do it as well is a little naive.

I agree we need 4 CB's but it seems Rafa isn't going to buy another one because Carra's injury isnt as bad as first thought and he is happy with arbeloa playing there. Im really not convinced by Arbeloa in that position though and Sami cant be relied on week in week out. I'd have signed a top quality CB in the summer and had Agger as the replacement one as hes still making the odd mistake.

Spot on....its what mourinho and feguson strive to create and now rafa is doing the same. It brings the players together and this has been a second decision in a week which has fucked us over. I think the shite might sneak fourth IF diving git can stay fit. They have a deceptively good team and with all the flare players people are signing i think it might suit everton who will grind out results when others will be too attack minded

1. Heggem - always remember Evans only ever making one substitute when teams used to come to Anfield and it would be deep into the second half with still no score. Who would he bring off? I dont think people see him as a legend by any stretch just yet but the chant fits perfectly and i hope it keeps getting used after all the goals he's gonna bag. lest we forget we are there to support. I took the same route out of the ground yesterday out of our exit and up the side of the doug ellis stand past the holt and its probably the shittiest walk from an away ground ive had. I parked a good walk away from the stadium and can honestly say i didnt see one policeman. Ive never been to an away game and come out of the exit and not even seen a bizzy. It was like the police had just given the villa fans a licence to do what they wanted, not making excuses for the sad idiots who attack people for wearing a different colour shirt but its gonna happen if there is zero policing. Ive never worn colours to an away game not because im scared i might get slapped but because its just not something im into. the lads i seen get set on were wearing the away shirts and did nothing but walk back to their car. luckily as has already been pointed out these villa 'fans' were about 17-20 and built like rakes so didnt seriously hurt anyone and to be honest i think they got filled in anyway.
